Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) president Nevers Mumba has said that the resignation of Mr. Mwamba from his ministerial position has brought pride to the Bemba land.

Dr. Mumba charged that Mr. Mwamba’s decision to ditch his ministerial job in respect of family and tradition is exceptional.

He urged all well-meaning Bemba’s to support the move adding that pride and respect should be restored in Bemba land.

He said most people were left wondering why none of the PF Ministers serving in the PF government never came out and defended the Chitimukulu chieftaincy from President Sata’s attacks.

[pullquote]Dr. Mumba noted that President Sata has a tendency of sending law enforcement agencies to probe former ministers.[/pullquote]

Dr Mumba said it is now gratifying that Mr Mwamba had come out and picked family and tradition ahead of a cabinet job.

Dr Mumba said his party will not take kindly to what he termed as tricks by government to harm Mr Mwamba popularly known as GBM.

MMD leader Dr. Nevers Mumba says the Bemba land will not allow President Micheal Sata to probe former Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba now that he is no longer part of cabinet.

Dr. Mumba noted that President Sata has a tendency of sending law enforcement agencies to probe former ministers.

Dr. Mumba said government should have probed Mr. Mwamba while he was Defence Minister and not now when he has resigned.

The MMD leader who spoke in Bemba on Radio Mano in Kasama Wednesday night said it would be immoral for President Sata to launch a probe against Mr Mwamba following his sensational exit from government.

Meanwhile, a former governor in the Kaunda regime Isaac Choonga has advised Patriotic Front (PF)Chairperson for Labour and Social security Davies Mwila and Robert Chikwelete to stop criticising Former defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba.

[pullquote]Dr. Mumba said government should have probed Mr. Mwamba while he was Defence Minister and not now when he has resigned.[/pullquote]

Mr Choonga said Mr Mwamba should be left alone because he made a personal decision to resign from his position without being kicked out by the Head of State.

He told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka today that those criticising Mr Mwamba are not being fair to themselves and described the situation as unfortunate.

He added that Mr Mwila resigned as a deputy minister and no one blamed him for his decision to do so.
Mr Choonga hinted that it was not realistic to accuse Mr Mwamba of being disloyal to the party just because he decided to resign on personal grounds.

He said it is wrong for Mr Mwila to say Mr Mwamba needed to show loyalty to President Sata because he was holding a very important position in the government.

Mr Mwila and Mr Chikwelete have been quoted in the media having advised Geoffrey Mwamba to leave the party in peace rather than cause confusion.

Commenting on Mwamba’s resignation as defence minister after President Michael Sata admonished him following his visit to Paramount Chief Chitimukulu Henry Sosala, whom government has not recognised, Mwila, who a couple of months ago was Mwamba’s deputy but resigned, advised him to leave the party if he wished to do so.

And efforts to get a comment from Mr Mwamba proved futile by press time.

  1. way to go GBM! good lesson to the many pushovers in govt who for a slice of bread will take all manner of insults. vote wisely next time.

    • you people!! this is christmas,,, time for love and appreciation, love your neighbour as you love yourself, the word of God says!!,,
Now me i dont understand this bemba tribalism,,,you mean the chitimukulu who lives in the his nice jungle kingdom in kasama, and Sata a president of a concrete State of lusaka cant co-exist, even on christmas day only?
This Bemba-Bisa, Bisa-Bemba, me am tired mwe!!… and that ape looking woman is the biggest confusionist!!

    • nevers mumbwe has exhibited utmost tribalism. because mwamba is bemba he has brought pride to the tribe. what nonsense is this? no wonder he failded to run his NCC and RP parties and now, like a vulture wants to ride on MMD. well, MMD is also sinking under him

    • @matipa this has nothing to do with tribalism but putting one’s principle before one’s ego. Yes, blood is thicker than water my friend and like the brothers in the States would say “when the worst comes to the worst my peoples come first.”

    • @ Matipa,
You are such one gigantic tribalist on LT, revisit all your posts, they stink tribalism you are such a sorry sight! I hope thats on your list for 2014! Otherwise, someone has to get your uncivilised nature to a civilised world, lowlest!

    • It can’t be innocent for Nevers Mumba to be sounding so sympathetic to GBM… We all know than Nevers is a MUSELELA KWAKABA. Withmost people wondering what GBM’s next political move could be, we’ll see people like Nevers trying every trick in the book to be in his favour. Twanaka nobe fake pastor!

    • For the next 3 or so weeks, our daily newspapers will assume the following names: 1. Times of GBM 2. Zambia GBM mail .3. The GBM post! Etc….

    • Folks

Whats all this tribal spat going on here? Surely Dr Mumba did not mean it the way most people have interpreted it. What Dr Mumba meant is first and foremost GBM has brought insansa to our Bemba brothers and sisters but most importantly to the rest of Zambia as he has shown the serpent that its not in control any more. I hear the serpent has now deployed many police officers to block GBM’s political activities in his constituency and intimidate him.
GBM needs to join hands with UPND heavy weights to finish off Sata completely. Like I have said before , Sata fears HH so much that all the tricks he has tried to control him have failed dismally. He has tried to make flimsy charges stick on HH but no avail. So the moment GBM will announce that he is joining UPND,Sata will collapse!

    • If you have’nt noticed HH is quiet but busy working in the back ground with GBM to thrash out modalities of what part GBM will play once he comes aboard the UPND space ship.

    • @Ndobo, please please please why call the woman minister as such? If she briefly, and just briefly opened left leg for you, will you ever call her a kolwe?
I am married, to one and only (not like Sata), but to a ho… ok ok ok before tabulai…
Anyway my point is that I respect all women, being a hotty Lozi’s PF chairperson or Charlotte, I respect them, you never know abaisakusungako, ask Sata.

  2. Chikwelete is nothing but lime light job seeker from PF, he will end up in a very miserable destitution in the near future. So is Luonde.

    • wewe zuberi gani?lakini unaongea ukweli chikweletete na uyu mchungaji pori anaeitwa luonde watapata shida sana kuma mama zao.

    • Luomde is already a destitute! Here is an old clergyman without a meaningful job or role to do except being used to make running comments for Fred Homo.sexual Cimbembe’s Post!

    • Luonde……is that the man of collar who disgraced himself by going after other people’s wives??!! That just shows how low the Post can sink to use this bustard to push their own agenda. Anything the Past Post writes is what Membe says……look at the likes of those being quoted….chikwelete, my feet!!!!

  3. Its not only in Bemba land GBM has brought insansa its the whole country. South to North , East to west all non PF minions and well meaning Zambians are happy to see GBM leave the devil’s party.

    • @ matipa and @ Luapula Premier (stop using capitals on your psuedonym)…..GBM is way ahead of the game…..he has won the hearts of all right thinking Zambians bar the cartel (Memembe nemba and cohorts). Here is a man who brings out what we all secretely harbour….to challenge that great serpert hissing donchi kubeba and at the same time swiping at linemba homo mumembe. Every right thinking person in Zed despises M’embe. Fact: who can you vote for President and be sure your freedoms will not be tempered with? Chief of lies Mumembe or loyal family member, GBM?? You know where my vote goes……abaume baume nishimbi….namutulanga inshila bakanabesa GBM. For now dont even respond to that pf vuvuzela, menemba mumembe.

    • It’s healthy to give vent to your anger and disappointment when your expectations falter and this is all a storm in a teacup, soon to be swallowed by the vagaries of time and other important events…It’s Nevers Mumba that continually has me worried. Is he really a presidential aspirant or is he the Chairman for Local Government in MMD?…He seems to be a lone man without any advisers about what is ,and is not appropriate for a party president to publicly commit himself on.After your ordeals with the courts of law,I thought you would learn how to inspire confidence.Nevers,Learn to let your lower ranks do the initial talking/probing,while you study an issue thoroughly to be able to issue a comprehensive”Presidential statement”later.Take my free advice or forever be an embarrassment

  4. I think there is a huge misunderstanding here,GBM has NOT left PF,he has only resigned as minister, lets not confuse the two please.

  5. Rhe Gbm issue reminds me of a scripture in the bible that says “The poor plead for mercy, but the rich answer harshly”. Proverbs 18:23.Its good to be rich.Alot of these ministers in government have lost their abillity to judge issues because of poverty. They just have to lick Satas boots.

    • A political job is very temporal…..and very poorly paid (unless you take bribes). Check this out…..why is it that well to do people other than perhaps HH and a few others vie for political office and leave the boardroom or international organisations like IMF, ILO, and Multinational companies to become MPs?? Simple…..from a purely economic point of view, you are better off in these posts and businesses than serving as a politician. Yes, the rich use the politicians but do not become politicians because its a temporal assignment. I pity babies like Masumba who dabble in politics without any money. HH is different in that in or out of politics he still has bucket loads of bucks just like Mwmba. Money answereth all things….according to the Bible

  6. I take my hat off for GBM. Way to go GBM, MCS has to know that not everyone is bootlicker, and poppy. Our political scene is full ba poppy with no principles, hence the reason we have opted to keep out of politics. I would rather be poor and have my dignity as oppossed to being insulted by MCS kwati ndi ndichipuba. Uko kwine bamishoonga nomunga wasabii ba MCS.

  7. Mumba + Mwamba = ( – Sata )

Sings of an PF Exodus are lingering around, from the Bemba-land. Pride, Arrogance and Egoism will bring Sata to his knees.

Sata may try to nullify as many seats as he can from MMD & UNPD, but this will kill him as he has lost his grip by rocking his boat.

This will the nightmare for the cartel.

  8. Godfrey Bwalya Mwamba(GBM), Godfrey Miyanda,Given Lubinda,Mike Mulongoti-please team up the four of you and float Given Lubinda as presidential candidate in 2016. You are guranteed!!!!!

    • Too many political parties, what they need to do is join UPND and let everyone who wants to be a president say so. Let them do debates on TV and Radio so that people can choose who should be the UPND president. But then we need an independent group to teach people how to vote and why it is important to vote wisely.

  9. why do we always make issues out of nothing , GBM is nothing compared to the likes of mwanawasa and aka the two who left MMD when it stared getting rotten and DR mumba are you giving kudos to the corrupt wife battling GBM or are you talking about some one different , reasons advanced by mr mpombo when he resigned from MMD are more convincing than this crap about bashilubemba mwadoshi mwe.

    • Pa.nyo pako! Has GBM just battered his wife after resigning! Was he not in PF as a minister all along! That tells you that wife battering is not an issue now and before! Sour grapes you little dog!

    • Ba @ta muli ‘t know bapuba and you don’t GBM as we do. Just keep quiet if you have nothing constructive to contribute. GBM has shown that principles are more important than just pandering to stupid politics.

  10. The Ngonis can now breathe a sigh of relief, taking into account that their cousins, the Bembas have come to their senses to respect, honour, preserve and protect their own genetic Traditional Rulers – THE HONOURABLE BEMBER CHIEFS.

Senior Chief Kopa of the Bisas must take measures to advise all Bisa Chiefs and their subjects to respect the Bemba Chiefs in order to restore suspicionsbetween the Bisas and Bembas, as politically engineered by Sata, Nkandu Luo and the entire Chibesakunda clan.

It will not make sense to impose a Tonga on the Ila Chiefdom, nor impose a Kunda on Nsenga Chiefdoms, nor impose a Soli on Lamba Chiefdoms. PF politicians are warned never to take the people for granted

  11. It must have been agonizing for GBM when the govt failed to recognize the rightful man to the Chitimukulu throne! What he has done is morally correct. I do not know how any sensible person would behave under the circumstances. It was tough for him just like how Chitimukulu himself and Bashilubemba were feeling. Comments can be made every which way but GBM’s action is right.

  12. MMD VUVUSELA MASTER

    THIS IS NOT NEWS WORTHY!

PROBE HIM FOR WHAT? WIFE BEATING!

    FORMER MINISTERS PROBED?
2 FORMER FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTERS WERE PROBED?
1 FORMER DEPUTY DEFENSE MINISTER PROBED?
ONLY 2 DEPUTY MINISTERS ARE BEING INVESTIGATED FOR GRAFT..
PASTOR, YOURS IS NOT NEWS WORTHY…

  13. There can never be a more sober voice to sum it up than that of Dr. Nevers Sekwila Mumba umwina Chinsali. In addition to Bemba pride It’s also about respect for traditions that have existed for centuries not only ku Lubemba but elsewhere in country. The fleeting dictator’s out bursts from a sick bed at State House do not deserve our attention anymore as they are groans of lone Woolf trying salvage a little bit of authority if there is any left, in the hope of intimidating the usual suspects-“Patients of Munkombwe Syndrome”.

    • SataN pushed GBM too much and Mwamba did the only decent and honourable thing to resign!
SataN has a short memory – we have not even forgotten how GBM saved his skin when SataN was caught with a bag of money (USDollars) which he could not explain – just like Li.ato.
It was GBM who came to his rescue in court by claiming that the money was for GBM. Now in office, SataN is a darling of the little suc.kers like Mum.embe and Nchito – what an ungrateful ID.IOT of a president! Where is his Kaun.da to advise him?

  14. For goodness sakes stop glorifying this wife beater who by that very fact shouldn’t have been in govt if women were respected in this country!

    • Dont bring your STU.PID ideas to our society! The reality is that in many cultures including Greek, Indian, Pakistans, Zulu and indeed our Zambia cultures, women are not and cannot be equal to men. That does not mean that they are not valued but YES they get beaten when they do stupid things!! That will never change even as coffers from Western backed NGOs become dry. Africa is Africa so be real!
If you want to follow your Western culture then get out Zambia and go to live in America, England, Germany, France, etc where they glorify womens’ stupidity of 3 some or Gay culture, etc. In Zambia, we pay bride price and that secures our entitlement to certain things as a matter right!

    • Chilyata you are a retard. That can be seen by your lack of logical reasoning. The world has moved on from your STUPID ideas but you remain in the cave where you justify violence by your monkey see monkey do attitude. I am a woman and I wont leave my country to flee nicompoomps like you. Iam in Lusaka and if you dare lay a finget on me or my daughters you will wish you’d not been born. All progressive Women will fight retarded men like you to the death!

  15. Why must ba Shilubemba not idolize and be proud of a son such as GBM? They surely have cause to. But are the Bisas in the succession line to Chitimukulu’s throne or are they just trying to hijack it simply because Ukwa is on the throne at Plot One?

    • The Bisas are too dull – just like their son Ukwa and their brain dead daughter Philis Chibesankundwa!
The truth is Bisas were slaves to Bembas until late 19th Century. I dont see how a slave can claim the master’s throne…that would be the start of Amagedon!

    • @Chilyata even if I concentrated on Maths and Physics I can still remember my History in high school. The Bisa are not slaves. They emanated from Nkolemfumu who was a brother to Chitimukulu.

    • @ Chilyata I beg to differ with you. The Bisa’s might have been slaves to the Bemba but that does not preclude them from being masters. Going by your logic, black Americans would not accede to the presidency in the USA. What an illogical and narrow mind you have.

    • How about you? Poor cadre who has Nothing; Will never ever be a minister; Will never own a transport company; Will never belong to the Royal Family; Will never shake hands with ba Shilubemba; AND WILL DIE A POOR LOSER!!
      Compare yourself to GBM! LOL!

  16. DR MUMBA U ARE USELESS MY BROTHER..WHAT PRIDE HAS THE PIG BROUGHT TO BEMBALAND..FOOLISH TRIBALIST..GBM Z NOT & WILL NEVER BE AN ISLAND..JUST REPENT & GO BACK TO PROCLAIM THE MISTRY OF FAITH..

    • Of course you will never understand – you are too dull or thick to comprehend these things!
By the way GBM is not the only one, ask your mother before you go far! At least GBM buys his wife a new BMW for atonement when he loses his temper! Your mother got nothing after a severe beating – not even a pin to buy Kapenta! Lol!

    • Imwe twaleni ubushilu bwenu uko. My mother has never got beaten because my father is too civilised to bring violence in our home

  17. I wonder what the reaction would have been if in the above article wherever there is the word Bemba was replaced with Tonga or Lozi? This bemba tribalist has chosen his tribe over collective responsibility and sudenly he is a hero? Where was he when the Lozi needed a hero in cabinet? Where was he when an Easterner chief was being “undressed” in public? A real hero minister is one he resigns to protect the well being of Zambians. By so doing he, by default, protects his tribe.
This is were my support and admiratiom for Nevers Mumba has come to an end.

    • Iwe, every thing is Tribalism, whats wrong with you Tribalists honestly? How about taking an opportunity in joining hands and then declaring…… “Your attacker is my attacker, so lets join forces push our differences away and sort him out as a team?” There it is, should we explain everything to you as if you are special children? Go to school so you can learn how to read btwn words, not everything is as they seem to be!

  18. GBM for Presidency. He shall convince his supporters in PF to join opposition parties and impeach Sata. Fresh elections will favour him tremendously and he stands a good chance to walkover all other Presidential candidates. Timing is so right. GBM shall act manje manje.

  19. Bembas give me hope of how to effectively mount and struggle against EVIL. Remember Kapwepewe vanguard battle against ishilu Kaunda, what of bamulopwe ba Chiluba as ZCTU President! Then you have the indomitable like Justin Chimba, Kapasa Makasa, etc. What of bashilubemba who stared the devil in the face and spanked a spitting evil cobra? And now who ever would have guessed that batata ba Mwamba would show us the Bemba balls of STEEL….inshimbi mwaume!! GBM for Presido……..abash vuvuzela Membe and his disciples like saulosi, luapula premier, matipa etc. And now its ba Mumba with Dont Kutina…..elyo yawama bola.

  20. Sata visits a chief and asks him for a vote and influence over his subject….the chief agrees in fear of being dethroned. The following week, GBM visits the same chief and asks the same thing. The chief smiles and hugs him and does a donchi kubeba on that great serpent that father of deception who was a liar from the beginning of time and in him there is no truth. He is the devil and Jn 10:10 says he come to steal, kill and destroy. He was cast out of heaven because iniquity was bound in his heart where lies and envy abound deceiving God’s people all the time. He is SataN, diablose the snake that deceived Adam and Eve that he would in 90 days turn earth into heaven.

  21. is now surrounded by his enemies. The bemba clan. We use to warm you agaisnt bembalizing the cabinet. Waona manje mambala you have no where to hide.

  22. GBM still bows down to Sata since Sata is still the PF party president. The resignation of GBM is from cabinet not the party so those of you who are praising and glorifying GBM must take this into account. GBM could have earned a lot of respect if he had ditched both Ministerial position as well as parliamentary seat under PF. As long as he (GBM) remains PF member of parliament, Sata will still be his boss FULL STOP!

  23. @Chilyata. Your comment at 16.1 is very uninformed. God, the Creator, says in His word (the Bible) that there is no difference between males and females. I hope you’re not confusing submission to inferiority or being ‘less than’. Jesus, the Son of God, submits to the Father but is in no way less God or less than the Father. Insecure men will always feel important or strong by abusing or brow-beating on their wives because of their distorted beliefs that are unbiblical.

    • @Larry: Of you are quotting from a foreign culture – the Bible – when did become African? The Bible is part of the Western Culture imposed on Africans and used to aleniate our unique traditions and beliefs which Europeans called barbaric or uncivilised!
I have been to Greece-they have mantained their culture and way of worshiping Gods and the same with Indians, Chinese, Pakistanis, Iranians, Ethiopians, etc but not Zambians !
In Zambia people like you are busy quotting from a foreign culture that doesnt make sense to the poor people in the villages. Please take your western cultures of Homosexuality, threesomes, etc to other countries – don’t corrupt our kids more than they already are!

  24. Africans cursed with the demon of tribalism. Mumba ulichinangwa.l am looking forward to the day i face u.U a vulture,a demagogue who’ll never make it.l am Bemba, mwishikulu kabilo wakwa Chitimukulu but l would rather go 4 HH dan u i di ots!

    • @Osmore: I think you are taking this out of context! Mumba is talking of restoration of the respectability of traditional values and institutions like that of Chitimukulu, my Chief Monze etc. I dont think he is being tribal at all.
This tribal thing is only associated with Sata who has polarised tribes and I think people like you and me should not fall prey to Sata’s tactics. My uncle retired as a teacher in Kasama rural and has no intentions coming to Southern Province – Kasama is his new home.
There should be no shame of being proud to be Bemba, Tonga, Lozi, Luvale, etc so long we are not denigrating other tribal groups.
In the UK, the Irsih, Scottish and indeed the English openly say how proud they are of their culture – and this causes no problem!

  25. Hubris……is MCS’s diagnosis. MCS umuntu wabipa kumenso pamo nomutima. Ati ubusuma bwa muntu mutima….awe bane not ba kateka besu. Now is the time for the yonger generation to take charge as we have witnessing a recurrance of politics of imidimation in the year 2013. Vote wisely…you reap what you sow. Miyanda & HH out as they are supporting RB’s immunity? Why do our leaders need immunity if their motive is to serve …..? Wake up people, we need a selfless leader with the intergrity of LPM…MHSRIP…real men.

    • @mp, RB’s immunity was removed due to the vindictiveness of the thieving Cartel. Since they (Cartel) have all the machinery have they proved anything? Criminal law does not make assumptions, even if you stole a prosecutor should prove beyond all reasonable doubt. Is that what the Cartel are achieving?

  26. Mumba stop lies nd don’t think de pipo u were addressing re gullible like yo supporters.Which former ministers has he dropped nd start probbing? Mulichiwelewele imwe tata!Over 50years since colonialism was rejected Africans ptians re stil in jungle

  27. Mumba is trying to work the tribalism card as if he isn’t a pastor. is that what politics or the desire for power does to people? The truth is the MMD is wishing this is the crack in PF that they can use to come back to power

  28. We need someone educated, but of course not HH with his corporate greed mentality as he benefited from the sale of our mines. His firm under valued our mines. I would prefer Muhabi Lungu, but he has no timing. He is more of a scholar than a politician? He has the brains, but his not street smart …no timing. Muhabi needs to understand that being articulate can only get him a job and not votes? I would rather take my chances with father bwalya or chipimo. I never cast my vote based on popularly. Believe me, I spoiled presidential vote in 1991 as I never believed in MMD and could not vote for KK. Let us see what 2016 has to offer? Vote wisely.

  29. Muhabi could win the educated votes (college and university)? Unfortunately the majority of our voters are ignorant (MCS’ strong base). Muhabi is a strong candidate who needs to get out of MMD and join forces with either chipimo or father bwalya. He would stand a better chance in 2021? The pathetic bwato will definately sink in 2016 and 2021 is still up for grabs. Right now the votes will continue to be split with MMD wining in the east, UPND south and some parts of N/western, Western will remain split MMD/ UPND/PF. No one will win the 51 majority and that is why PF can never enact the new constitution prior to 2016.

  30. Cetainly neither Mumba nor those children u have mentioned are fit to go to state house.Better HH.I am Bemba from kwisano of Chitimukulu but i can’t support GBM’s childishness. l can’t even vote 4 Bwalya,Mumba and Measuring tool-Chipimo.Better HH!

  31. Kampamba andye, Sata musulu nyoko, how on earth do you insult the finger that put you into power. You are the dullest president on earth, tomba nokko. Your days are numbered, mark my words.

    • @imilandu ya babemba
You are an ***** who told you GBM put sata in power? How can you insult the President like that, my friend we know the IP address for the computer you are using and the time you posted this comment, be on the look out the party will sue you for insulting the President, dont think internet is a platform to insult we need elite criticisms not insults. Do you even have parents? imagine those insults are directed at your Dad how would you feel, i end here unless you apologise ZICTA will track you down and prove to the nation that GBM put sata in office

  32. OK, resigning in the African context is a rarity but how long will this issue be discussed and be debated on? Granted the Holiday season typically rarely has any breaking news other than stupid people who shop until they drop dead but, come on, this story has no legs to carry it. Are we deliberately trying to pump some life in it to resuscitate it? GBM has told us his position and the President has acted to replace him anything else being written by us bloggers is mere speculation. Tomorrow an NGO fimo fimo will say something about GBM and again this will be headline news! Do we not have other pressing issues than to cry and mourn on the resignation of a Minister? The last I checked he was not the first defence Minister to resign so why is this creating such unprecedented attention?

  33. MP your assertion about Muhabi that he could win the educated voters or that he is a strong candidate I do not agree. On what basis are you saying this? Did you carry out any research on the Zambian voter to find out who they could vote for? Did you at least sample a reasonable portion of the Zambian voter in all districts? If answer to above is no then whatever you are writing is your own personal opinion and your own feelings about Muhabi. You remind me of some journalist who thinks they have a right to write commentaries and opinions when the real fact is that they are just trying to run away from paying their debts. On the splitting of votes between the parties I would tend to agree with you because this has happened in past elections so there is scientific evidence.

  34. I am very sure a lot of people are whispering in GBM’s ears that he should form a party. To me that would be a mistake. He would never make it as president. Sata has spoilt any chances for anyone who has not been inside a University classroom to make it as president in Zambia again. Just see at the presidents Zambia has had from Kaunda to Sata. If anyone can rate these, to me Mwanawasa was the man, followed by RB, then Chiluba, then Kaunda. Sata comes last. The reason being Sata only went as far as standard 4 (Grade 6). Kaunda form 2 and Chiluba by correspondence studies took himself up to form 5. No one buys the story that Chiluba had a University a University degree. My point? Sata is the worst president because the world is too intelligent for him. He does not understand it. Hence…

  35. Why should Dr Never Mumba speak in bemba when his is from eastern province, he should leave the bemba people aline MUMBA is from the Eastern province a Kunda by tribe

  36. I have never been a fan of GBM but I think is has taken a principled stand to resign. Our traditional leaders have been turned into party cadres and its time we restored that respect for Chiefs in our country.

All Zambians must respect GGM’s principled stand and should ensure that his decision is respected and that his political/movement freedom is not restricted by anyone.

President Sata is a specialist in political intimidation and harassment. Knowing him, he will try to use these tricks to intimidate GBM and show people that he has powers to silence people.

Zambians and all democrats from all political parties should now use this GBM case to expose this dictator and shown him who is really in charge in Zambia.

  37. Nomba mwalamwenako. This country will go up in flames! Misula yenu BA Mmembe and group. And don’t think you will escape this. BA kabwa bakantu imwe.

  38. Just enjoy your sour grapes. Bembas were lumpeneering everywhere claiming “nakambi tucili tule teka chalo” after voting for Sata in near biblical numbers thinking he was one of them. It has not until he refused to gazette Kanyanta Sosala-Manga as Chitimukulu in favour of ChibesaKunda who is a Bemba subject tribe to which Sata belongs and foced GBM out for opposing this, that’s when the Bembas saw the trick and now want help from others to resist the Satanic annihilation orchestrated by a Frankenstein of their own creation! Iyoo bane, ikaleni fye pa kenge, lekeli nomba lwakwa Noah bebele lunye, alah!

  39. The issue here is not about WHY GBM resigned but about the MANNER he went about it!

Men or women of INTEGRITY could simply hand in a letter of resignation to his / her boss before calling a press conference. But GBM had to inform and share his reasons with his cadres and kaponyas first.

Surely, people of ‘principle’ simply walk out of the former job quietly without raising so much dust like Mr Lubinda and others before him did.

    • He can’t write a letter its too complicated. The word etiquette is none existence. He is street smart but is not Educated. Only Sata who is not Educated and not street smart put GBM in that position.

  40. GBM MIGHT BE A FACTOR IN SOME PARTS OF KASAMA.
BUT LUAPULA AND CB ARE SOLIDLY AND WHOLLY BEHIND BA MUDALA.

GBM WILL BE WRITING HIS OWN OBITUARY IF HE DARES TO FORM A POLITICAL PARTY WITH BA MUDALA STILL AT THE HELM, AND GBM KNOWS IT..

  41. well done GBM come down to earth by joining or rather rejoining mmd, better still upnd to cut across the Bemba tribalism

  42. Mistake Number 1

PF officials from all corners are issuing statements in support or against GBM

CSOs all all shades and tints are also releasing statements pro or con GBM.

Opposition parties or (parties not in Govt) should not even comment as they themselves suffer resignations and defections.

    Solution to Mistake Number 1

PF through its Secretary General is the only office to issue any statement on GBM, if need be.

CSOs should be impartial and not issue speculative remarks on GBM.

MMD has unnecessarily made what can be termed unresearched, partisan and tribal oriented remarks on GBM’s issue which is unfortunate.

  43. Oyaya, I believe Muhabi would make a good president. Look at HH, he has embraced William Banda as his advisor. Advisor for what…..vigilant tactics? HH was supposed to keep away from Banda at all costs. Oyaya, Keep in mind that we have a very limited pool of credible individuals to select from? Muhabi’s past shows a bit of principle. He stuck with KK when all the fortune seekers flocked to MMD. HH has surrounded himself with the fortune seekers, hence he does not deserve to be elected president.

  44. Oyaya, give us your opinion on whom you think would make a good president among the current contenders? Disregard the popularity contest as HH would win and try to seek deeper by analyzing each contenders character/history etc.. Your suggestion of conducting a research/sample can only produce a winner of the popularity contest. We have been on this popularity route before and it has done us more harm, hence the need for us to try and utilize other means to select credible leadership. Increasing our pool of contenders would be very helpful, hence the reason I added Muhabi to the current pool? Give us some name/names…..?

  45. Ba Nevers Mumba mulibakulu abakopo and that’s the reason why u have failed retrogressivelly no ideas whatsover you will bring forward wil be received by the people u intend to rule with enthusiasm becoz u ar a failure, practical example u were once a Pastor for the Victory ministries which crumbled bcoz of your appetite for money, then two u were appointed by the then president Mwanawasa M.H.S.R.I.P,again u behaved as though u were the president, then Mwanawasa was the vise to u,FIRED.Thirdly,Bwezani appointed u ambassador to Canada u………then HE.MC Sata broght u back, failure what then can u tell us Zambians with your grave appetite dream to rule, who?to hell not beautiful zambians, never!!!!

  46. Do not trouble or insult the anointed one,God will deal with him.As a leader Mumba and as aPastor can not sink so low. That is not the young man you would want to rule, his journey has been very vivid. The all Bemba people, which Bemba people? You are not
aspokes person for the Bemba people.Zambians trusted you thruogh the Lord and He made you heal His people when you where aPastor.Mwamba is still aPF,If you want to work with him well and good, but you can not supervise Mwamba and you should honestly want him and not his money.May Godbless.

  47. MP if wishes were horses we would all ride on them my brother. If Muhabi is that principled he would still be with the defunct UNIP but he also abandoned ship when he saw the ship sinking. I ‘m not the right person to ask to select a candidate because I have my own biases based on circumstantial history. I worked with Chipimo and hence interacted with him on daily basis so I respect the young man. HH I met at ZNS and then proceeded to UNZA with him and sat in the same class. So you see why I ‘m not fit to nominate a candidate? Since you say the pool is limited I will go ahead and nominate you MP for Presidential candidate? At least you are guaranteed of my vote including that of my household. So there you are MP, I nominate you and now you should start working on your manifesto.

  48. unfortunately, mumba has shown he is a tribalist, lets just be factual. it is sad to see such blatant tribalism by one aspirring to lead a nation. bad leader and an opportunist. ba mumba mwai taya…once again…

  49. Oyaya, Zambian politics is more about enrichment/entitlement and not service? Besides, my manifesto would be considered too wired/fake for Zambia as I am what socrates described as “Too honest a man to be a politician and live.” I would honestly and graciously serve as an MP for a very minimal wage similiar to that of a civil servant. I am a firm believer of servant leadership, hence I always find myself leaning towards Fr Bwalya, despite knowing very little about him. Again, I view him as another Nevers Mumba….? I hope we shall elect another credible leader who can out perform LPM… MHSRIP. My vote will either go for Chipimo or Fr Bwalya..again only time will tell. Thank you for your positive contribution and insight.

  50. Thank you and you are most welcome MP. It is nice to have a civil discourse with someone without resorting to insults like some bloggers do which I believe puts off a lot of people. I have my own reservations regarding LPM. Yes he established a good track record for governance but it is very hard for me not to believe that he accepted a rigged election by Chiluba in 2004. On service/entitlement let us blame the Zambian voter expectations. When people leave the ministerial positions and if they are poor and start riding mini buses the very voters again start laughing at them ati ‘balipwa’ – happened to UNIP members. Between Father Bwalya & Chipimo it is a no brainer because the latter is a Rhodes Scholar. We need more people of yr kind who ascribe to the ideals of Socrates.

  51. @ 29.1 (Chilyata). The Bible does not have its roots in the western culture. Its human authors were all middle easterners. It unfolds for the most part in Asia and Africa. It just spread to Europe and the rest of the world from the 1st century AD and on. It does not condone homosexuality, sexual immorality or any other sin. Most importantly, it is the only book with prophetic utterances that have been fulfilled and are being fulfilled in every generation. The dispersion and regathering of Israel were prophesied by the Old Testament prophets and by Jesus Himself. This came to pass in 1948 and continues to this day. This is just one example. The Bible is God’s word. Pay attention to it or pay the price eternally.

  52. You are correct about the 2004 election. For some reason I always thought LPM had already resigned/pulled out of MMD. LPM was no saint, but he had the heart for the people. He had managed to restore the people’s faith in government through his quest for accountability and prosperity for all. Again at the end of it all, LPM was simply human like the rest of us, hence he had his faults/compromises. We also need to work on our voter expectations? Truthfully speaking, I am happy with the current state of affairs as voters got what they wanted…King Cobra! and probably will be smart enough to make the right choice next election. It has been a pleasure to discuss and share our thoughts in civilized manner. Thanks boss, have a nice weekend.

  53. There was a big quest to get rid of MMD the last election to the extent that people were willing to vote with their noses closed! Nice weekend to you as well my bro.

  54. MUMBA IS A TRIBALIST PERIOD. YOU FOOLS STOP CONTEXTUALIZING THIS ARTICLE TO RUN AWAY FROM TRIBALISM. IF GBM WAS TONGA AND HH SAID EXACTLY WHAT MUMBA SAID YOU SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF BITCCHES WOULD BE CALLING HIM TRIBALIST IN EVERY COMENT. SO SHUT THE **** UP.

  55. Stop voting for kneeling candidates. Let them present at least one paper each as a working document during their tenure. Joining politics and waiting for instructions is so ancient.

    • Just because GBM has resigned he becomes a Bemba hero? Nevas are all your members in MMD Bembas? You dusgrace us we Bembas by your cheap politics. Before he resigned all you MMD were accusing him of corruption. So were all these lies or you accept all elements as long as they are anti PF?

  56. I Mulenga Mulenga Kalikeka do hereby register my full support towards the move you’ve taken to resign from your position especially after declaring interest in the matter bakalamba bandi ba Mwamba!

Way to go … there are no permanent friends in Politics, neither are there permanent enemies. A sensible being can NEVER denounce his/her relatives just because of the so called politics.

  57. When GBM was minister he was always accused of corruption especially by MMD. Now he is a hero? Ok for the Bembas in Mumbas dreams. To me as a Bemba it means nothing because GBM will and will never feed me just because I am Bemba. Nevas has made a big mistake by making such a selfish and tribalistic comment. Better to say “No comment”
