UPND President Hakainde Hichilema says that the PF government through Mr. Sata should leave government because they have failed.
Speaking when he addressed a public rally at Kazomba market on Thursday afternoon, Mr. Hichilema said that it was clear and that Zambians have seen for the selves that the PF has failed.
Mr. Hichilema told the people at Kazomba that the reason the cost of living and price of commodities is going up on daily basis is because
of failure by PF. “Our headline massage as UPND is that PF has failed to run this country. Today farmers in Zambia are the worst hit by poor PF Government policies in the country. They are in government without ideas, all they are doing now is to fight and call each other tribal,” he said.
“PF is a ground of liars who can lie shamelessly in the morning, afternoon and in the night. We in UPND have quality leaders who understand economic policies and governance.
We are giving you Dawson Kafwaya as a process of forming government in 2016. We want you people of Solwezi to reject these liars and failures,” said Hichilema. He said that it was unfortunate that President Michael Sata and the PF wanted to take the people of Zambia for granted. “We are being beaten, attacked, and harassed because we keep reminding
the PF of its obligation as a government. Now because of running a clueless government, they feel threatened with our message we are
giving to our people about the need to re-examine the failed PF. Our message is clear and precise,” said Mr. Hichilema.
Hichilema also bemoaned the bad state of the Chingola-Solwezi road, he said “I was driving from Chingola-Solwezi this morning and witnesses five accidents. This is not acceptable.” Mr Hichilema quipped amidst shouts of shame from the packed arena. Mr Hichilema also told the crowd that the benefits of the mining activities in Solwezi have not trickled down to the people of Solwezi and North Western Province because of lack of policy by the PF Government. They have reduced Zambian’s participation in mining to labourers who are at the mercy of investors. He directed the incoming MP, Kafwaya to engage the mines immediately he is elected to ensure that Zambians played a bigger role in the mines.
For sure ths Govt has failed us. BUT PERSONALLY I THANK Mr Sata. Its only tht the MAN GOT OLD BUT ‘he is still’ the “the Man of Action !!

PF rigged the elections in Mangango through Mwaliteta. They staffed the ballots and cheated UPND. They will do the same in at least 3/5 of the sept 11 elections. UPND needs to protect the vote. It is futile to have all these crowds only to be cheated on D-day again and again. This should be your number one priority. If you do this then NW province and Mukushi are in the book for you. Eastern Province is a tricky one for you.
HH always calls him MR. SATA… always. But Sata called RB = MaRubbish, and Mwanawasa suffered with Mwanawaya, Cabbage its even sad for me to repeat those insults.

Be honest with yourself UPND may only scoop 1 seat Zambezi- West. UPND attracted a lot of crowds in lusaka prior to 2011 elections only to get 11% of the total vote. I can assure you that the situation on the ground is that PF is very popular and will scoop the Solwezi-Central seat.

HH will be shocked when national election results are announced. The PF Government has gained a lot of support especially from government workers who are are now well paid .The lowest salary today for any government worker is K3,000 or $500 per month .The Government gave an increment of over 100% to workers against a cumulative increase of 13% inflation. UPND could have been more popular today had it accepted to continue its political pact with the PF. UPND will not manage to win a national election.

It is not true that PF has over borrowed. Zambian’s total debt including the recent$1 billion euro bond is $7billion against it’s Gdp of $22 billion unrebased or about $26 billion rebased .Results of the rebased economy show that our Gdp is bigger by 25%.Even with the unrebased Gdp figure of $22 billion, the debt to Gdp ratio is only about 32%.At this leve l of debt an economy can not be considered to be in a debt crisis. It is only when a debt to gdp ratio exceeds 60% like is the situation in Ghana can you raise concern about debt sustainability.
@Zebron, You are correct when you say a Debt to GDP ratio of 32% is within safe margins, I have no quarrel with that. My concern with this government is that the borrowing and spending is focused on consumption rather than establishing means of production for a stable and sustainable economy. Zambia can do itself a huge favor if she invested in two Oil refineries, one in Western Province and another in Eastern Province. Then she can export some of the refined petroleum products to neighboring countries like Botswana, Namibia, Congo and Malawi. You people in PF just need to think more and talk less.

I would like to hear solutions from Mr Hakainde; if Zambians are to change leaders in 2016, the change agents should bear a different message from this. I just think that sometimes he misses opportunities to make himself different; he needs to be issues based and less of a populist with a scattergun approach. As an example, he talks about 5 accidents on the Chingola Solwezi road to illustrate how the government has failed; does the government now drive cars and trucks on the roads in Zambia? How realistic is it to expect an MP ensure that Zambians play a bigger role in the mines when these are private companies (he won’t). HH should therefore consign populist pronouncements and negative campaigning to history and offer a vision of what he can realistically achieve (he will not stop RTAs)

We want a situation where you can know the price of agriculture produce for the next season even before planting. That way you would be in a position to plan properly and decide how much you want to plant. But we have people in government who cannot even distinguish between basal and top dressing fertilizer. Mr. Sata and his team cannot even distinguish between beans and maize seeds,” In this statement, cant you see what HH is saying will do? Are you ok upstairs?

What yardstick did you use to come to conclusion that PF and Sata has failed? In my opinion Sata will leave a very successful legacy and if it had not been for his unforeseen circumstance the President has found himself in, he was going to show everyone that the rest were children!
Democracy is about numbers, if you are not popular in Lusaka, Eastern, Luapula, Muchinga, Copperbelt, Central, and Northen Provinces can not be a President of Zambia. Southern Province taught Zambians how to vote.

As your flag indicate USA possibly you can recall the the economic turndown and USA embarked on infrustracture development to accelerate the economy this is what PF is doing to open up the areas that are not taped and create access to markets / jobs through infrustracture development. This in turn will reduce urbanisation. Again the $115m in min of agric, don’t just give power money for the seek of spending. HH has always said he is one of the richest man in zambia how can he feel the hardship if he has money it’s a mockery at its best.
