Opposition Movement Multiparty Democracy President Nevers Mumba has accused the ruling PF Government of treating people living in rural areas like second class citizens the same way colonial masters treated Zambians.

Speaking when he addressed a rally in Mangango at Chatwika School, Dr. Mumba said it is wrong for the PF to continue treating people in rural areas as though they were lesser citizens than those in urban areas.

He accused the ruling party of discontinuing all the infrastructure development which the ruling party started without a care of the consequences of such decisions.

He explained before his party was kicked out of office, it had embarked on ambitious programs of building infrastructure such as schools, clinics and other development projects but that what the PF has done was the complete opposite.

Dr. Mumba also noted that the PF is not listening to complaints of the ordinary citizens.

“Everyone in Zambia is using a cell phone but here in Mangango you don’t have the ability to speak on the phone because you don’t have a tower you are Zambians as well and you need what everyone is having.

“I and my party are committed to ensure that we continue where we left before we were voted out. We had programs which were empowering people in rural areas such the fertilizer input support program and infrastructure development such taking schools and clinics to rural areas which the people in government have discontinued.”

He added, “Development should not only be for people in urban areas and Presidents should not only be Presidents of people in Lusaka or Copperbelt but for everyone in the country. If there is development is for people in Lusaka, Kitwe, Livingstone and Ndola, what about the people in Mangango?”

Dr Mumba stated, “MMD now condemns the enslavement of our rural communities. PF is treating you people here in rural areas like the colonizers, the white people used to treat us when they were here. You are being treated like second class citizens, they don’t care about you, they think you don’t need a phone but they do, they think you don’t need a hospital but they do, they you don’t need a road but they do, they think you don’t need food on the table but they do, they are treating rural communities like second class citizens and must stop that this is a jubilee year; 50 years after independence all of us should benefit from the development that is coming to this country.”

  1. i am a hypocrite people. i like to stab my fellow brothers and sisters in the back. i will win the election by winning the hearts of the dum poor people in Zambia. they are so dum that even the slightest attention to them gets their blood excited. you rich Zambians will see the day i am chewing on your taxes to make myself ridiculously powerful.

    • Damn, for once I thought it was Sata joggging in the villages. Anyway , am sure he is fit and jogging in the grounds of State House

    • But we told you that Sata is a thug, no iyoo pabwato man of action, where is he now.? MMD is dead the only hope we have now is to try HH2016

    • I never liked the MMD, I will die a UNIPist but I love the smart people of the Zambian Enterprise, I am a real patriot. I think that the MMD wasted 20 of our precious years mostly taking the country backwards and not forward.

Imagine where we could have been if they worked as hard as we in UNIP did in the our first 20 years in office and just as hard as PF in their 2 plus? I will be the first one to admit our last 7 years were lousy because of World Bank and IMF policies.

Somehow we were oblivious to the fact that Zambia was not an island and many other things thus the rise of the smart people of the Zambian Enterprise against us. Having said that Dr. Mumba is doing and talking about all the right things that will soon land him at State House. Maybe not 2016, but he will soon.

  2. Ba Nervous we appreciate mingling with us the lowly but please don’t forget us when we play a part in helping you get to plot one.Leaders have this tendency of forgetting where they coming from.

  3. I like this: Mumba has a vision. Mumba is seeing what most of the leaders are not seeing. He sees the existance of black colonialism being perpetrated in the rural areas. Mumba is seeing an oligarchy of government at Lusaka. May be he also sees that Zambia needs a second and full liberation of the rural masses from the york of the elite ministers in Lusaka – the black colonialists! Zambia needs to give power to the people: democracy, away from the so-called ‘meritocratic’ and autocratic rule at state house.

Really, Zambia needs to be served!

  4. The pic where he is praying for SOME1 IS A TOTAL DECEPTION ths is Judas in the making, a prank-ster !!
Bukuluku ba Nevers !!! DONT MOCK MY JESUS do your POLITICS WELL OTHERS you will be the MOST DISGRUNTLED CREATURE ON EARTH !!!
We know you r a REAL CONMAN PASTOR, ba Pente chabbe I wonder whch God u worship ?

  5. I cannot agree with Dr. Mumba that PF is treating rural citizens of Zambia as second class people. PF is trying to look even on the other side of the coin by improving road net work infrastructure in rural places that never had tarmac before. An example of Mporokoso – Kasama road. No one thought that the very road would be tarred at this particular time. It is not everything that can be improved upon. MMD did its own part by selling whatever UNIP built or installed. So Dr. Mumba, I don’t think you can come and make a difference if by chance you were elected to the highest office of the land! Politics at play!!!!

  6. Copperbelt, Lusaka, Luapula, Muchinga, and Northern Province are been cared for by the tribal and regional PF government. LT is equally regional. It tends to promote campaigns of PF , NAREP and MMD for very obvious reasons. We’ve seen campaign pictures of both PF and MMD on this site but none for UPND, why?

  7. I pity Nevers for telling lies as a clergy. Nevers when you where ruling you wanted to privatise the schools so why should tell those lies to the people of Mangngo. Shangombo is lit(electrified)no more darkness-this is remote isn’t it? Roads, twapapata ba Mumba wesu landeniko fimbi.

  8. I wonder wether mmd treated them any better , when they all the campanies unip built to their greedy , helped by thieving HH now wants to condemn the innocent for their crooked ways

    • Bravo! I like the fact that HH ‘s name is in printed in your brains you PF minions. This just confirms that you know that there is a huge possibility that he is wining 2016 general elections without a doubt.

  9. No pictures of his campaign rally? I guess the attendance was too poor to be publicized.
I don’t remember Nevers Mumba visiting rural areas when he was vice president.

  10. Just observe you may not see the names of Mushota, Saulosi or Kudos and others Here, Why? because they are searching for the Name HH. immediately it pops up they will wake up from slumber armed with all sorts of insults against one person. They true are hypocrites, simple as that.

  12. PASTOR

PLEASE TELL THE PEOPLE HOW THEY WERE TREATED BY THE MMD GOVERNMENT, YOUR PARTY?
    OR
HOW DIFFERENT YOU WILL DO THINGS WHEN U ASSUME POWER IN 3016!

  13. It is MMD while in power which treated people like animals. No wonder they rose against that regime. Like in the animal farm fable, MMD used to say four legs better, two legs bad. The majority were two legged. But your campaign in Mangango is welcome. The little support you are getting will go a long way in putting PF at a vantage point to scoop the seat because your MMD and other small parties contesting the seat will split their votes.

  14. Actually, Zambians in general suffer from an inferiority complex. There is always a presumed superiority over Rural people perceived as ‘uneducated,’ or ‘poor.’ The truth is; rural people are the backbone of Zambia and the keepers of it’s pure, unadulterated culture. Rural people are often portrayed as the poor that the West must assist our gov’t in providing developmental projects for. The West pour this money into Zambia after seeing malnourished children on their TV screens being portrayed as starving people. A lot of these Aid programmes target their contribution for Rural poor. However, most of that money is siphoned away into private pockets. That is the irony in this facade; That in fact it is the rural poor who fill the pockets of Urban development through Aid for…

  15. Pipo shud just say PF shud leav becoz they also want to rule and uplift their standards of living. Zambians have seen how this country has been turned into a workshop evry where there is work. what more do you want? come 2016 opposition will still be opposition

  16. A physically Fit President who will promote physical fitness in the Nation and lead by example not these leaders who just go into leadership to fatten themselves and just claim they are fit and anyone can meet him in the ring for only two rounds…….lol!

bushe ba Hh baliba fit kwena……..? just thinking?

  17. The irony is that in fact most of the money for development projects are provided to lift urban poverty. To treat rural people as 2nd class citizens is therefore an elitist snobbery; albeit a misguided perception. The rural poor have been providing for urbanites since forever. If any Zambian feels they are better than ‘ruralites’ (to coin a new phrase) then they are grossly mistaken. Rural Zambians are THE REAL AFRICA. They deserve to have electricity, tap running water and good infrastructure. Rural leaders should make sure to get their goodies during this election period. Withhold your votes and make sure the gov’t of this country understand; YOU ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!
