Southern Province Minister, Daniel Munkombwe, has advised MMD president, Nevers Mumba, to enlist at the University of Zambia as a Religious Education lecturer because he has failed as a politician.
Mr Munkombwe, who is also Southern Province Patriotic Front Chairman, says the MMD leader has failed in various avenues of his political life and should try lecturing in Religious Education.
“Mumba was doing fine as a preacher, but since he left his preaching mission to join politics he has failed. He failed as a Vice President, as an Ambassador to Canada and now he is failing as an MMD leader,” he said.
Mr Munkombwe was speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Choma today in reaction to the issues raised by Mr Mumba when he addressed MMD party officials in Choma yesterday.
The MMD leader, Nevers Mumba, yesterday said he would continue to give President Sata sleepless nights until the constitution is released to the Zambian people.
Mr Mumba equated the PF government to Goliath in the Bible and the MMD as the David that over powered Goliath.
“The MMD shall rise and defeat the PF government come 2016, remove it out of power in a clean game just like David cleanly killed Goliath,” he said.
The MMD leader said the attacks from the opponents within and outside the party were meant to destroy the bright future of MMD.
The MMD president urged his cadres not to despair with the continued election misfortune the party had experienced recently, saying winning a by-election was not as important as a general election.
Mr Mumba said there was need for party members countrywide to remain united and focused if they were to win the 2016 general elections.
And MMD Southern Province Chairperson, Oliver Pelete, said people in the area viewed Mr Mumba as the only person who can redeem the party in 2016 hence their support for him despite tribulations going on.
Mr Pelete said the party in the province was still intact and will always remain solid.
He, however, charged that the PF government’s pronouncement of the bumper harvest was false as many districts in Southern province are calling for relief food.

I also dont like this mudala, he has no inspiration to offer to the young folks. He is quick to criticise when in government and also quick to join the same party he was oposing when it forms government.

This old man is a complete waste of space just like the appointing authority. The reason Zambia has lagged behind is that KK allowed these cobwebs into government when he should have left them as mere cadres. Now everything in Zambia thinks it can be a president. Nyerere stepped down at the right time in Tanzania which meant that he was followed by qualified leaders and not just cadres but wamuyayaya culture started by KK still exists in the parties of today. That is why even when things are clearly wrong no one speaks except such imbeciles like Chikombwe! Mediocrity is becoming a virtue!
Politics of the belly…someone is say something constructive, instead of reacting to the issues raised he is talking about lecturing. What has lecturing got to do with the constitution which has not been delivered.
“Daniel Munkombwe”has to say anything to justify his mission to eat in the Govt. What he does not know however is that Dr Nevers Mumba is in a different class from him (Munkombwe). We need sober people for once to rule the country.
NEVERS MUMBA is in politics to eat and he is using MMD Presidency to fundraise he does not care what outcome of 2016 elections will be, as long his name will be on the ballot paper he will fundraise more money, MMD should wakeup this pastor has no strategy to win an election, how can he say winning parliamentary by-elections is not important but general election this is wishful thinking of NEVERS surely how can u pass final exam when u are failing all mock exams? And MMD u are busy buying such cheap politics from this fake pastor, indeed MMD u are doomed if u can not see that this man is not taking u anywhere. OLIVER PELETE is PF mole in Livingstone everyone knows this, how do u expect to win elections with such crooks as Provincial Chairman?

What Mr. Munkombwe has just said is an abomination on the teaching profession. What Mr.Munkombwe is saying is that lecturers are useless and cannot produce or become anything in society let alone a politician. I am sure if Mr. Munkombwe has been to college or school , he has sat in front of a very intelligent and wise lecturer with the potential of taking up any position in society. LET’S THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE WE TALK.
he has never been to a college my brother. the only qualification he possesses is throwing stones to the colonialists, if ever he had the balls. but with his character, just know which side of the battle he was.

The blogs here suggest to me that generational battle lines are drawn. I hope we can follow that up with institutional battle lines because what has failed is in Zambia is a stagnant status quo of ancient structures and laws. Those in turn have allowed the sale-by dates of a lot of politicians to be fraudulently updated.
