Alliance for a Better Zambia (ABZ) president Frank Bwalya has charged that President Michael Sata’s reaction to calls by UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema for Zambians to shun this year’s independence commemoration has exposed his inconsistency and short memory.

ABZ president Frank Bwalya says memories of Zambians are still fresh how President Sata while in opposition shunned state functions which included independence celebrations.

Fr. Bwalya has challenged President Sata to tell the nation why it was right for him to shun independence celebrations and it is now wrong for Mr. Hichilema to shun the same commemorations.

Fr Bwalya has however stated that as long as his party is invited for state functions they will always attend.

He explains that national events such as independence celebrations are important because they provide an opportunity to show the country’s unity, love and to thank God as well show appreciation to the freedom fighters that fought for the country’s independence.

He has told Qfm that this does not however, mean that his party is happy about the alleged lack of medicine in the country’s Hospitals and the high cost of living under the Patriotic Front (PF) government.

THE REDUCTION IN HIITS IS BECAUSE INTELLIGENT BLOGGERS HAVE REALISED HOW THE ZAMBIAN WATCHDOG IS ALWAYS TRISTING THE TRUTH JUST TO SUIT ITSELF. IT WAS JUST A MATTER IS TIME. ITS OPERATING SYSTEM IS JUST A LOW LIFE KACHEPA. DONT GET ME WRONG, IT GOOD FOR PEOPLE WITH LIMITED INTELLIGENCY.

    • Ba Bwalya bope fye. At least he will have a family to worry about instead of this mental torture he is inflicting on all of us.!

  1. Insele guys, insele too much. How do we discuss in a civil manner with postings like these before ours?? Fr Bwalya has brought up real issues, Sata never attended any GRZ function when Mwanawasa and RB were presidents, the questions are why was it right for him then and wrong for HH now? PF supporters please answer.

  2. Country men, HH was very right in what he said!!! I am just from checking around town how people are behaving towards the independence and what I saw was shocking!!! Its like no one not even big companies, schools, hospitals e.t.c is celebrating independence! No flags or any sign that independence is tomorrow!! Even the hype of saying the head of state is coming to Kitwe to celebrate for the first time hasn’t helped at all!!!!!

  3. Any sitting president has the right and authority to condemn those who shun indepence day celebration. Ba Father wait 4 your time if you will EVER be a president of this nation.

  4. But Zoona Bwalya is Maaadiiii.

ABZ as if its a vehicle number.Dagga from Chibolya is bad news.
It is a known fact when someone stops being a priest they go MAD

  5. Ba father, it was only yesterday that I was praising you for saying you will not shun the independence day celebrations. But today your statements are no longer fatherly. You also appear to be inconsistent.

HH, yourself and the opposition need to break the ice. Yes HE MCS made mistakes yesterday. Two wrongs never make a right!

Let us build Zambia on the foundation of Love as KK taught us. I will be very happy to hear HH has changed his mind and attended our national event. If he does not, then I will know that he has no Love in his heart for Zambia.

Please forgive HE MCS just like we have forgiven our Mighty KK.

We are all human and I expect the Church to be in the forefront of preaching Love and reconciling our politicians at Independence day.

    Zambia Loves you HH. Show…

  7. Flashback: I can’t join plunderers in celebrating independence – Sata
Lusaka — I AM prepared to name some ministers who are corrupt, Patriotic Front (PF) president Michael Sata has said.
Commenting on Zambia’s 39th independence celebrations at State House on Friday, Sata said he could not join plunderers in celebrating the country’s independence.
“If they challenge me I will name some of the ministers who are corrupt,” Sata said.
He said he would not submit to President Mwanawasa’s arrogance because of the independence celebrations. Sata said there was too much deceit and trickery under President Mwanawasa’s leadership.
He said it would be a mockery for the opposition parties to attend the celebrations at State House because President Mwanawasa didn’t recognise them as equal…

  8. stakeholders.
“When we go to church, we submit ourselves to the Priest or Pastor, whether you agree with the Pastor or not. But that is different in politics. We have to regard each other as equal partners,” Sata said.
Sata said his party would only join in celebrating the independence after the existing tension ceased.
“How can we celebrate together when there is tension amongst ourselves,” asked Sata.
He said there was no justification for the MMD government to organise any form of celebration because people were dying from malaria, HIV/AIDS and poverty due to their failure to provide the necessary requirements.
“When Americans celebrate, there is no tension among them. They enjoy celebrating their achievements. What have we achieved that is worth celebrating?” asked Sata. “Are we…

  9. And in his congratulatory message to President Mwanawasa, Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov has expressed confidence that the traditionally friendly relations between his country and Zambia would foster development, world peace and security.
Women for Change (WfC) executive director Emily Sikazwe asked Zambians to reflect on what was happening in their respective communities as they celebrate the independence. “So before you commemorate independence day, don’t forget that the hungry need to be fed, the sick need medicine, single parents need your support and vulnerable women in both rural and urban areas need support and the people living with HIV/AIDS need cheaper drugs,” she said.
Sikazwe asked Zambians to fight for the inclusion of social and economic rights in the new constitution.

    • SURPRISE………….HAVE YOU SUNK SO LOW THAT YOU ARE NOW USING OTHER PUBLICATIIONS TO ASK PEOPLE TO READ YOUR ZAMBIAN WATCHDOG? TALK ABOUT LACK OF PRIDE? NOW THIS DEGRADING! • KAMBELA MAZOKA WAS A GREAT MAN. HAD IT NOT BEEN THE DRIBLING OF ONE KAFUPI, MAZOKA COULD HAVE BEEN PRESIDENT. THE PEOPLE HE ATE WITH ARE THE ONES WHO KILLED HIM. MHSRIP.

  11. Pf is not for all zambians. All resources being chanelled to Northern Province leaving SP, WP, NWP, EP poor. This compares squarely to the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland where resources were chanelled to Southern Rhodesia leaving Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland poor. Viva HH lekeni ateke HH!

  12. What would happen if Mazoka was come back from death and knock @ the UPND secretariat??? Just asking don’t diahaorrea in those diapers bitch!

  13. What would happen if Mazoka was come back from death and knock @ the UPND secretariat??? Just asking !

  14. The reason was because the following Sata commanded was like that of a President. He would speak and make a decision and the nation would literally follow, but who will listen to ba underfive hichilema surely. He is just making a fool of himself because his stature as an opposition leader can never be likened to that of Sata both when he is in government and when he was in the opposition

  15. @AKASHAMBATWA:FORGIVING WHO?KK ,CANT U SEE THAT AFTER ALL THE DAMAGE IN HIS 27 YEARS DICTATORSHIP THE MAN IS NOW A SENIOR PF CADRE

  16. Some groupings are not worth inviting to national events, this pocket firm by this ungreatful ex priest Bwalya is almost non existant, even his red card story was unsu cessful,He left PF because he was not well rewarded my foot,,even that Zesco board Chairmanship didn’t fly which position did he want with that minute size of gray matter.
