Open Society Foundation (OSF) commends the constitution of the Wynter Kabimba Tribunal and further calls on the Minister of Justice Hon. Winter Kabimba to resign his position voluntarily and immediately. Office bearers must remember that they hold office because thebpeople of Zambia so determined through an elected Government.

We have no doubt that Mr. Kabimba understands the gravity of the assignment before the Tribunal and it will be in the best interest of justice that he steps down from his ministerial position.

This is standard practice and we expect senior government leaders, when faced with a probe, to follow this route.

PF in the Opposition and Mr. Kabimba in particular, were in the fore front pushing for former Transport and Communications Minister in the MMD regime Ms. Dora Siliya to resign her government position and she did.

We are calling on Mr. Kabimba and the PF government to walk their talk while in the opposition and give the tribunal the honour it deserves.

Government leaders must demonstrate that they respect institutions of justice and this is a litmus test for Mr. Kabimba and PF to pass or fail.

We are confident that the tribunal will receive the necessary support from all Zambians, Government and civil society.

We believe that the presumption of innocence will guide this process and that Society will refrain from being prejudicial but allow forth due proves of law to take effect.

PF has an opportunity to demonstrate that all citizens, irrespective of their status and position in government, are all equal before the law.

  1. I believe the man of actions has already asked Kabimba to resign… I am just wondering what is going through Mmembe’s mind, the cobra seems like temunobe!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • One day or another he will have to face his enemies…he is not going to be justice minister forever. The saying, “…be good to those people you step on on your way up because one day you will meet them on your way down” holds true in his case!

    • This maggot should just resign. I wonder why Kabimba forces himself coz alot of people inside and outside PF hate him passionatly including me. just resign you minient

  2. BA TAATA BASATA MUCHENJELE NABA BA MUKUKULU BALEFWAYA MUSHALE MWEKA
AND LOOKING AT THE LEVEL OF YOUR THINKING YOU CANT DO WHITHOUT WINTER SO BE VERY CARE FULL.

  3. Isn’t the heating system is faulty? Maybe the Hon. Justices didn’t want to be embarrassed at plot 1 hence there absence.

  4. Let’s see what the PF and its leadership will do about this. Where is Mmembe? He can’t talk any more, why? How come all of a sudden he’s turned out to be so dull and not commenting on any government processes like he should to do in the past? How much did Sata buy him for? What a circus of *****s………………. Kabimba has to resign to pave way for proper and unbiased investigations against him. Please show us your leadership potential or else I will not vote for you, we mbwa we……

  5. Wynter, you do not need to wait for a letter from Sata. The tribunal is about YOU, and not any other person, and as Justice Minister we expect you to know the need for you to relinquish your current government position in view of what you are about to face—a tribunal. Most witnesses will come from your ministry where you are the boss. So in the interest of justice and fair play, you need to step aside so that witnesses can be allowed to give evidence without intimidation, or fear. So THERE IS NO NEED FOR YOU TO WAIT FOR SATA’s LETTER. I hope that with this very simplified explanation, you will understand why you need to step aside. Let me know if you still do not understand

  6. Can Winter resign on his own imwe bantu? Personally i think the president needs to act and act now!!! Winter go back to your office at Godfrey House wats your problem??? Infact you were not even elected nomba ninshi uletushupila iwe??? Attaaaa

  7. Do you know Winter? He cannot resign coz he has no constituency in the first place, secondly, the guy is stubborn. Thirdly, He knows too much about Ukwa plus a kama K1.5m he fought for ka KASEBA. Difficult to go unless this is a stage-managed Tribunal to hoodwink everyone as usual and the guy will be reappointed the Dora Siliya way.

  8. Seasons baba….it could not just be summer or winter all time. Guess this rings some bells in your head as this is the only time you can prove to us that you smart,…….step down!!!

  9. Ba Winter you have been sacrificed. Look at you! The state appealed against Silvia’s Tribunal. Not yours. Why? Open your eyes my friend. You were told, you didn’t listen. Good Luck
