Edgar Lungu’s lack of vision is insulting to Zambians – Kapita

Kambwili and Lungu addressing the crowd
Kambwili and Lungu addressing the crowd

We are now well into the campaign period for the 20 January 2015 presidential elections and the candidates need to be laying out a strong and clear plan of action to address the challenges we face and move Zambia forward. It is therefore shocking to hear that Lungu has no vision for the country other than continuity.

Continuity is not enough. The suggestion that continuity is enough is an insult to those farmers across the country that have gone unpaid and who are struggling to plant for next season or send their children to school, it is an insult to those students who have not received bursaries or been paid their allowances, and it is an insult to those workers who have seen a wage freeze at a time when the cost of living is rising all the time. I could go on but you get the point. 60% of our people are living in poverty and something more is needed.

I urge voters not to get caught up with this or that token gesture from Government in the campaign period.

Judge them based on performance of the last 3 years, not just these 3 months up until elections.

I also urge the Zambian people to challenge Lungu on his statements regarding mealie meal given the fact that the PF Government has had 3 years to address this problem and during that time they have only managed to increase the price. Independent research undertaken by the JCTR earlier this year showed a serious rise in the number of Zambians now dependent on pamelas. Is this a trend we want to vote for in January 2015? Is this the kind of thing we want to see more of?

A President needs to be a leader with a vision and the drive, commitment and energy to achieve this. The Zambian people are hungry for change and we cannot continue just to live day-to-day hoping some improvement might come about.

Richard Kapita

    • We need Miles Sampa nothing else

I am sick and tired of mediocre leadership

HH has never won any political contest, Lungu,i dont even know where to start, the man offers nothing.

Sampa, as a Harvard graduate, is the way to go

      Thanks

    • I cant tell which of the two evils below is worse;

      1. Giving “empty promises” of free education and free healthcare while mortgaging a nation to foreign mining firms (Not inetrnational Health providers or Educational institutions) or

      2. Being truthful and not promising anything because you have “no vision” for Zambia, but belong to a bunch of CNP’s.

What I can tell is that Zambia needs to take a step back and start to clean up our politics and international reputation. We need a good constitution and to start uniting behind our “One Zambia, One nation” motto.

    • UPND, KAPITA LACKS SENSE OF HUMOUR. CONTINUITY DOES NOT REQUIRE ONE TO GIVE HIS VISION. WAIT FOR 2016 THEN YOU WILL HAVE IT. INFACT THIS IS THE LAST ATTEMPT UPND IS TAKING. HH WON’T BE ALLOWED BY YOUR TEAM BECAUSE OF FAILURE.

    • I never thought I would be embarrassed of my own country. We have a quality leader in HH with plans to rebuild and reinforce the economy yet we don’t want to give him a chance and are happy with the status quo. This has just shown me that tribalism cannot not be attributed only to one tribe in Zambia. This also makes me think a number of people supporting PF are somehow in their jobs due to nepotism and if PF gets booted out they will lose their jobs. Otherwise I question the sanity of anyone thinking EL is the right candidate. When did our standards as a country fall so low?

    • The Answer is straightforward. Zambia needs change. we can not have lairs continuing to lie with no delivery. PF have failed and if we are not careful. we will be worse than current situation.

Zambians god loves you and has given us a chance to Change for better. Vote for UPND as it is our only hope for now. And if they also lie?? You know what?? We are children of god and our prayer will be answered as well.

We are at cross roads therefore it’s a Deliver, Do or you Die like PF.

Come Jan 20.20.15HRs, HH2015 will land at plot one.

    • Zambian is in trouble. When you have a country where people no longer care about leadership credentials of a President as long as that person hails from their region or a region that they are comfortable with, know that the country has no future. This is the condition that Zambia is in right now.

    • Mushota I like because you are a comedian and the way you comment makes my day. Nomba beniko decided naimwe. Last week you said you are going for HH nomba fya chinja shani, mulebako serious ba Mushota

    • It’s this the same drama as when LM passed, Magande was clearly to more qualified of the two MMD candidates but he was not a corrupt person and the MPs knew that much of them would be out of a job at best or jailed for theft at worst; so they sided with RB that they could easily manipulate and steal with impunity.
You see I have come to see Zambian politics (or more clearly put…”poly-tricks”) for what it is, the crooks control the parliament and will not allow any well-meaning person to be elected as president and they will continue to feed off the nation until the end of time… as Marley song says… “total destruction is the only solution.”

  1. Ba kapita have you forgotten you case of******? is this the vision you and Up and Down party want to bring to the country

    • Kapita…..you don’t attack your opponent directly and you don’t single out just one Candidate. ..this shows that the candidate you’ve mentioned is the one causing you some sleepless nights….and so far Edgar is home and dry..just waiting for January 21 so he can pack his tukatundu in Kabulonga and move into State House…chapwa

So Ba Kapita tell your boss HH to keep promising

      2015 vote PF ( Edgar )

      I thank you

    • what kind of baffoons nominated edgar lungu as a presidential candidate; the guy is just another incompetent fella who has been staged as the PF clown because there was not anyone really with the competency of being a president in the party; they might as well put up a mascot as a party president;

      on the other hand

HH is one of us guys and he knows how to lead with honesty; I give him all our support; the guy is there to improve zambia for now we should be serious with our elections and improve the country for our kids and for generations to come.

Vote for HH people for a truly better zambia and not the PF clowns

i Zambia i nation “ba ficala”

    • Lungu confessed that he has no vision apart from continuation of PF and Sata’s hypocrisy, lies, confusion, corruption, tribalism and violence.
Vote PF out and only 42 days left till they are completely kicked off.
      Good Hon Kapita.
If Zambians vote for PF again, they will continuously remain in suffering poverty, hunger, dilapidated health services, unemployed because Lungu and his clueless PF have miserably failed.
Its a worst of time to even look at PF, let alone, them splashing more of their Donchi Kubeba sickness.
      Tired of PFs lunacy mweeh!
Even comrade Munkombwe stands chance, because people won’t be short of food, atleast he cares for people to have food to eat on their tables on infinitely.

    • It’s a worry, you make a good case. Empty rhetorical and over promising political goal to land in a coveted job or visionless politician?

    • PF is a socialist party but is now a corrupt nepotistic party full of crooks and hoodlums per Post editorial of 8 December 2014. Membe says people that got jobs in PF were hired based on tribe and patronage……shaaaaaaaa!

Or is Membe bitter? Or have the birds finally come home to roost?

  2. We have been singing about this lack of vision for a long time – it is bad for a Nation. When i look at my 6 month baby she even looks more uptight and thoughtful than this Everyday Loser (EL)

    • Uleke ukufyala mambala naukota. On a serious note, the only people expected to vote for Lungu are kaponyas, there’s absolutely no reason why a normal person would vote for someone without a vision. Politics is about about inspiring the masses, lifting your nationals spirits even in times of strife such as wars and poverty. Poverty alleviation for example must be first and foremost a vision for every candidate and to hear that ba Lungu got no vision at all is troubling to say the very least. Even poor old Miyanda has a vision for his country so people open your eyes. PLEASE PEOPLE ANYONE ELSE BUT LUNGU AND MULIOKELA.

    • I do not think a guy walking with a stick and a gran mother for a wife can have a version

    • Apparently one who passed the ZIALE bar at first attempt. In my opinion, for a ‘drunk’, he has outperformed all of his cabinet colleagues!

    • Ba Kapita as yourself with almost quarter of a century in politics why you’ve never won an election.
      * Is your president’s outburst to allow vendors on the streets without any foresight and plan, a ploy to woe votes which is not only a health hazard but the level of thinking and innovation of your party?
      * Rushing to Chitimukulu to graner support. Is it any short sighted way to deal with issues. What happens in the Baroeste issue. Are you going to deal with it the way Sata did? Place a “band-aid” hoping that when elected the problem will disappeared?
      * This free education that you promise, have you thought about how the tax payer or government will pay the bill?
      * The wage freeze! Where will get the money to pay for the sustainable public sector wage bill?

  3. Who told you EL had no vision? The past news paper? Keep on revising past papers hoping the examiner will reproduce questions

  4. You upnd have no vision to talk about because we have not tested you. Edgar will finish what they started and then in 2016, he will unveil his vision. You want to steal his vision because already most of the things you are talking about are PF’s doing e.g. street vendors. You are just politicking and you will NOT succeed.

    • If UPND has a clear vision for Zambia, why are they not ruling this country now? I think there is nothing wrong for Lungu to say that he is going to continue with what PF has been doing for the last 3 years because they are the ones in Office. We need to hear the vision HH has because UPND has never been power before so we need to hear what their vision.

This my take from what EL has been saying.

    • “Edgar will finish what they started….” In other words “continuity”. According to PF continuity means carrying on with tribalism, nepotism, regionalism and corruption. This is unacceptable therefore Zambians have an opportunity to kick the visionless PF out of power.

  5. He has stated that he will address Sata’s vision; that is fair enough, no one in PF can state confidently that they have their own vision. And this might play out to be a good strategy in a time when Zambians are really fed up of ‘promises’.

  6. Ba Kapita, you have woken up to the reality hey? Provide alternative solutions instead of crying for our votes. If you have nothing to say please stop wasting our precious time. Indeed its you the opposition who have no plan for Zambia going by the many empty promises you are making.
We are voting for PF because it is working and we are seeing the development never seen before countrywide unless you choose not to see what’s happening.
Even in Southern Province PF is coming in full force…..
Edgar is the next President of Zambia come 20th January 2015

    • Bauze — Ati Vision : Kulota ?? Gvt programmes initiated and on course for minimum 5 yrs should continue. All else are dreams’ PF should and will not change course in mid-flight. In fact it is current policies that have endeared them to all and sundry.
We shall not accept attempts not to finish our universities and new up coming city / town. Ninshi finshi ulefwaya ???
PF has to develop what they have embarked on. Nabena nga bakesa kuti baisa yamba ifyabo as long as its in Zambia . Period

  7. How does a man go at a rally with a written speech?
This shows that he has no vision for the country and zambians remember to vote wisely and not on the party. Edgar Lungu is really a let down and he must change on his appearance.

    • In Zambian political circles, if you write a speech, you are going nowehere! Mwanawasa was never a genious in election campaigns, he barely spoke a sentence, it is not easy getting into the limelight, he will learn.

  8. Kapita, you failed politician, just keep to your tribalist a politics and empty promises. UPND is promising people that street vending will continue and actuall grow by bringing more people into the CBD corridors. Those are the promises you EL to make, wanya tafyachitike. Why are telling EL to improve his campaign, why not use those tactics for udpn whatever? You are now running out of lies with your baby candidate.

  9. This is a dull -rubbish article . I thought Kapita had brains but alas he does not have. Edigar Lungu is very right ….he will make sure he finishes all the projects Sata has left. Do you want him to say he has nothing to do with the projects of Sata the way your clueless HH wants to destroy these good projects. I am disappointed with you Mr. Kapita. I withdraw the respect I had for you. shame on you.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

  10. Lungu is right.PF has a vision for the party. The vision PF wants to finish president Sata’s work.We voted for Sata coz of the vision which sata had.No need to change the vision of Sata until 2016.We are constructing new roads, school, hospitals and creating new industries.Ba kipata iyo kwena mulibakopo. No wonder u couldn’t sustain yo LIMA party with Scott. We want Lungu to change the vision of the party?Even when u planing at the company there is 5 year plan(Strategic plan). What is PF doing is implementing what they planned.planned. Lungu will try to come with his own plan in 2016 minifesto.Kwena in Zambia we have ifikopo sure.U can’t change anything in 2years.Budget has already passed and Lungu is just fulfilling what Sata started period. It’s UPND to tell us what’s in the their…

  11. Too many lies imwe ba UPND. Have they forgotten your role in politics? Edgar NEVER ever said he has no vision please!!! Zambians are judging you based on your shallow and politics of cynism. No one believes the Post newspaper anymore lelo lelo lelo.

Go Edgar Go! Finish off these angry bodies….

  12. SATA himself had no plane, we used to call him chimbwi no plan, chumbu mushololwa,Ukwa, The man had nothing to offer. I thot Edgar will at least have a vision, ALAS! unless we pretend , ZAMBIA DESERVES BETTER than this comedy we keep putting in power.

I go for National Unity = HH

    • And tell me, has HH even mentioned how he plans to raise funds for his budget of free education when Zambia is engaged in external loans of $5bn?
Has HH mentioned figures of how he plans to increase capacity at UTH and other general hospitals?
Has HH mentioned how he intends to pay angry farmers?
Has HH even ever produced a ‘counter-budget’ to a PF budget?
Look, he may get the hyperbole from hired support, everyone does. Facts are this, no major politician is selling their own vision to the electorate, they are selling their party manifesto- documents written by founding members of the parties who are long gone.

  13. We are disappointed with the opposition. No one is telling us something different that we don’t know. PF is far much better off because we can see and feel their developmental works.

We are voting for Edgar Lungu until you grow up all of you.

  14. Ok let me put it this way..

HH will never rule Zambia. ……..i said NEVER

with his supporters like ‘the Engineer ‘who are so disrespectful….and full of insults. ….

My question to all UPND supporters. ..” are you guys really Zambians or just masquandering to be Zambians? ???? I don’t think so.

    Meanwhile,
    Lungu is on target

    2015 vote PF ( Edgar )

    I thank you

  15. To be fair ED did not say he has NO vision. He just said it will come to him if you elect him as President and let him stay and then by 2016 he will be struck by inspiration after tasting and enjoying visionless power. At that point he will add his personality and vision to the PF manifesto. In the meantime he will use the vision of the one who died before him. It might be scary but Zambians are more insulted by broken promises than visionless Big Daddy Cane who wears his thinking hat at all times…

  16. You started with the constitution. PF has given you. What next? PF is explaining what it has done and doing so far. And so far so good. So lets them go flat out and leave no stone unturned to tell the people the truth. Indeed a house built on strong foundation, is difficult to erase. PF has left the opposition with nothing to tell the voters.
Rome was not built in one year and this true everywhere

Yes hard work really pays and its paying …

Lets go Edgar lets go PF ni pa bwatooooooooooo

  17. Of course it’s taking voters for fools to tell them I have no clue but vote for me.only f00ls can vote for clueless leaders
He is by far the only leader explaining to voters what he can do when he gets into power. Nawakwi has also explained her party’s stand. That’s the way to go. Shamelessly some leaders have their opponents on the agenda every time they talk. We all know you so don’t come and tell me of Hh,Miyanda,Nawakwi or Sampa, I know them already so just tell me what you have for mother Zambia. Don’t tell me all you have is sticky fingers and a big belly that needs to feed from national resources.

  18. And the people of Chiawa have a nice and beautiful bridge. Who made it? Sata and PF. So, let the light be seen to all others guys. What jealous is this imwe ba opposition?

Edgar, you have our votes ’cause we are expecting you guys to do what you have done in many places. God bless you our son.

    • History of Chiawa Bridge
2007 MMD Government made policy to replace all pontoons on rivers with new bridges.
2008 MMD Government said they intend to construct Chiawa bridge. Engineering design completed. Funding procured from World Bank
2009 Five companies submitted their bids for construction of the bridge but cost more than initial budget. Appealed to World bank for more funds.
2010 World Bank approved additional funding of $15 million.
June 2011 MMD Government invited fresh bids. Companies submitted their tenders.
Jun 2012 (during PF) CHICO awarded the tender and signed the contract and construction began.
22/08/14 Bridge completed and commissioned by Guy Scott.

MMD did all the ground work, the planing, design and sourcing for funding. PF just did the final part.

  19. Vision, vision, vision. Stop it. Edgar should tell us what he wants to do based on his own perceptions and rational plans, otherwise he is not fit to led both his party and the country.

  20. “Judge them based on performance of the last 3 years, not just these 3 months up until elections.” Mr. Kapita am very disappointed with your statement, i thought you are a man of wisdom, from your statement i have concluded that you are campaigning for PF because HH, you so called aspiring candidate hasn’t done anything for the past 3 months or years. Please let’s not issue statements anyhow.

  21. PF has had a failed vision. It borrowed huge sums of money for their pockets. Edgar Lungu has been pushed to contest the presidency to:
    1. Protect these crooks who have been pocketing road construction corrupt money 2. To keep the corrupt Chinese 3. Continue messing up with the economy. The mines are up in arms because Michael Sata’s government (mhsrip) has left a gaping hole and they are the targets to sustain the alarming fiscal deficit. The IMF team is currently in Zambia to place the economy on intensive care implying the wage freeze will continue another three years. Are you Zambians aware we are in trouble and only HH has prospects of managing this ailing economy. Lungu has NOTHING to offer let’s admit it. Wake up Zambia for once. We are too crooked in so many ways. Bury emotions.

  22. The IQ of PF supporters is on average -41. These are the people who trusted liars for 90 day miracles. They go into an election with nothing but lies because they know they have supporters with negative reasoning ability. A man says ‘I have no vision’ and the supporters respond, ‘we know and that’s why you are a humble leader.’

  23. Mr RICHARD KAPITA for the first time I’m hearing a leader speaking and you are bang on in line with how HH has approached his campaign. I’m a staunch PF supporter myself, but I will not vote somebody into power just to make him rich while I continue living in poverty. I keep saying it: Edgar Lungu keeps saying he will continue with SATA’s vision, BUT he doesn’t even say what that vision left by SATA is – which means he doesn’t know it. HH is the man most suitable to take over government for now. We can’t continue voting headless chickens into government. If PF sort out their leadership I will vote for them in 2016; not now. I’m not going to vote Edgar Lungu into office just to make him happy and forget about my own happiness – that is what is called S.T.U.P.I.D.I.T.Y if I do that.

    • Lungu has a vision but First he has to continue with the projects at hand. He doesn’t need to mention them because every eye can see, its not a hidden matter unless you want to pretend to be blind.

  24. The PF have done a large number of infrastructure projects in just 3 years. If this can be done in 3 years, imagine what we can do in 5, 10, 15 years. We have the Zambian people’s dreams at heart, we the PF take pleasure in achieving the Zambian dream. Give us the mandate and we can make zambia a modern country. We have a vision for prosperity. Vote PF, Vote Lungu. Give us the opportunity to show you exactly what the PF is about

  25. POST EDITORIAL
“I wasn’t preparing for anything like this; it is a big challenge. It will be folly and naïve for me to think that I will change the vision of Mr Sata. The path has been set, nothing can be done in one and half years,” says Edgar Lungu. And asked by callers, when he guested on Radio Phoenix’s Let the People Talk programme, what his vision would be in various economic spheres, Lungu referred the callers to the line ministers for appropriate answers. There is no doubt Edgar wasn’t preparing himself to become president. And as such, he is at sea. His understanding of issues seems to be very low. Edgar says he has no vision of his own and he is simply there to carry on Michael Sata’s vision. But one wonders if Edgar really understands what Michael’s vision was or is. If asked

  26. If asked what Michael’s vision was or is, we wonder what answer Edgar would give. From that radio programme, it was clear that Edgar’s understanding of what is going on in this country is frighteningly very low. Yes, candidates for political parties must be committed to the manifestos of their party. But they must also be committed to their own vision for the country. They should therefore be evaluated on their capacity to implement both their party’s manifesto and their personal vision. They also need to be evaluated against the record of what they have or have not achieved, their reputation for honesty and selfless dedication to the common good. – See more at: ****8

  27. This is great lie and deception from Kapita. No country is run by automatic switch off from projects and program laid in motion by previous leader. Chiluba continued with a little path left by KK, Mwanawasa continued with some of Chiluba programs, Equally RB and Sata almost got all previous programs and projects and continued therefrom. Talk of roads ,Universities, Schools, Clinics etc., are UPND going to shift foundations of unfinished works to there virgin land of choice? Kapita, don’t play politics of lying to Zambians, just be real . In less than two years what vision can you set out in motion? Edgar is being real. False promises are what we now hate as Zambians. Stop this route instant.

  28. As it was in the days of FTJ’s third term bid with a pledge for continuity so shall it be. As it was in the days of RB’s most expensive campaign so shall it be. Ask RB and Mudala KK how mammoth their rallies were but the opposition carried the day. Now its continuity with more money in my pocket! As it was back then so shall it when polling day shall come

  29. Awesure! EL leaves nothing at all to be desired. How can you stand up in front of an informed audience and declare that you have no vision sure! We are indeed a laughing stalk to the entire continent. And yet we have learned people in the PF who would have taken the realms and took this country to the next level. I guess its coincidence for him to be found in a perfect position at the perfect time. Would have loved to vote for PF but my vote will be on someone else whether he/she wins or loses. I would rather vote for an individual with substance.

    • At least he was honest. People should not blame him should they still decide to vote for him. He has nothing to offer. That is a clean deal from EL.

  30. Edgar Lungu (EL)’s camp is the thickest den of thieves, scumbags, liars, & corrupt crooks currently menacing the Zambian political arena. All the people EL has surrounded himself with (the likes of Kambwili, Nsanda, etc) are just a pack of liars & thieving wolves with no moral fiber or integrity. Other than being good at hoodwinking violent lustrous PF cadres & blackmailing his fellow wolves & miscreants into job offerings if he wins, EL is not presidential material with no shred of bold leadership qualities to drive Zambia into economic prosperity. Voting for EL & his band of miscreants is tantamount to committing suicide, for the following among reasons:
    a) EL is a perpetual drunkard
    b) EL is a sickling
    c) EL has no vision
    d) Like his mentor Sata, EL is a…

  31. The vision of EL is the PF manifesto and of which he has been part. Its seems imwe ba fee colour you dont understand the meaning of a “vision”. The PF manifesto spells out the intention of the part of what they want this country to be. Nomba whats the problem. how can EL have different intentions from the PF manifesto?

  32. Carders stop attacking Kapita and tell us what is EL ‘s vision for the future. you are not Sata’s twin to continue his vision.EL needs to have his own vision otherwise he is just a phony. Right now mothers are giving birth on the floors. Farmers unpaid. Look at EL’s background no achievements to talk about. Those positions were given on a silver plate. Some of his own party members including Scott don’t want to support him that should tell you the guy is clueless or not suitable for presidency

  33. When Michael Sata was pronounced winner, he looked confused and took and visibly took quiet sometime to grasp work and forge forward. Presidency is not like we see it from outside. To the wise circumstances dictate the road map, shape and reshape the vision when inside there. Do people think one would assume presidency and just sit in this era of shibukeni from almost all nationals.

  34. People shud understand that Zambians always go for the victimized, underdog no matter the quality, which is not good. So, the more you insult this Lungu, the more sympathy he gets. This attitude of upnd cadres to belittle and call others names is what has driven me to vote for Lungu. Cos if they can behave like this before getting power, what more? They will be worse than PF. Even saying Lungus wife is from zingalume….what’s wrong with that. Infact zingalume has a lot of voters and much as they are poor, they deserve respect from upnd cadres. So, the biggest weakness for HH his supporters, who think they can win by arrogance. Come January, they will run to their hiding places…

  35. Edgar Lungu’s rally in Mansa shows that he did not say anything about what he will do. I am convinced this man has no vision and he confessed that if God gives him a vision, then he will have one in 2016; meaning even in 2016 he might have no vision. I wonder how a presidential candidate can be reading his speech line for line on a piece of paper. Are these signs of memory lapses or incoherence in his body system?
People, fellow suffering ZAmbians, dont just follow edgar because he is PF. In any case, the record of PF govt performance is pathetic.

    • Vodka lungu exposed himself in Mansa as one of the useless ministers Sata talked about. Infact he’s supported by a whole band wagon of useless ministers. I was sitting there and the guy just couldn’t speak, he was shaking uncontrollably.

  36. Ako usulile ekopa nook. All those saying negative things about Edgar and attacking his persona are not genuine and only filled with hate of bile. You are actually blessing him. To every side of a coin there is goodness, goodness that can be seen by all well meaning people. Honestly ,without own MPS in Parliament ,what laws are you going to pass? What projects are you going to introduce other than first finish what is already on program. To have a vision does not mean destroying what has been initiated already. Please don’t lie to the masses or we waste tax payers money. Bufi, Kubeja, Boza, Wenye that in two years you will roll up a voluptuous program for the nation. Lungu is not deaf, he is not blind

  37. Is it just Edgar who is a presidential candidate? what about others; Nevers, RB, Nawakwi, Chipimo, Muliokela, Miyanda, Cosmo are they not? Mentioning Edgar and insulting him like this makes any voter that Edgar is a threat to people. thanks for making me realise who to vote for.

  38. Kabwili said he doesn’t want to be part of an illegality.
What is he doing now next to Lungu on the platform?

    On the other side
Acting President Guy Scott has remained non-committal on joining the Patriotic Front’s campaign trail which got off the ground with a mammoth rally in Kitwe on Saturday.

  39. The Zambians have the vision and will guide Edgar Lungu. Especially the tribalists the Bembas. They will vote and guide him. Fear fear fear. Do not be afraid of Bembas gentlemen they are just people like you.

    • There’s an infestation! Some ‘creatures’ above are mentioning tribe! Fetch the holy water! Sprinkle each one liberally! If that doesn’t work, kill it! Kill it with fire!

  40. Saulosi, walasa mune. Lungu is a threat that is why they want to capitalize on a misinterpreted statement to use it to theie greed. People of Zambia, if you love Zambia support Edgar or Nevers. ichikwanka bachimwena kumampalanya. We don’t want always annoyed faces or playboy type in statehouse. Forget about crowds being pulled as people only go to spectate or see or watch or just to listen . Late Dean Mungomba pulled crowds but never won. A vote is secrete . The more you insult someone the more you campaign for that person as people will want to see or prove that person of what you said about him. If someone said” that man is real man” all or most people would want to see what makes that man a real man. That’s nature. Be it male or female, they will try all means to see for themselves.

  41. He says he has no vision. No need to say more. He will dedicate his time to drinking, while the nation takes care of itself.

  42. Rome was not built in a day.Who can lie that they do this and that at once.Look the Zambian people can not be fooled because even advanced economies like America,Russia,India to mention but a few still experience hardships. So stop telling lies.

  43. Kapita by his rantings clearly has shown he is a chancer not real. He actually makes people think UPND is full of hate and thereby may attract negative thoughts of people and fail to support HH. tHESE ARE PEOPLE WHO HAVE MADE THE WORK OF hh DIFFICULT. pOLITICS iS all about CARE WITH TONGUE. HH check your men.

  44. When MMD was campaigning for the 1991 elections, they promised a lot of freebies. Once they got into power, the actions were the opposite. PF did the same and UPND is now singing the same song. If successive governments have failed to provide free education, healthcare adequately, and have delayed paying farmers, can HH and his team tell us how they are going to honor their promises?

  45. Who is this Kapita? What has he been good at since he became a politician? What development has taken to his constituency in North Western province? The answer to both these questions is; ZERO! He eats alone.

  46. Kapita, is another confused and immature politician (hopeful and hopeless one).

His article is an ignorant rant. He is miss-applying the concept of Continuity in terms of gov’t policy. Continuity is the cornerstone of progress and underpins successful development.

There is something which is being made obvious by its absence; what you ask? Common sense that’s what’s absent in Kapita’s critic of Lungu! Kapata lacks common sense.

Let’s all calm down and stop being so hysterical about this election to start with. The by election was made necessary by the death of Sata, who had been 3 years into his term of 5 years. There remains barely 2 years. The budget has already been passed, so what promises can a care-taker president do in these short years?

    • Kapita lacks common sense it should have read in third paragraph (we love Kapata!).

Kapita shows also the bad characteristics of HH and his party ethos. LIES, DAM!N LIES! Lying to the electorate is part of UPND Party Policy No.1. We witnessed recently, our very respected politician Nalumango, apologising for the Party because it had overshot its endorsement announcements…..Chief Chitimukulu had apparently, NOT endorsed HH after a brief social traditional greeting call on his palace.

We can then successful deduce and concluded from this article that Kapita is ‘down with’ Continuity because UPND do not understand as yet that ALL Parties will have to provide Continuity in the next 2 terms left of Sata’s term in office of 5 years. He is lying again!

  47. My advise to all UPND sympathisers is that don’t just keep yo understanding/appreciation of UPND policies to yoself and online media, plse plse, your duty now is to convince more people, those still in doubt of who to vote for in various compounds, in the villages, farms, markets, including some of the PFs die-hards, they are surely coming. I see them joining UPND. keep on, keeping on!!!!!!! aleisa aleisa.

  48. In my opinion, HH’s support can be questioned on whether it will transform into votes. With the notion of hired support and cadres attending all rallies (in effect, attending all rallies is prudent to understand the promises). PF has its claws in Copperbelt, will wrestle RB vigorously for votes in Eastern Province, will easily get the vote in Luapula and Northern Provinces. Lusaka will be tight, it must be but I see PF just about out-maneuvring other parties. HH is likely to win in Southern, Western and large parts of Central Province, North Western too. Voter turn out is key, if Lungu does not call out voters, it is pointless the mechanics- “If your friends do not show up, be guaranteed your enemies will show up in numbers”.

    • How can something be ‘Good’ and ‘Flawed’ at the same time?

We are talking about our country @matunga, can you just stop with these trait attitudes and comments! You can’t be taken serious if you are only negative. ALL the time.

    • @50.2 Patriot Abroad:

I like Lord Voldemort’s analysis. However, I believe that he is misreading Zambia’s political landscape. Contrary to his assertion, PF does not have “its claws in Copperbelt.” Eastern province will be a toss-up between MMD, PF and UPND. MMD is likely to be the spoiler there. PF must not be too naïve.

Northern and Muchinga are wild cards. PF’s prospects there could be gloomier than projected. How much of a PF stronghold Luapula is, that I can’t tell. However, Lungu’s recent poor showing in Mansa may have already spoiled the party there. He needs to be drinking a little bit of beer shortly before giving a campaign speech, in order to stay pepped-up and transform himself into a true comedian – he was, at best, sluggish. Let Lord Voldemort be real.

  49. To start with you are not even the vice president of UPND. what about Dr. Banda, where to you put him. You are just selfish and jerous man. PF has a vision which the late president left. so he continue on the same vision. Shut up Kapita. Concentrate on your campaigns. HH will never never win. Cut my finger Kapita

    • Be honest. You too are disappointed with EL’s campaign speech in Mansa. Does one need to be president or vice president of another party to react negatively to such a horrible speech???

    • Yes they need to be if they SIGN themselves in writing! Come on show some basic Legal knowledge.

Again you expose your charlatan qualities. This proves again that HH and hugs supporters will do ANYTHING to win office. If you are lying this much as party policy, that makes you the biggest liability for the country.

  50. VIVA EDGAR LUNGU !!

My Fellow citizens ! stop this sort of politicking , double mindedness kind of behaviour and comments. Two things :

Who is Kapita to utter his opinion with no particular sense.
Let us not waste any more precious time on useless things and confidently vote Edgar Lungu an obvious candidate on 20th January and then concetrate on national building until 2016. Only then will you judge the man.

It’s your Time your Excellency EDGAR LUNGU

  51. If I were Kapita, I would concentrate my efforts to clearly state the vision of my party and not waste time talking about another party’s candidate. The PF have a manifesto and I am sure that’s what Edgar if elected will try to implement. It is time for UPND to clearly outline how much better their manifesto is compared to the PF one.

I think the electorate are tired of political parties discussing individuals and not policies. We want issue based campaigns.

  52. lungu has a vision its HH who has no vision going by the history he is the only person who has been moving from one packt to onther becoz of being selfish . zambian canot be fooled by his cheap politics we are above that .
if for sure he is popular why keeping approaching every politian like sampa and others. in the first compain he said he will recogonise chitimukulu to us that is an insult and a sign of desperate to bring a well respect chief into politics
one thing HH should know is that we know him very well .
even if he can dance our dance, sing our song ,dress our dress , eat our food or claim to be endosed by pipo it will never change anything EDGAR CHILUFYA LUNGU will win

  53. Mushota you are not thinking or checking facts like a PhD holder.

First Miles Sampa has zero chance of winning, his case is likely going to be thrown out by the courts within the week.

Second Miles Sampa IS NOT A HARVARD GRADUATE!. Even a fool can discover this. Miles Sampa attended a 2 weeks program at Harvard Kennedy School called the Senior Executive Fellows program and got a certificate of attendance/ participation. He of course blew his trumpets by claiming that he was a Harvard graduate and some Zambians who are gullible swolled the line! Very shocking how some Zambians like you Mushota are incapable of independent fact checking in the era of the internet. Harvard graduates are those who have been conferred with degrees by the University.

    Mushota which school/Uni did u…

  54. This Kapita guy is not a serious guy. He lacks political strategy, he is luck HH is a good guy otherwise he is a serious liability. He should not be included in the campaign. Simusamba is very intelligent. Let UPND allow only Simusamba to be responding otherwise Kapita is a missed call. The other day he was at G. Scott concentrate on mobilisation. If EL has no vision don’t mind him just concentrate on your vision

  55. , Zambian is in trouble. When you have a country where people no longer care about leadership credentials of a President as long as that person hails from their region or a region that they are comfortable with, know that the country has no future. This is the condition that Zambia is in right now.

  56. Post editorial excerpt: “….But is this the vision Edgar wants to pursue? How is he going to pursue it? Does he fully understand this vision and what it entails? Is he really prepared for this kind of struggle? Who will accompany him in this vision? Willie Nsanda! Emmanuel Mwamba! Brian Hapunda! Julius Komaki! Alexander
Chikwanda!….. The Patriotic Front is certainly a big flop, failure, fraud….” Monday 8th Dec. 2014

  57. Nowonder Zambia and Malawi are the only two laughing stocks of the region, the country has been ruled by these easteners for far too long. The first and second times when Zambia was rulled by a true Zambia we saw the results. Please vote wisely.

    • This ‘creature’ above has mentioned region of origin! Oh my God, Kill it! Kill it with fire and throw it in a bottomless pit!

  58. This ka kapita guy I know him very well. He was once a ka mp for mwinilunga west and now called ikelengi. What vision did u have? Where u not defeated by your good for nothing Muchima? Pls don’t talk about vision wen your party is being lead by a visionless leader ka hh. If hh hard a vision he woud not put u his vice because u failed.
    Com pa 20 EL inZEEEEeeeeee!

  59. With the set of clowns vying for the top job in PF the world is laughing at us and thinking we are all oafs for encouraging such characters to think that they are presidential material. The entire line up of clowns in the PF, are poor excuse for men let alone leaders.
    I cry for Mother Zambia!

  60. I’m beginning to think that Edger Lungu is a threat to the opposition. Is he the only presidential candidate or are you just afraid of him? Play your game wisely if you want to be voted for and avoid insulting others. This shows how desperate you are and I think I should just vote for Lungu since he’s a threat to you. This shows that he’s the correct candidate.

    • Really? That’s your basis for voting? Bring the heaviest hammer we have! This one’s head needs to meet said hammer!
