Dr Kaseba is scheduled to officially open the workshop on Wednesday where she is due to give inspiration to the girl-children drawn the six districts of Muchinga Province.

The main thematic area the First Lady will tackle is the issue of teenage pregnancies and early marriages.

The First Lady is also expected to take part in the early morning road-run with the girls and a visit to some of the heritage sites among other activities.

Speaking when the First Lady’s advance party paid a courtesy call on him, Provincial Permanent Secretary, Bwalya Ng’andu, said there is need to change people’s mind-sets.

Dr Ng’andu said the girl child needs to be protected and nurtured because they are the future leaders of the nation. He said the levels of teenage pregnancies in the province are worrying and call for concerted efforts in the fight of the scourge.

Dr Ng’andu said there is also need to educate the girls and their parents on the beauty of being educated in society.

Speaking earlier, Chinsali Central Member of Parliament (MP), Christopher Mulenga, who is also Education Minister, said the situation needs urgent attention.

Mr. Mulenga said communities should also add their voice in this fight and take part in the fight because these pregnancies are affecting their society.

Forum for African Women’s Educationalists in Zambia (FAWEZA) Executive Director, Agness Shipenuka, said Muchinga Province has the lowest rate in terms of teenage pregnancies.
Ms Shipenuka said despite the province recording the lowest cases of teenage pregnancies, there has been a steady increase in the recent past.

  1. Thats the way to go my favorite first lady, we love you. please convince your husband to appoint team Given Lubinda as Veep and successor, tatulefwaya ama under 5 mu plot 1

    • There is no chance the first lady would leave the President if he was unwell.

The fact that she is Chinsali whilst he is left alone shows he is too busy to follow and is doing so well that he doesn’t need any support.

This should serve as a warning to all disciples of UPND in-terms of expertise finesse and doing things eloquently.

A transparent leader of the magnitude of Mr Sata is priceless.

Please pray for his excellency to lead us into higher levels up to until 2021

      Thanks

    • wow! Dr Kaseba is interacting with Zambians,, she is not hiding,,,,, she is better off acting president than kabimba!!!

hold on a second! She looks like has also gone UPND,,, thats the sign of forward HH 2016,,,,,, mamamama there are signs everywhere,,, change is coming, 2016 please come quickly

    • Your Given Lubinda is an agent of the BRA. He is one of the people secretly championing the restoration of Barotseland. Given is a sellout and cannot be trusted by the PF.
I wonder why you have to comment without mentioning the favourite son of the soil at the moment, HH.
On another note, some of these women are really cruel, your husband is sick and dying, you ignore and use him just for your continued stay as first lady sure. Just like chali kuli ba Dr Maureen Mwanawasa. Surely these women we marry can be cruel.

    • The unfortunate truth most are not even considering is that First Lady, Christine Kaseba would actually make a great President for the smart people of the Zambian Enterprise. All she needs is a full backing from cabinet and an endorsement from MCS.

The great United States of America are electing the first Woman President in 2016, all things being equal and I see the smart people of the Zambian Enterprise inclined to go the same way.

The First Lady is such a great politician and has the full PF apparatus at her disposal. This will surely irk some male chauvinists in the party with similar aspirations but they would easily get over it once she is elected at the convention. She is in a far much better place to be the next President than even Maureen was.

    • Educated she is but the happenings in State House are not showing this so much talked about education. She seems not to know when to be serious. May the intelligence has been averaged with that of the husband; remember they are on two extreme ends of the line!

  2. She’s the next presidential candidate for PF after all Sata worked hard to establish PF. PF belongs to Sata. Sata and PF are synonymous.

    Go girl…… it’s campaign time.

When was Dr. John Phiri fired as Education Minister?

  5. Where are the ‘alangizi’? The lady has to make sure the man receives 100% attention. I hope she will not go to hide in Serenje. We can arrange for Mulenga’s mother to stand-in for two weeks if Kaseba is tired of the hiding game of Sata.
We all know how frustrating this can be.

  6. Of course she will go to Muchinga and leave the ill man in Lusaka. This is not to say he’s healthy but rather and attempt to project a semblance of normalcy in State House. Senile dementia does not go away though at times one can temporarily regain sanity. Unfortunately, that same sanity can go without warning leaving a demented man in public.
