MMD national secretary Muhabi Lungu has said five former National Executive Committee (NEC) members who were stripped of their positions still have a chance to get back into NEC as long as they follow the procedures.
Recently the MMD NEC stripped Dora Siliya, Michael Kaingu and Brian Chituwo, Lucky Mulusa and Tobias Kafumukache of their positions.
Mr Lungu said in Chipata on Monday that the affected people still have a chance to get back into the executive.
He said that the five could get back into NEC as long as they follow the disciplinary measures.
Mr Lungu maintained that the five still enjoy full rights as any other members but should abide by the terms of the disciplinary measures and show that they were not above the party.
He said that the party stripped the five of their positions in accordance to the disciplinary measures of the party.
Mr Lungu also assured MMD members in Eastern Province that the party was still very strong.
He said that the MMD would be a strong contender in the 2016 tripartite elections.
Mr Lungu said that the MMD was not a one man party like other parties which depend on individuals.
@ Dr Mumba, How can we are that you are not a man of God. Pure forgiveness. Am sure a lot of Zambians wont care about your reasoning weather its for a stronger party or the latter. All we need now is a strong opposition. halleluiah. Do more with HH now please.
Thanks
How can we surely doubt any more that you are a true man of god. Meant to say. Sorry
Please, dont bring back Dora and Kaingu not even Chituwo coz they will bury MMD
after realizing that it was a blessing in disguise to the expelled members because you do not have caliber of personnel to equate or even beat their vibrancy and relevance. too late MMD twalamifwaila inkuni
Dora and Kaingu high calibre? my foot! They could have a huge following but calibre – no! Of course liberal democracy favours fools.
They are better than the PF lunatics and useless Ministers.
Amatipa Fiko.No wonder nothing much can come from ifiko apart from hatred and blindness and lack of wisdom and focus.
NEVERS Mumba and MUHABI Lungu are now feeling the heat after expelling the 5 experienced senior politicians some of whom have been with the MMD since its beginning in the early 1990s. The truth is that MMD is already dying very fast in some provinces, since the expulsion. All this window cleaning Muhabi Lungu is doing is just failing to openly swallow his pride and ask them to return on no condition. The MMD is dead and should remain dead, until PF leaves power in 2068.
MMD was formed as a MASS MOVEMENT and did not belong to one individual. Even the brains behind it left. It does not belong to an individual like those other parties. We shall guard against anyone making it their inheritance, not Dora, not Nevers, not Kaingu etc etc. Decisions are made by the NEC and other party structures not like in other parties where even senior members are bought from other parties and given high positions to balance tribes!
You are wrong! Non of the five has been with the party from its inception.
@ Kindu … Sorry, what I actually meant is that among those expelled guys some of them are senior politicians who have been with MMD for a very long time. Dora Siliya has been MMD since leaving ZNBC…that’s long time ago. If you imagine that she was appointed to serve at our Zambian embassy in Egypt by Frederick Chiluba…and Chiluba left Presidency at the turn of the century, pakokola imwe! I know for sure that Dora Siliya joined MMD in first half of 1990s. Later, that in fact escalated her marital problems with her ex-husband Chisha. And I’m just giving Dora as an example. Do your own digging about the others.
@ wawa
I’m sure you are right that MMD does not belong to one individual. But that is not even my concern. I’m PF.
@Mwembeshi,
Point of correction, Sir.
The five were not expelled. They just stripped them off the potifolios they had in the NEC.
Please verify your facts.
Don’t be loud without details.
Mwembeshi,it’s NOT about the heat, but it’s about Voice of Unity in the New MMD rather than Voices in different directions. And further more,Politics is about numbers-So others are needed for numbers’ sake.
@Mwembeshi,why was Dora recalled?(You can also dig out).Don’t leave Dora lose-do it at your own peril.Parties which revolve around an individual, don’t last.People usually talk about UNIP,KK was UNIP and UNIP was KK.Now PF is Sata,SATA is PF-dustbin destined,UPND was MAZOKA and MAZOKA was UPND-those who remained failed to manage transition,SEJANI messed up,Heritage is Miyanda and Miyanda is Heritage etc.Only MMD is a mass Party,so very unlikely to die.Others ,just wait what will become of them especially PF.
@Mwembeshi-If indeed they qualify to be seniors, then they should have known how seniors behave.Seniors behave properly in a dignified and unifying manner and not in a disgraced, divisive manner and being traitors. This kind of seniority is not welcome in the New MMD.
@Mwitumwa
Which numbers are you talking about? If MMD has the numbers WHY did they lose elections in 2011? If MMD has the numbers why did they lose KATUBA by-election? You are in denial.
@ CP
What difference does it make for the 5, whether expelled or stripped? The fact is they are out of the picture. Infact, the next disciplinary stage is expulsion. Muhabi and his yo-president are now realising how many members they have been losing since the daft decision.
FINALLY, I’M NOT CONCERNED about the wrangle…infact the wrangle is good for us…I don’t care who leads MMD…if it’s Mumba even better for PF because he is an empty-head. My only case is that MMD should not have the audacity to be criticising PF when they can’t even run their own party in opposition.
Muhabi sounds like a headmaster talking to expelled grade 7 pupils that they would be allowed back for revision before the Exams if the show remorse. My foot just continue driving MMD down on a slop like a bicycle without breaks.
Those guys have move on, belong to a political party is like belonging to club, association is voluntary.I can assure you that you have hurt many people who believed in Mulusa, Dora, Kaingu, nand Chituwo. The four may comeback but without their supporters who have joined other parties or will stay put.
indiscipline never grows a party, never
Muhabi and his master Nevers are not going anywhere with the MMD. Nevers and Muhabi Lungu have managed to alienate everyone. They not long ago toured Western Province but they excluded their 9 MPs from that region in their tour……how s.tu.pid!
@Gogo-Dr Mumba and Muhabi are going very far because they’ve got a VISION for ZAMBIA.The Bible says:Where there’s NO VISION my people(God’s people) perish. But Dr Mumba has a VISION for Zambia, hence the Statement of Faith-Zambia Shall Be Saved from so many wrong things. With God with him,it shall come to pass-whether you believe it or not.
@ Sir Nyambe
God is irrelevant in this story. You people who can’t put together a logical argument always like rushing to God even over silly things. Stop quoting unnecessary scriptures here. Just tell us the truth: WHAT IS MUMBA’S VISION? The truth is YOU ALSO DON’T KNOW, and the reason is because MUMBA HAS NO VISION. Stop talking about God when it is just a simple issue of reality…it’s a daft strategy. If Mumba has a vision, why has he decided to just share it with God?
Ni party yama jockers iyi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MMD offers CLIVE to NEC position? Thats the greatest catch of the year for MMD to invite CLIVE CHIRWA PROFESSOR WHO WAS fooled by PF by giving him CEO of zambia railways and later stripped him off. Consider the action by MMD prof who knows u might be presid3ntial candidate of MMD , also remember MMD is coing back to power in 2016 just like the former rulling party DDP of malawi came back
ba LT where is my comment , i posted yesterday? i saw it but now deleted , why ?? if any poblem contact me on my cell number or email ATASE
Nevers and MUHABI. A team made in heaven. You are steering MMD and Zambia to a new dawn. Zambia you have not seen anything yet. Just watch this space.
