President Sata is in London, contrary to HH assertions that he had flown to India for medical treatment

Government  has said that it finds utterances made by   United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema  as extremely ‘irresponsible’ each time the head of state travels abroad.

This is containined in a media statement made available to the media

Chief Government spokesperson, Mwansa Kapeya said contrary to Mr Hichilema’s assertions that the President had flown to India for medical treatment, President Sata was well and was in London on a working holiday wooing investors to come and invest in Zambia.

STATEMENT BY HON. MWANSA KAPEYA, MP, MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING SERVICES AND CHIEF GOVERNMENT SPOKESPERSON ON UPND LEADER’S CONTINUED OUTBURTS ON PRESIDENT SATA’S HEALTH

Government finds as extremely ‘irresponsible’ UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema’s continued utterances against His Excellency President Michael Chilufya Sata each time the head of state travels abroad.

Contrary to Mr. Hichilema’s assertions that the President had flown to India for medical treatment, President Michael Sata is well and is in London on a working holiday wooing investors to come and invest in Zambia.

Mr. Hichilema knows very well the importance of the President’s foreign engagements which are meant to attract more investments for the growth of the economy of which Mr. Hichilema himself is a beneficiary as a businessman.

It is therefore misleading and mischievous for the UPND leader to suggest that the head of state is unwell and had secretly flown out of the country. When a head of state takes a working holiday, it means he is available and on call when and as need arises.

Government expects Mr. Hichilema as a politician who carries himself as a popular and political genius to be the last person failing to understand and appreciate a clearly worded statement issued by state house to announce the President’s departure for a working holiday.

Apparently Mr. Hichilema chose to ignore the statement and instead of checking the facts before him, he, in his usual style called a press briefing to misinform and mislead the nation.

This type of behavior only shows that the UPND leader is desperate to ascend to the highest office in the land and would use every available opportunity to satisfy his insatiable appetite to become head of state.

Government further wishes to put on record its unhappiness with Mr. Hichilema’s apparent excitement and immature outbursts whenever the Head of State either travels out on official duty or delegates such duties to his Ministers. If a Head of State falls sick, a Government will not hesitate to inform the nation on the same.

Government wishes to strongly urge members of the public to ignore Mr. Hichilema’s alarmist, unsubstantiated and irresponsible statements especially that state House cared to issue a statement to inform the nation on the President’s departure for a working holiday.

    • Kapeya is just confirming what we already know that Sata went to India for treatment.

      At no point did HH say Sata is in India. All he asked was; where is the president going to spend his holiday? As citizens we deserve to know.

      Who is senior between Kapeya and Chela?

      What is happening in PF just echoes Dr Mumba ‘s words that Sata thrives in confusion.

    • No one in their sensible mind should believe these scums because they gave misleading information on Sakeni and now we are being misled about this globe trotting health tourist. HH has a varied point in what he says.Tax payers deserve to know where UKWA is going and the reasons must be in black and white on shrouded in some George Chella secrecy.

  3. Is it just me or did I miss something? I read what HH said in Kitwe about the president disappearing and I have jusr re-read it again.

    What I have found is this: There is no mention of the word India in the article. There is no mention of treatment in the article. There is only one mention of the word medical with reference to the fact that PF leaders had access to free medicals unlike the rest.

    So my question is where are these guys getting these india , treatment , mechant of death stories from. Could it be that they are reading what we are not reading?

    Somebody help me, am confused as to what these guys are responding to. HH never said Sata was flown to India. Could they be telling us what they know. Somthing fishy here.

    • I have also read the HH speech in both LT and Watchdog ten times each and I still can’t find where he talks about MCS’ illness and trip to India. May be the minister is trying to diplomatically inform us of something we did not know but we need to know.

    • Due to confusion within their ranks, they are responding to a wrong person. Therefore the best one can do is to ignore them.

    • Don’t worry my son, you are very normal in your reading and observations. These responses are made from people waking up from sedation. They have no idea of what transpired and answer questions that have not been asked, let alone say anything that is deep down their minds. Forget about them, but watch closely least they start undressing in public, a sign of advance madness

    • Very good observation, I am equally at loss to find the words attributed to HH. However, this reaction is common to people who are afraid of their own shadows. The India story is now common knowledge to everyone even to Mr Kapeya himself because these guys read the watchdog day and night. They should have been responding to someone else not HH.

    • @MMD Chief Bootlicker, they all failed their ‘Can You Remember?’ in either grade 4 or 5, or perhaps never even went that far in their education. They seem never to remember anything. I am sure they can’t even appear on quiz shows such as Mr & Mrs because they can forget their respective spouses’ names. What a sad Government!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Government started this whole debate by their failure to announce to the public where Sata was going to spend his holiday. So when others started speculating you cry foul! What heap of bull! You guys have failed to run this country and wish to put every blame on HH. HH is miles ahead of you guys who are showing mediocre in running this country. Mr Kapeya, find something better to write about because you have failed to read the mood of Zambians. YOU ARE FAILURES! You dont even know how to defend the president. We expect you to give better responses than what you have written above. My piece of advise is that you should find other ways of lessening the damage you have already created.

    • Its absolutely shameful having to listen to these guys. It pains me to realise these are the people that Zambians have entrusted to represent us out there and present our aspirations, goals and generally ideas to the general world populace. Mwansa Kapeya is not even inarticulate – simply cannot think. He does not think through his statements, he does not go back to read what has been said before – its a miracle that he can even put his shoes on right. There is a serious competition on who is the dullest in PF. one day you get Kapeya, the next Shamenda, then followed by Kalaba…not forgetting Sichinga – my word! If allo this was planned it would have been very easy to say it all along. The Zambian tax payer thats funding this excess needs to know what they are paying for. Its not PF money.

  6. If sata has competent Ministers, he cannot risk his health and overwork himself to death on behalf of his masses of lazy Ministers. Matters of investment are a responsibility of the Ministers of Commerce, Finance, Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs. The economic, social and political environments should be conducive for investors to consider Zambia as a friendly destination. What PF did to Zamtel, ZANACO and Finance banks speaks volumes.

    Besides Sata’s health is the concern of all Zambians to pray for his speedy recovery. Why should PF mount a Project to hide his sickness. SHAME TO ZNBC! God, who holds the key to life can Hear Our Prayers.

  20. This is a circus. Lack of seriousness and running the country like its some boy scout outfit. Kapeya, facts are that State House indicated to us that the President would take 14 days as a working holiday. Destination UNKNOWN. This was prior to the Addis meeting. After Addis, he took off to an unknown location. The India angle had already been mentioned. Why did you not tell us openly then that he was heading to the UK? Secondly, the Presdient himself has said he is wooing investors from the UK. These are people he met while in Addis. Why did he not conclude with them in Addis? He has taken no technocrats with him to wherever he is to discuss anything. What do u take us for? Are you seriously that dull or you do this on purpose? Go back and read HH’s statement. This is not IFYABUKAYA!

He is the same man who called Muswati the King of Africa, said that America colonized Africa and that Taiwan is a country. I would not be surprised that the confused ***** landed in Gujarat India while thinking that he was in London Heathrow.

  30. The proper way of wooeing investors is by going with an entourage of business leaders who would network with the investors way after the meeting. This is now turning into a big joke. Are we going to be given a briefing once he gets back to Zambia? It is time this office was handled with the seriousness that is expected of it.
