The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) in Livingstone has expressed disappointment with Southern Province Minister Daniel Munkombwe’s statement in today’s edition of Post Newspaper.
Mr. Munkombwe is quoted as saying both opposition UPND and the opposition Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) lost the Mansa Central Parliamentary by-elections, which the ruling Patriotic Front won, because both opposition political parties are full of political amateurs.
UPND Livingstone District spokesperson Nato Halwabala however says his party will not be moved by such a statement from Mr. Munkombwe because it is fully aware of what sort of person Mr. Munkombwe is as he is a sort who is allegedly good at issuing statements to please his paying master.
Mr. Halwabala says this also because the UPND is further aware of the fact that Mr. Munkombwe does not mean well in the country’s political landscape because he has already publicly stated that he joined government only to eat and to benefit himself.
Mr. Halwabala has told Qfm in a telephone interview from Livingstone that his party also finds it strange that Mr. Munkombwe has overlooked the fact that the ruling PF has also being losing in other by-elections that country has been having.
Mr. Halwabala has wondered why Mr. Munkombwe has not referred to the PF as being full of political amateurs in the by-elections that it has been losing.
Mr. Halwabala says it for this other reason why his party finds it strange for Mr. Munkombwe not to understand the country’s political makeup in which people are free to vote for any political party of their choice because Zambia is a multiparty Democracy.
The UPND Livingstone District spokesperson has since urged well meaning people in the country not to take Mr. Munkombwe’s statement seriously.

The simple fact is that the PF won in Mansa because we, as Zambians remain deeply tribal (with the exception of the CB, Lsk and the parts between the two) and easily swayed by a dangling carrott. The sooner we accept that, the sooner we start taking steps to challenge our mindsets.
I am from Mansa and I feel HH has come out more mature than this Munkombwe. Don’t take us for granted; we may just give the next vote to HH.

Munkombwe is half baked in the head that’ s why he can’ t tell whether he is a human being or an monkey. If we were to take a survey of people in all political parties in Zambia, there is no doubt about the findings one could immediately make concerning the people who run these organisations. From the normal persepective, could one allow a car without headlights to lead the way in the night with cars/ vehicles with normal headlights behind, how can you find the way ? Tyson Powell, Daniel Mukombwe is a great states man of Zambia who has contributed a lot to our peace and development. We should appreciate and respect him for immense work achieved in Zambia and in particular Southern Province at a cost of incalculable human and material sacrifice.
In my humble opinion there is absolutely no point in consistently raking up the man for having served in all governments, he is full of wisdom and knowledge.

y did kapolyo badly fail if the voting was tribal? Coming from a big party (mmd) with no tribal dent as is the case with upnd, i expected him to be very closer to chilufya, though it was clear that kapolyo and all the other contestants were no much to chilufya. No tribalism.

Lusaka politics will not help any body. If Lusaka politics was considered in Mansa by elections, MMD OR UP END would have been declared winners. What you’re talking on this blog if it were votes for the oppositions, really they would have won the elections. But alas, very few have access to internet to hear your propaganda. Come 2016 the voting patten will not change the only change that will be there is that PF will have more votes this time around than in 2011.
