Sata advised against public humiliation of ministers

Share

The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) has advised the President to avoid public humiliation of Ministers.

EFZ Executive Director Pukuta Mwanza has told Qfm that the admonishment of Ministers should be done in-house away from the public eye.

Rev Mwanza said that if the ministers continue to be rebuked and belittled in the public the level of respect from their juniors will reduce.

He added that the continued castigation of Ministers in public has the potential to affect their performance negatively.

Reverend Mwanza further statesdthat rebuking government officials in public sends a message to the public that government is not working in one accord, hence the need to discuss such issues such issues away from the public.

He said the President as the primary supervisor should ensure that his ministers do the right thing, adding that the government as a whole should provide leadership and inspiration the people of Zambia with their leadership and language.

    • The president was 100% right. Ukubuta no bupuba mu Zambia nabuchila. what was there for the president to hide. Ba Rev just hold and rethink. These Ministers are Lazy. The era of hanging jackets on your seats to wait for lunch is gone. people are suffering out there. They want a working gvt. How do you answer the president in public when u know u cant give him a proper answer, The best was for him to keep quite. Ataseeee!!! You lazy Zambians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by the way who is a minister?? He is just a worker like any other. If they don’t want to be humiliated, let them work or else resign!!!!! Fooooooolish!!!

    • No wonder you are a fake Zambian lawyer. Chipuba niwebo noyo wine umunobe ulesapota.

The reverand’s advice should be taken seriously and adhered to by the President.

  1. Let them be humiliated atase, these sam minister dont speak for us the suffering masses. WHY should we feel sorry for them. Sata rebuke them in our faces, since they are there to eat…..i dare them to resign if they are not happy

  2. We know it is wrong, but on balance, I would say let him continue as it is the only way Zambians can get back (at least emotionally) at the impunity of these ministers. ‘Mukanga uli Chipuba’ lol

  3. It looks like this behavior is our president’s perception of “man of action” I could not understand how the media could be invited to a Cabinet Meeting where ministers including the Vice President were dressed down.

  4. Even though like grain you should pound a fool in a mortar with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him. (Proverbs 27:22 AMP)

  5. Good luck for the advice, he will probably insult you as well. taka alook at this article from daily Nation “Fear has gripped the Bemba Traditional Council after reports that the state schemed to unleash about 500 police and paramilitary officers to Malole to destabilize the public unveiling ceremony of Paramount Chief Chitimukulu Kanyanta Manga II.” the saying that “birds of the same feathers flock together is really true”
KK did the same to the Lungu people over similar issues. He sent helicopters and paramilitary personel, a number of people lost their lives in Mpulungu. A few years later his colleague SATA is about to do the same thing. Thanks to the wisdom of the Bemba council to deffer this event. At least SATA will not appoint someone. else in the meantime.

    • When did the Mpulungu incident happen? I sure don’t know much about the goings on in Zambia. These things should be reported on and recorded for history and future reference.

  6. Obviously he apologised indoors and made it up with some compensation of some sort after which they laughed about it, am pretty sure the Minister has even forgotten about it! Those asking him to quit…. easier said than done, hes thinking in terms of Bread and Butter, cars and Holidays even i wouldnt who among you have never been humiliated before? Ok the entire country witnessed it but the fact that it comes from Sata makes it even less worthy killing yourself over unless it came from someone unexpected. I just hope he will refrain from sulking as it says much about him and not the recieving person!

  7. Clearly the EFZ do not know the doctrines of their religion. Have you ever read of Jesus rebuking anyone in private? No! He praised and castigated everyone in public. That was the mark of his honesty. When a Church organisation starts advising someone to do certain things in private they are just saying “Dont let other people know the shortcomings you have seen” Therefore keep the vices hidden. So let the corruption, the thieving, the negligence, the laziness continue. In other words the vice must be left to forment out of sight. The church body is encouraging underhand deals! Corruption

    • Very true. EFZ is trying to encourage vices rather than virtues. It is encouraging the sweeping under the carpet of corruption

  9. iwe yamfwa mukanga ulichipuba saana” again at chilubas grave site, iwe mwaiche kale nakweba that u build chiluba a tombe stone, i wil do it my self

  10. It’s really embarrassing to address your members of the team like that. Assembling a formidable team hinges on the competence of the coach. The coach would always endeavor to protect and motivate his players. What is required in management is to work with your team and within your team. HENRY FAYOL’s 14 principles of management might be of use to the current leadership. Govt machinery please make these principles available to our leaders. Public humiliation of your partner either in marriage or public office is mismanagement of resources.
THIS INCIDENCE REMINDS ME OF THE TIME WHEN THE THEN FIRST LADY MAUREEN MWANAWASA WAS ADDRESSED AS UN-TUITERED WOMAN REQUIRING ALANGIZI. thank God our late president restrained. Mr. Mukanga has a genuine cause to resign to protect his C.V or…

  11. # 3.1 @ fake zambian lawyer from your writing I can deduce that you have never recieved a public rebuke in your life thats why you are supporting the public rebuke of these ministers. Your DAY will come and you will discover how terrible it is.
