SUNDAY CHANDA, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
PRESS STATEMENT
15/11/2013
PF GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT TAKE BEMBA PEOPLE FOR GRANTED BY INTERFERING WITH CHITIMUKULU CORONATION
OSF wishes to call on President Michael Sata to take steps to reconcile and recognize Mr. Henry Sosala as Chitimukulu and gazette him in the interest of harmony between Government, the Royal establishment and Bemba-speaking people at large. In the same manner that President Sata reconciled with the late Chitimukulu, we ask him to take a similar route this time around.
OSF further calls on President Sata to consider finding Hon. Nkandu Luo’s replacement because her divisive leadership on this subject has resulted in collateral damage which will not be easy to repair. Hon. Luo has failed to perceive that there is no value in antagonizing and intimidating the Mwine Lubemba.
She has failed to understand that the fight against the Chitimukulu is a fight against the Bemba-speaking people as a whole. She is creating an impression that PF is ungrateful for the support this Region has given it support. Hon. Luo must declare her interest in this matter and stand aside.
OSF is disappointed that the PF Government, through the Minister for Chiefs and Traditional Affairs, has openly become confrontational with the Bemba-speaking people over the Chitimukulu recognition. PF Government knows too well from history that the Bemba-speaking people will not shift loyalty from their indigenous traditional authority.
The Chitimukulu defines who the Bemba-speaking people are and should be given the respect due to it. While we appreciate pressured sentiments from Northern Province Minister Hon. Chisala, he has equally waited for too long to give a position on a highly sensitive and divisive subject.
We are asking Hon. Chisala to explain the truth and rationale behind the reported heavy police presence at the Chitimukulu Palace in Kasama. Ministers for Northern and Muchinga Provinces must provide the Executive with honest impressions of the damage such retrogressive maneuvers are creating for Government on the ground.
Beyond registering negatively for Government, Provincial Ministers must be candid with the Executive on the unnecessary tension birthed among the Bemba-speaking people over perceived fights with the Chitimukulu.
Lastly, we wish to caution Government that there is no value in antagonizing traditional establishments because these existed even before constitutional powers were “manufactured”. Pieces of legislation inherited from colonial masters must not be used to fragment our indigenous institutions of Governance.
The Ministry of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs must not be reduced to a polarizing arm of the Executive, entangling itself in fights with Traditional institutions of the people. Rather, this Ministry should reinforce respect accorded to people’s traditional institutions. It should also advise the Presidency correctly on matters of Chiefs.
What the heck is OSF? Openly Short Fool?
So said Sunday Chanda after failing to secure a position in the P.F Government.
Folks
His personal frustrations aside, this guy is telling the plain truth. Now that he is free from being compromised like many Panga Fighter members let him call a spade a spade and nothing else.
I urge all people in Mansa to teach these Panga Fighters a lesson by voting for opposition.
Yaba Ka sunday Chanda u are an opportunist. Just shut your proboscis, all these days when Luo and Sata have been harrissing bashilubemba u have been quite, after PF says they won’t interfere with Bemba coronation now that’s when u are speaking, coward f00l
Get a real job not these fake NGOs where you are the only member.
OSF what is it? Somebody educate me pliz!
Open Society Foundation!
I am humbled by the candid and well thought statement to the Panga Family by OSF
Chanda please ! So now you want to be speaking on all issues even ones where your voice input is not required ? Now i see why PF refused to give you that job they promised you.I bet thats what you get for getting into politics for personal gain.Talk about opportunists and frustrated individuals !!!
@Saulosi, please stop calling people “frustrated”, why is your PF frustrating Zambians anyway?
On Sunday Chanda, just leave him speak his mind off, and remember its weekend, he looks drunk. Ubwalwa busuma, ask Acting-president Edgar Lungu.
Ba Saulosi not everyone is a blind follower like you. Why do you think you are an authority on any matter critical to PF policies? Get a life!!!
@Sauliso
This Sauliso PF cadre is the most brainwashed of the bloggers. He pretends to be learned. He has no shame inwhat he writes, criticizing anything anti-PF. We know who he is. We are still gathering information to publicly expose him. Just wait and see.
The truth needs to be told. It does not matter by who, how, when or where.
Please he was elected as mwine lubemba,Govt please stop
what you doing.
Sunday Chanda or whatever you call yourself please stop being an idot.
The chap is a loser. He is bitter with PF after they dribbled him on a job offer.
Does this surmount to accepting that PF is a dribbler, hence the dribbling of all those who were waiting for more cash in their pockets.
I beg to differ with those condemning Sunday Chanda just because at one time gave unwarranted support to the Panga Family. That is ridiculous.
Tell them about respect and admiration for traditions. Luo is traditional “mini star” and Sata is president, aren’t these positions enough.
Professor Luo, you want to be a “chiti munono”? Leave Chitimukulu Sosala. One person with 8 hands, no no no, Luo stay away and leave traditions to determine their own issues. As “mini star” of traditional affairs, you must support them not wanting a relative(Chibesakundas) to takeover. Power hungry?
Well spoken Chanda, hope all will take note of what you have said.
Am just tempted to comment because I am Bemba-speaking but not Bemba by tribe. Now that we are a civilized and independent nation, but still members of the British Commonwealth, why can’t we learn from the civility of our former rulers, to ensure that like them we should not hear Govt bickering with the Royalty. The PM in United Kingdom cannot belittle the Queen for any reason. The Bembas and Lozis including Ngonis. Chewas and Lundas of Mwata Kazembe Kingdom from colonial days and during Kaunda days were not interfered with during successions because they have well established lineage among the royalty who should succeed whom. Govt would only render support and recognition of the traditional succession systems.
He is the wrong guy to talk for the Bembas when we all know his personal differences with PF. How do you even start with initials OSF as if you are texting your girlfriend. First write in full ! Sata is not even interested with your comments, he has never been bothered with anything ,not even 2016 elections, Mwine Lubemba, Linyungandambo, 90 days, economy or in house PF fighting he is not bothered now!!!!! He is done! It’s now time to prepare for retirement he is busy building his house, just forget all you lots. When will you take this to your heads? He has already delegated to the A team.
before you open you algae stained mouth, ask yourself if sata can match sunday chanda’s intelligence despite both of them being half brains
As argued above, why should there even be elections of a new chief when the system is already there in lineage of succession of who is to replace a deceased Chief. For instance, I learnt from history that whoever reigned as Senior Chief Mwamba automatically succeeds the throne of Chitimukulu and becomes Mwine-Lubemba he does not even require new recognition. Politics have infiltrated the Royalty so much that whenever any Chief dies disputes about succession arises and yet the royal Lineage is well known to all. Govt should only ensure succession abides with the traditionally acceptable lineage, like the way it is clearly known in England up to the baby prince.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF WHAT?
WHAT DOES O S F STAND FOR AND
WHO IS THIS GUY, CHANDA, WHO IS
MASQUERADING AS SPOKESMAN

Ba Kizito naimwe. You cant even spell! Crock means something totally different. Your stereotype shows that yu are of a small mind. Travel, associate and research more then you will know that your stereotype is stupid.
The correct English should be: “it is the first time for me to…” As for Bembas not used to telling the truth, I beg to differ even though I’m not one myself. Your admission that Chanda OSF has told the truth nullifies your assertion. You have inadvertently weakened your good points by infusing in an unsubstantiated view not supported by empirical evidence.
Kizito keep your rural idiocy to your self. If you have notimg to say, keep your smelly rotten mouth to your self. You embacile.
True, but Bemba people should not take PF for granted as well thinking they were going to be automatic favourites.
Ba chimbwi dull dull how does a normal person vote for any pf character it shows how dull stupid you are probably more dull than pf dull *****s how does one vote for a grade three cadre career criminal
So you expect the bembas to give a vote to PF? I think it will be an uphill battle Sunday always eating with both hands.
ICHI CHI NKANDU LUO UBUBI KWATI CHAUME. WE CHIMUMBWA WE TWALA UBUBI KU BUBISA. AUBA UMUBEMBA UMUTIMA NGAWALIWAMA. NOMBA UBUBI UKUBIPILA KUMO NO MUTIMA, AWE.

LUAPULA PREMIER YOU ARE FUNNY. ATI CHANDA SEMA?
Panga Family, Panga Failures, Panga Fist, Panga F00/s, Palibe Fintu, Paya Farmer, Punching F00/s…the list is endless…but Panga Family is actually the best…remind me what does PF really stand for again?
Oh how the tables of Nepotism and tribalism have turned.
I wonder what you people in the, ” so called diaspora” think about Zambia? Don’t show off on this forum, most of you are not better than ordinary Zambians living in Kanyama compound. Gone are the days when people ( Zambians) used to get surprised by economic refusgees’s cheap public utterances. I have lived here 17 yrs and most of you are just *****s, making noise for nothing and condenming PF this, pf why? pf not and pf etc. What have you done your self? Malabishi. I have always asked this simple question. Where were you the so called learned, people when Zambians voted for Sata? It doesn’t make sense at all when the least, expected person does win elections. Leaving the HH, RB and many others ,too many to expolate. So, stop exposing your foolishness here. Zambians are happy…
Chanda sema is former ” jesus of Kitwe in Kwacha East, now dead.” But real Jesus never dies.
May I say something here specificially for Zambians. It doesn’t matter where you are. Stop boasting on this forum. Mulechula sana in diaspora, come back home and you will be respected. Because you are black you are always looked upon as foreigners, why? It’s not your country, so don’t belitting your home country just because you are in the so called diaspora when am also here. Tell the truth, mulechula over and vent your anger, stupidily. You are talikng evil against your own country and govt. You lost children who talk of things you little have knowledge of. This is nonsense, Zambians don’t need your cheap pounds and small dollars in value. Atleast Zambians can’t pay for a 2 bedroomed house for 35 yrs. What a joke. Lekeni ukuyumfwa kuti twamisapulula sana.
leka ukusabaila, ishe chefu, wilanwa ubwalwa ichipesha amano
IF YOU PF SUPPORTERS HERE REALLY LOVED SATA, THIS IS THE TRUTH YOU MUST BE TELLING HIM. THE PROBLEM IS THAT YOU WANT TO LIE TO HIM THAT ALL IS WELL WITH ALL THE WRANGLES WITH THE CHITIMUKULU.
I AM PROUD THAT SUNDAY CHANDA HAS TAKEN THIS APPROACH OF CALLING A SPADE A SPADE. WE MUST NOT BE LYING TO SATA THAT ALL IS WELL WITH THE BEMBAS AFTER THE FIGHTS WITH CHITIMUKULU.
SO CALL SUNDAY CHANDA NAMES, ON THIS ONE, HE IS MY MAN AND I SALUTE HIS COURAGE.
Mr. Common man Sir, leave politics to politicians . Chanda has a bone to chew with pf . You and me are not involved and Chanda has no right to speak on behalf on the Bemba speaking people. Joblessness is the main problem here. Chanda lilofwa, to make his stance known he has to condenm govt. There are alot of things he can do in life than politics. Personally can’t do politics, but watch from a distance. Chanda will soon burn his .
There are alot of *****s on this fora, who think that living in the UK or US is a passport enough to insult ,innocent Zambians and the PF ruling party. Am also here, what is it that you are doing here that makes you so special that you can even insult you presindent Sata. Stop boasting on this forum we are also here and we know what you do and live for. Stupid *****s.
Common man don’t be like Aphiri anabwera, if you are Zambian, remain Zambian. US is not your country or indeed the UK. It’s because you have never been accepted as one of them so called ” whites” that you are trying to establish your rooots. Stop boasting baice mwe mulechula sana. I am also here next week, am travelling to Havana. Mukabwela boss tulemicheka so. God bless all Zambians.
Bembas are fools.
Please lets welcome this Sunday’s offering just as we would welcome a mad man’s sane contributions… after all, he was once normal!
Kapoma or Chipoma, Zambia has over 6 million unemployed youths and that does not take away their right to speak on matters that concern their tribe and nation. I also do not have a job because the PF Govt we voted for lied to us about jobs. Some of us have followed sunday chanda for long and proud of his voice. When he supports your govt, you are all clapping and when he whips you, you say he is jobless. Be warned here that what this guy has written about is true for us here. Chanda is not a spokesperson for all Bembas, but he is a Bemba and not a Bisa like some of you who want to become Chitimukulu. Watch this space and see what happens to PF in the Bemba region
PF CADRES ON THIS FORUM ARE DENIALISTS. THEY ARE DENYING AN ACTUAL TRUTH. YOU WANT TO SHIFT ATTENTION FROM THE ISSUES CHANDA HAS RAISED TO NON-ISSUES ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT HE HAS A JOB. INFACT, MAJORITY OF ZAMBIANS HAVE NO JOBS AND THAT IS WHY WE ARE VOTING YOU OUT IN 2016. WATCH THIS SPACE.
CHANDA WELL SPOKEN…WE SHALL SEE THE REAL *****S COME 2016! TOUCH CHITIMUKULU AND YOU ARE GONE BAFIKALA!
@kizito.. You are educated unfortunately very uncivilised. Try not to be tribal whenever you are venting your anger because you lost the 2011 elections. Why is that each time you flap your cracked lips only hate tribal speech agaist Bembas escape from your rusty brain…wikabwekeshapo because zambia is not rwanda.
Sunday Chanda: nobody, but nobody is above the law, chief of this, and of that; all must abide by the law, period.
Information has it that the PF cadres planned to go and remove the chief from the palace by force. So the police acted swiftly to protect the chief from being harmed.
I believe Mr Sata is being mislead by his ministers.Though he is Bisa,he should respect Bemba tradition just like the past presidents. The president will loose nothing by recognizing the Bemba chief.
