The National Restoration Party (NAREP) has challenged House of Chiefs Chairperson Her Royal highness Chieftness Nkomeshya Mukamambo the third to come out in the open and tell the nation on whose side she is regarding the continued harassment of traditional leaders by the ruling patriotic front government under the leadership of President Sata.

NAREP General Secretary Bwalya Nondo noted that Her Royal Highness has conspicuously been quiet over the continued harassment of traditional leaders by the PF hence the call by the opposition to have clarification from the Chietness as head of House of Chiefs.

Mr. Nondo challenged Her Royal Highness to categorically state her position on the recent threats by the government through Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkadu Luo that chiefs masquerading as chiefs should be arrested which was in apparent reference to His Royal Highness Chitimukulu elect Henry Sosala.

He said Her Royal Highness should come out and show that she is not partisan by condemning threats and properly advising the state as situation where traditional leaders are becoming fugitives in their own country should be contained immediately.

Mr. Nondo further called on Chietness Nkomesha to show leadership as the chairperson for House of Chiefs and advise republican president through Professor Luo to stop “pocking their noses in the traditional affairs” of the country as the constitution does not allow them to do so.

Yesterday during a press briefing Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Minister warned that the state will not hesitate to imprison anyone masquerading as a chief when they are not.

    • People in NAREP are butch of kids. They just came from talking of electing another republic president, now they think of Nkomeshya to help Bembas.

  1. The Chitimukulu issue is a great misnormal. The govt got it wrong and still has it wrong. Its a self created problem and it will back fire in due cause. Passage of time has answers.

  2. Thats a very gud move by NAREP to challenge the House of Chiefs Chairperson Her Royal highness Chieftness Nkomeshya Mukamambo. coz her being a chairperson in th house of chiefs she shud state on how th house of chiefs is thinking about th issue that is in th Bemba land.

  3. i don’t think she can say anything is this not the same lady Sata was organising Kaunda because if she was neutral she could have said something by now pure cadre.

    • What have you done about the new constitution which Sata has refused to give you? I would have thought that was far more important than this Chitimukulu issue.

  4. I think Nkomesha still remembers Rupia Banda’s threats to dethrone her and does not want a repeat from Uncle Charles !

  5. I think narep should join upnd. They always wait for hh before they comment and most of the times they just duplicate or photocopy or forge what hh says.

  6. Narep are u going to feed Chieftainess Nkomesha when she is fired by pf,let the bembas fight for their rights by ensurìng pf stops the rot or else quietness means the bembas are working with pf period

  7. don’t worry, my civilized chief mukuni has already them. gazetting is just for allowances… which chiefs can do without. Let those who don’t want to recognise him remain. a new government will recognize him. you can fool some pipo all the time but you cant fool all the pipo all the time

  8. And you call this luo a prof? tell me, prof in what? what has she accomplished? we know chirwa is a prof for what he has achieved than this pf cadre luo.

  9. I have to say, Sata’s PF philosophy of governance of the Country is the exact opposite of the developed World’s philosophy. Countries that are developed today, like here in UK, got to this level by nurturing its people’s centuries old traditions and norms. For instance, UK has what is called ‘Listed Buildings’- these are buildings of a certain age which are protected by law from any alterations by owners. This is to preserve tradition. A people’s tradition is a people’s backbone.
Developed Countries are founded on a tradition which has its roots in a village concept, hence the Listed Buildings for one.
I can therefore categorically say Sata’s PF had got it the wrong way round by making ‘gazetting’ a Chief by Govt to be more paramount than what the subjects have decided..

  10. Soon hw will start appointing who our MPs for all constituencies will be including for opposition parties. Dictatorship is in his blood.

  11. Why should Chieftness Nkomeshya Mukamambo indulge herself in a clearly Katangese internal wrangle? No, leave her alone, let Bembas tear each other apart, we are sick and tired of these creatures of Ituri destroying our country.
