POLICE in Lusaka have summoned former Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba, his wife, Chama and daughter Thandiwe, to appear for interrogations regarding the tender for the supply of Zesco poles.

The other daughter, Sibongile, is also facing similar interrogations in the case.

The family members are all directors at Mr Mwamba’s Company, Arizona, which was involved in the tender for the supply of the poles.

Police spokesperson, Charity Chanda said in an interview in Lusaka today that Mrs Mwamba and Thandiwe had been summoned to appear on Tuesday next week.

Mr Mwamba’s questioning had been rescheduled to Monday next week after he requested through his lawyers Makebi Zulu and Jonas Zimba, to meet the investigators next week.

“We have also summoned other directors of the Company, who include Mr Mwamba’s wife and his other daughter, Thandiwe, regarding the supply of poles to Zesco but Mr Mwamba will appear for questioning on Monday next week,” she said.

Earlier today, Sibongile appeared for before the Police at the headquarters, but opted to remain mute during questioning.

“Sibongile appeared but she opted to remain quiet during the interrogations and will appear again,” he said.

  1. @Nostradamus
since you were not there,, i will tell you what happened, i attended Kazimu Sata`s wedding, i met president Chikwanda who asked about you, but your cousin Mulenga quickily up in and said that you Nostradamus are a `Zulu boy` like Ba GBM thats why you were not welcome like Ba GBM.
So after the wedding i went kuni Ba GBM just to say hi, but then i was told Ba GBM himself that Bashi mulenga want to declare everyone supporting the chitimukulu as unzambia

    • Ndobo, you are better than that
please refrain form getting personal about people and your tasteless stories

You make more sense when ‘ you stick to the knitting’

      Hope that makes sense.

      Thanks

    • @mushota
that called invision of privacy ,, that note is not addressed to you, so dont make tastless interjections

      no thanks

      @Dalas
respect umuchinshi… me can slap you,, oh,, if it was those days i would have already thrown one

    • @Ndobo, I was and still busy preparing legal advice to GBM lawyers.
That wedding of Sata’s son-of-a-, I couldn’t attend on “principle”, I don’t support abana ba mufigololo.
Sata wamusebanya sana, even his sons are dirty, no structure in suits. Mulenga sent me some pictures so I can share them kuli wishi. I never opened just forwarded…. ku “London”,

  2. Wa bona GBM. No wishapukisanga ni lifufana za hao za masole . No tolia batu mwa Bulozi. Ha ki fa kacenu sipulumuki sa henu kele sikufetuhela.

  3. A few months ago while GBM was still defence minister the ACC investigated both GBM(over the ZESCO tender) and W Kabimba and informed the nation that after the so called investigations they had found nothing wrong in the warding of the ZESCO tender. Fast forward February 2014, GBM is no longer defence minister, all of sudden the police have found something wrong with the tender. I must confess, I find the way the police force is being manipulated by the ruling party quite disturbing.

    • This business of persecuting family members because of political vendetta is immoral.

Where is the registrar of companies? S/he must have information about the business in question.

    • Is ACC which investigated both GBM & W Kabimba and informed the nation that after the so called investigations they had found nothing wrong in the warding of the ZESCO tender INCOMPETENT ? If that is true why is W Kabimba not being re-investigated? If GBM is corrupt then it is true that ZESCO Tender Board is also Corrupt and need to be investigated. ZESCO TENDER BOARD should have furnished ACC & Police if it believed GBM had corrupted the board. It is very clear that both ACC and POLICE including GBM are dancing to the music of PF Gov. If GBM is going to be found corrupt then some top brass of PF gov. leaders are corrupt for shielding GBM while he was in Gov. PF is doing everything in its power to bring down GBM , destroy his business & find him guilty for resigning. “Trend in Zambia”.

  4. Ati I will rule by the Ten Commandments!! This is mocking God!! Does GBM deserve this kind of treatment simply by being principled? At least this by his action, GBM has given us an opportunity to prove what many had been preaching about your character! We, the voters are watching you. Rest assured that you are on the wrong side of the majority of right-thinking Zambians, even those that might appear to be with you today.

  5. Ndobo and his friend Nastrodamus needs serious prayers for they are sick in their heads. No psychiatric treatment can work. I wonder what type of homes they grew up in. Very pathetic.

  6. Ba Police guys we are in a democracy the ruling party is not your king. Don’t let them dictate to you what to do! you guys have the power to put a stop to this criminal abuse of office by PF. I’m not supporting GBM he has something to answer for but so do all the other ministers in PF so don’t single out one person. In fact most Zambians have something to answer for we have all allowed corruption to grow beyond our control. Every Zambian should take the corruption blame not just the politicians then only maybe we might win the fight against corruption.

  7. is anyone at zesco being followed with the same vigor for not respecting the ‘conflict of interest clause’ after giving GBM a tender which was later cancelled? i guess we can pass as a country for ‘Muppet Show’. please lets see real issues being addressed other than distracting us to these non-issues!
