DUNAMIS Christian Centre apostle Dan Pule says Government has allowed him to register his new political party after changing its name from United People’s Jubilee Party to Christian Democratic Party.
Minister of Home Affairs Edgar Lungu recently rejected an appeal by Dr Pule against the decision of the Registrar of Societies not to register the United People’s Jubilee Party as it would have been associated with Zambia’s Independence Jubilee celebrations next year.
“The minister did not reject our application. He did not just agree with the name and we proposed an alternative name which has since been approved,” Dr Pule said at a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday.
Dr Pule said the Christian Democratic Party has been registered after the Registrar of Societies approved the new name.
He said the Christian Democratic Party has been formed with the goal of promoting democracy and enhancing people’s electoral rights.
Dr Pule said the party, which has been founded on Christian values, will ensure that it promotes biblical teachings.
“This party is exciting because it is founded on biblical principles but we shall embrace all other people,” he said.
Dr Pule also said his political ambitions will not disturb his work as a preacherman because he has served in Government and has been a political leader before.
I have nothing against Christianity or indeed any religion. But with political parties like the one just formed by Dan Pule, there is a danger of teaching Christian fundamentalism under the guise of biblical values.
We must not encourage religious based political parties and if we do that then we can as well allow the Muslims to register their political party in the country.
Christianity does not allow or promote discrimination of any form.
why are we allowing this discrimination in our country if we value Christian teachings?

Its never a good thing when you politicise religion, am a christian and i fear what will happen in the next 50 years. Lungu is doing the same thing, history tells us that when every christianity got into bed with power it is the people that have suffered. Looks at what happened in Europe and look at what is happening in america. Christianity will loose influence and a say in society if we Zambians continue in this manner.

Chatsha which word of God can this Pule preach? Who in their right frame of mind would go to a church where Dan Pule is a preacher? Time to repent is now for Pule but it looks unlikely since he still wants to use the name of God in vain this time in politics.
If he is serious with politics why not PUDD his first party he formed? why this new CDP? he wants to use christianity for his selfish motives. No sane person should ever think of joining or voting for this CDP, what a waste.

He must have made a lot collections from the saints in the name of offerings. He seem not to have any other place were he can use that money (little though). My advice, let him channel it to the orphans, Street children, widows and maybe in hospitals as well as an Apostles as he claim to be.
