Zambia Police have recorded a warn and caution statement from Mr Hichilema after he appeared for questioning this morning at the woodlands Police station.

Police Spokesperson Munganga Chanda confirmed the development to media that the caution was in connection with a statement Mr Hichilema made during a recent press briefing held that the Patriotic Front had deployed a militia to Kasama to attack Fr Frank Bwalya.

Mrs Chanda said that Mr Hichilema has been released without charge as investigations in the matter continue.

Meanwhile, Police this morning clashed with UPND cadres at Woodlands Police Station where they had accompanied their leader Hakainde Hichilema who was summoned for questioning.

Police had to use teargas to disperse the cadres, while UPND Chikankata Member of Parliament Munji Habeenzu was beaten by Police in the fracas sustaining injuries.

Mr Hichilema had to be whisked away to a safer place following the clashes between Police and the cadres.

Police Spokesperson Charity Munganga Chanda said that the fracas broke out when the UPND cadres wanted to force their way into the Police station, when Police had only summoned their leader.

And UPND Deputy Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa defended the party’s decision to allow cadres to accompany their leader even when Police had warned any misbehavior from the cadres during the questioning.

Mr Mweetwa said that there was nothing strange about UPND cadres accompanying their leader, stating that it is a normal trend for cadres to accompany their political leaders in such instances.

    • well, South Africans have gone further to describe sata as’1DIOT OF THE WEEK’ on the times of south africa. you start wondering whether development will come about through intimidation and harassment of divergent views. I made up my mind to vote this rogue regime out come 2016

    • @matipa,
I have seen and read that statement too.
It is very serious and simply shows how disliked the Zambian president is, not only in Zambia but also in the region and internationally. Zambia is isolated and shunned because of it’s leadership. Apart from his buddy Mugabe no head of state has visited Zambia.

    • The craft of public service employees working for political parties will have to come to a stop. One of the civil society organisations should take an interest and record names of all public service employees, especially the Police, who are blatantly used as “tools for intimidating” divergent views. It is nothing but an abuse of office and authority when people are being paid with public resources and yet are at the forefront of abusing and harassing citizens. The people should not do so with impunity and should be prosecuted at the end of term (of their political masters) and if convicted should loose all benefit entitlements and the people should demand the pay back of salaries paid during the time in office for when they are convicted.

    • @ Pajanza,
Am so happy to learn that my dear, you actually have made my night! I dont understand how normal someone can be to celebrate his neighbour showering insults or even beating their family member whether right or wrong! I wonder what kind or human that is, let a Zambian paper or person utter insults or pour scorn on any foreign head of state and see how their people will react. I couldnt believe when I saw the comments from ZWD, sick people!

  1. I like the hard work towards orderliness that this pf Govt is bring in, very selective mess cleaning…I cant wait to see the same speed when the tribunals for Wynter and his Ex what start…

HH is really being prepared well for 2016 Victory…Keep on PF, drowning yourselves as HH is up-sizing the UPND for 2016..

    • Ba Cycle Mata UPND will never form government and the so call HH will never be President because it is a party concentrated in Tongaland or Tonga related areas like Lenjeland and tribal cousin areas such as Lundaland

    • HH has an opportunity to make it as president but he’s too selfish, even is they made and alliance and they own they would still have a problem forming Govt and that would lead to splits.

    • Obsever and Chindume be asured that HH is de future President.Thats what most Zambian thought a bout Sata .Mwanawasa described him as a jocker .I developed a running stomarch when Sata won i could not believe it.The time for yu two guys to feel what we fealt has come.HH and most Zambians no that useless alliances will not help UPND.Sata went alone he made it.So dont think Bembas dont love HH because his Tonga thats old fashioned politics we the youlths born from Tonga fathers and Bemba mothers we are not afraid voting for any tribe and we are de majority.so do HH go wina azalila.

  2. Ba PF (Police Force), Just give it up.

We all know the PF (Panga Family) have a militia. It was unleashed during the Intra-party violence that resulted into the death of one of their own.

    Why deny facts.

  3. What a waste of everyone’s time…one word of caution though if ZP come looking for you on Friday hide lawyer up and see them on Monday.

  4. If Police used the same vigilance with the Mbandu murder case we could have hot a conviction already. All of a sudden they have all the man power they need. What a shame.

  5. What a charge! You mean the entire Police Force (Stella Libongani and Sillyman Jelly) allowed this useless thing to happen where they have no evidence? Honestly speaking we are not serious in this country. What sort of leadership do we have in Zambia that does not know that we have laws of the land that must be respected? What wrong did HH commit for the entire Lusaka police force to gather at Woodlands Police Station? How can Stella Libongani and Sillyman Jelly allow themselves such an embarrassment? This clearly shows that the two top cops are not in it for the service of the country but in it for their bellies. Why are they failing to provide professional advise to the useless PF government? Was there any need to waste taxpayers’ money on this futile exercise? PF grow up. We are fed…

  6. there is no worse things to come finena fyenu, HH is just overrated bas.tar.d!!!

ask Edith Nawakwi the behaviour of the so called HH.

    • Salima who is Nawakwi in politics.why should we ask her.we have no time we are buzy campainigng and selling our manifesto to all Zambians who want real Change. If nawakwi is aforce to rekon with let her paticipate nad win in coming elctions. In last elections HH got MORE than 500,000 and Nawakwi less than 20,000 votes. So yu see see what we are saying .watch the space.

  7. Kono kanti ki niti, niti ya chochotelela kwa malete wa mwana kayuwe! I mean, icishinka ku mutima chilaunfwisha icifukushi! What is there to even deny that the Patriotic Front had deployed a militia to Kasama to clobber Fr Frank Bwalya? Was the father not only rescued by the police from a hood of satanic PF thugs hired by the PF? And what has this statement got to do with the police? Whose interest can they be serving by arresting HH? The only interest they are saving is that of their stupid boss, Chumbu Monshololwa Chimbwi Ndwii No Plan.

  8. i CANRT BELEIVE WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR ZAMBIA POLICE SERVICE. DOES THE POLICE NEED TO DEPLOY A COMPANY PARAS ETC JUST TO DISTRUPT UPND CADRES GIVING SOLIDARITY TO THEIR LEADER HH. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO CID WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE GROUND GATHEIRNG INFORMATION AND DETERMINE IT WHTHER HH HAS COMMITTED A CRIME OR NOT BEFORE EFFECTING AN ARREST OR TALING A WARN AND CAUSION STATEMENT. I AM SAD THE ACTION OF SELITA AND SAMOYO IS DEMOLIRISING HARD WORKING PROFESSIONAL JUNIOR OFFICERS THE WAY THEY ARE HANDLING POLITICAL MATERS. THE MORE U CHARGE HH AND OTHER OPPOSITION LEADERS THE MORE THEY ARE BECOMING POPULAR JUST WAITAND WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

  9. @1.6pajanza,
Why haven’t you expressed similar views when he is being insulted by his fellow bembas in Kasama. Charity begins at home.

  10. this just warms up HH for Half Time (2016). the coach (Zambians) has seen that CNP can’t play any more, he has just injured himself (through fake promises and poor governance.) so gear up HH, your time is here. show these unlearned Congolese how to run a country corporately and efficiently.

N.B. does not make you the best choice but the only choice we gat.
    2016 = ‘president’ HH

  11. PF, the party that I so dearly & religiously supported, where have the political brains gone. Surely you cant see that you are just making HH unnecessarily popular by such senseless police harassment – you are giving him free publicity and making him important. Listen to the reason for all that fracas: “in connection to a statement Mr Hichilema made during a recent press briefing held that the Patriotic Front had deployed a militia to Kasama to attack Fr Frank Bwalya”. CLEARLY THE BOAT HAS BECOME A TITANIC AND I HAVE TO GET OUT OF IT. U are embarrassing!

  12. I call this summoning and questiong of HH as the art of political intimidation. The onus is now on HH to turn this into votes just like Michael Sata did.

Ba Sata is a very clever politician. He probably has run out of candidates in PF to succeed him and he is thinking HH maybe his only successor – to lead Zambia that is. Since ba Sata can’t approach HH to appoint him as his successor – for fear of backlas in PF, he is creating situations impossible for HH so that HH can get sympathy of the donor community and the country as a whole – all eyes are on HH now.

Whether HH understands this or not – it is up to him. HH, this is your time to become a politician – stop being a business man. The big man is handing over power to you freely. Seize the moment. I wish i was part of your team…

  13. @Mushota and salima
*****s like you two will rote in hell.As for Mushota ,let me tell you that HH will never be a parasite like you,who depends on cnp to survive.sly tribalists

  14. 2016 HH OUR REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT. VIVA HH FOR REAL CHANGE.

We the Zambian people are with you. We know the tired /haggered brains are now using the police to intimidate you. Dont worry history is already written on the walls. Remember RB. He thought he had the whole ZP behind him. But RB only came to find out that the whole guards have shifted to guard Mr.Sata only skeleton security pesronnel where there waiting for him to clear. Iam assuring you that what is happening now are indicators that Pf leadership have lost direction in managing the affairs of our beloved country Zambia. But time is ticking just wait the same police will shift camp very soon and I say very soon.
Remember the story of KK. The way KK lost favour with the Zambian people is the same way Mr. Sata has lost favour.

  15. @observer 2.2
HH and his Upnd are an organised political party who sit to strategies and therafter take a collective position on important matters. it is not about HH being selfish. why can’t you ask chipimo or bwalya or even magande who have no single MP to join Upnd if you are looking for alliances.

  16. In Africa we need tough leaders like HE Sata to hell with that SA media they are agents of the enemy Satan. Governance is not about tolerating evils schemes we have laws which are very clear if you insult the president you are reliable to face the law the undercover tell Zambians his plan.PF has performed we’ll look at the road net work, new infrastructure new universities. SA depends on us for they send goods to Congo using our roads they offload goods on our market .Zambians be like British they don’t allow any foreigner to insult their leadership.

OPPOSITION TELL US YOUR AGENDA .How do you expect Zambians to vote for you

    • We’ll done Pf…what is tough about Michael Sata? He even fails to sort out the owner of a useless newspaper who has held him hostage, even scarred of gbm, can’t even sort out his own warring party, can’t face the press in his own country…you must be a mouse to think he is tough. Or perhaps define tough for me.
He is a mere Cumbu mushololwa without any plan….

    • @Reporter at Stanley bar. Just imagine how cowardly can one be? Scared of holding a press conference! All presidents do press conference. Having not been in school this Sata is scared the youngsters will tie him in knots with their grammar.

  17. In Africa we need tough leaders like HE Sata to hell with that SA media they are agents of the enemy Satan. Governance is not about tolerating evil schemes we have laws which are very clear if you insult the president you are reliable to face the law the under five tell Zambians your plan.PF has performed we’ll look at the road net work, new infrastructure new universities. SA depends on us for they send goods to Congo using our roads they offload goods on our market .Zambians be like
British people they are proud very patriotic they don’t allow any foreigner to insult their leadership.

OPPOSITION TELL US YOUR AGENDA .How do you expect Zambians to vote for you

  18. Security men should not allow strange powders on Leaders, whether Opposition or ruling. Remember the Russian ex-agent in London and Arafat.

  19. Let us agree on common candidate that can get votes from all 9 provinces and then pursue and finish Sata and his minions once and for all. Opposition shall agree and field one candidate for presidency in later half of 2014. Sata will be gone by that time.

  20. BUT HH IS FOR 2031 BECAUSE BY THEN HIS PARTY UPND WILL BE KNOWN TO LUAPULA, NORTHERN,MUCHINGA,COPPER-BELT,LUSAKA AND CENTRAL PROVINCES. CURRENTLY FOR ANY POLITICAL PARTY TO FORM GOVERNMENT IT SHOULD BE CONTROLLING AT LEAST SEVEN PROVINCES OUT OF 10 AND NOT ONLY THREE PROVINCES E.G SOUTHERN AS HEADQUARTERS,WESTERN AND NORTHWESTERN.VIA HH 2031 HH 2031 HH 2031 VIVA HH2031…………………………………………..HH 2031.LET US TRY FATHER BWALYA IN 2016.VIA ABZ 2016 VIA ABZ 2016. COME 2016 SATA KUYABEBELE. VIVA PF ONE TERM GOVERNMENT.

  21. Chumbu Munshololwa featured as the !DIOT of the week in Sunday Times of South Africa. What more can we say? No more doubting.

  22. @Sido Mark I agree with you. Some of us our Fathers are Bembas & Mothers r Tongas and I love all of them so much.

My Vote is always GIVEN to a CREDIBLE CANDIDATE in this case its only HH.
We need Economical Managers not these vuvuzelas.

    Viva HH Viva UPND.

  23. So the under five cannot jump into his Japanese dot com pajero with his lawyer and go to answer simple questions regarding his verbal diarrhea? Under five indeed. The chap needs diapers.

    • after analyzing all the comments i Have found that none of the two is capable of running the country. PF has arrogant carders also UPND they are just copping from what PF is doing and a normal person can not support UPND . Why carders fighting with police at the police station for that matter. Police did not follow those ***** carders in the street. Why always trying to provoke police? why cant you just wait and see if your so called president HH what ever you call and see if he will be killed or not. Summon some does not me he has been arrested. What were those carder trying to do by forcing to enter police premises.

  24. When I become president noone will be charged for this. Someonespeculating on what the ruling party is doing is not doing anything criminal. Sata told the nation one time that there were fighters hiding on a farm in Chipata. Panjis farm he wad never arrested. We should have some strict qualifications for president. Degree Education must be a pre requisite. Anyone who has been to university will understand human rights much better than this

  25. Leadership is God-given mwe bantu. Just ask yourselves: How did Michael Sata end up winning the last election in the midst of so many ‘other suitable and more academically-able’ contenders with glamourous CVs? There is a great lesson to be learnt here. No matter how much people rant and rave, if the Almighty has not sanctioned, it will not happen. 2016 is coming; watch this space. Epo mpelele.
