RETIRED Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services (MIBS) permanent secretary Emmanuel Mwamba has expressed gratitude to President Sata for allowing him to serve in his Government since the Patriotic Front assumed office.

Speaking when he handed over work notes to Mr Stephen Mwansa – the new permanent secretary for MIBS – yesterday, Mr Mwamba said he had learnt a lot under President Sata’s tutelage.

“I am most grateful that His Excellency President Sata gave me an opportunity to serve the great people of Zambia,” Mr Mwamba said. “Everything happens for a reason and when they happen, it’s best to leave matters in God’s hands.”

Mr Mwamba added: “I consider myself as one of the lucky few that were called to serve the nation and I hope I did not fail the people and the President during my service.”

Mr Mwamba has worked for the government as permanent secretary for Northern, Eastern and Western provinces before he was given the MIBS portfolio on September 10, 2013.

He extolled President Sata as a man of action who “genuinely has nothing but the interest of Zambians at heart and many of us are confident he will help achieve great things for Zambians with God’s support”.

And the in-coming permanent secretary Mr Mwansa told the media heads during the handover ceremony that he intends to work with them as a “team captain”.

“We will work as a team as we serve national interest and all I will be is your team captain,” he said.

Mr Mwansa was until yesterday the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry.

“I have no media experience but I am willing to learn from you (media heads) and my door shall remain open for dialogue,” Mr Mwansa said.

The changes are with immediate effect.

Mr Mwansa is a household name in the Zambian business circles and he has a reputation for “eloquence” and “innovation” from amongst his peers.

  3. MAY FTJ’S GHOST REST IN PEACE NOW. MWAMBA STARTED WINING AND DINING WITH FTJ PERSECUTORS.

    • This is Emmanuel finest hour of freedom. He served the nation splendidly in pursuit of freeing of the airwaves. He leaves the service of government as a martyr, a freedom fighter and press freedom hero!!

    • indeed he was one of the best PSs Zambia has ever produced. Hardworking and action man he was. We will truly miss as civil servants more especially in Chipata

  4. Mwamba lacked understanding of the political and relationship matrix in the PF re GBM fight with Wynter and these two guys deep rooted relationship with the Head of State. He thought Kabimba was ‘gone’ and by doing what he was doing, maligning Kambimba through the Public media, he thought he was helping Sata and GBM to finish off Wynter – big miscalculation!

  5. @ Haleisa Halenya(HH) will carry his under 5 matuvi diapers in his hands in 2016 whatever your name, you should repent and seek the presence God in your heart. I dont care what your reply will be but you are definitely out of order. Please learn to debate issues. I know you are a staunch supporter of Mr. Sata and you are not the only one, I also know that you are a sworn enemy of HH and you are not the only one. Whatever the case, humility is what is going to earn support for your preferred leader. Insolence and uncalled for insults will not change any fact on the ground. Please if you have very little education, upgrade yourself so that you can start having intelligent debates. Anyway on the otherhand I think your behavior is genetic because people like proud still debate with since.

  6. I shall not say farewell to you Emmanuel, for faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens. You have shown us what excellence means in public service. Those that have worked with you can attest to this fact. Most of us are capable of reading between lines, and are thus well aware of the real reasons why you have been retired. Our consolation though is that even when you have been retired, your soul is not tired. And that is what matters. Bravo Emmanuel, Bravo!

  7. Umwaice should have been just warned he is a pawn in the hands of a chase player. What about the KING & QUEEN of the game??? GBM, SCOTT & WYNTER when are they packing??

  8. mwamba mwaiche zoona.i thought you were the to help us fight for freedom of speech, now you are no more yaaa old age ni problem.

  9. The congession of the incoming PS , “I have no media experience, I will rely blah, blah blah is a terrible confession. It puts a blame on the appointing authority. How I wished the confessing Officer had kept that to himself. I myself have lost confidence in delivery as MIBS (PS).

  10. Mwamba you are a true leader. Can people imagine firing a young & energetic man living those old and finished products? What happened, you should not be discouraged, those are set back of life the most important thing is that, you have left a MARK in the history of Zambia as some one who tried to bring democracy in the media industry. BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO new FREEDOM FIGHTER

  11. MWAMBA INDEED YOU ARE A MAN,ONE DOOR MAY BE CLOSED TODAY BUT I KNOW FOR SURE THAT SO MANY DOORS WILL BE OPEN FOR YOU SOON.YOU EXHIBITED PROFESSIONALISM BUT YOUR BOSS IN HIS MIND THOUGHT YOU WERE FIGHTING HIM POLITICALLY.DON’T BE DISCOURAGED MY MAN AND ITS JUST THAT I DONT HAVE YOUR CONTACT I WOULD HAVE COME TO CONGRATULATE YOU PERSONALLY.YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION NOT EVEN SATA CAN MATCH YOUR CALIBER.YOU WILL ALWAYS BE A GREAT MAN AND AN EXAMPLE TO ALL OF US.
IT WAS VERY UNFORTUNATE THAT YOU SERVED IN A WRONG GOVT,HAD IT BEEN THAT OF RIGHT GOVT YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN PROMOTED TO A HIGHER RANK YOU TRULY WORKED HARD AND BROUGHT SANITY.
I KNOW FRED M’MEMBE IS VERY HAPPY ABOUT THIS BUT IT WILL NOT BE LONG FROM NOW BEFORE HE REALIZES YOUR FULL POTENTIAL.
BRAVO MWAMBA, AND GREETINGS TO YOUR FAMILY

  12. Emmanuel Mwamba sked for it. You dont just take sides when two elephants are fighting. All u do sit and on the fence watch at a distance. The chap behaved as though he was an authority to himself. Even his friend Anthony Mukwita got into it denouncing Wynter and the Veep as though they were his peers. Its a big leson to other young guys who are being appointed into higher offices. Mwamba had overated himself and thought he would finish off the Bujimfumu squad That squad is very influencial and highly connected and has strong platform with wide coverage to fight back. I am sure Brother Amos Malupenga should be smiling coz Emmanuel for all things made his predecessor as though he was a corrupt person who was there to benefit. EASY GUYS SPEED KILLS.

  13. RETIRED Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services (MIBS) permanent secretary Emmanuel Mwamba has expressed gratitude to President Sata for allowing him to serve in his Government since the Patriotic Front assumed office. “I will miss state functions, messangers and salutes every morning and each time intend to go out, anywhere I will go back to my ussual job at zambian watchdog online as a reporter. I know one day iI will be asked to accompain the president as he goes for treatment in india and uk. I used to do that under former president Frederick TJ Chiluba,” Mwamba was seeing crying while entering his official car. Mwamba thanked President Sata for allowing him to serve in his Government since the Patriotic Front assumed. “as you may be aware i was MMD and did n’t resign.

  14. I hope?
You failed the people and the president Emmanuel Mwamba, common grow up. Its the reason why you’re fired.
There is nothing to hope about here, amulonge twamina.
Oh, Barotseland is moving forward to freedom as self determination is a right. Big Fishes are the in ocean. Muchinga is waiting for your arrogance.
