UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has welcomed and thanked Kasama MP Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba for endorsing him ahead of the 20 January 2015 Presidential by-election, and has promised to deliver to all Zambians.
Mr Hichilema says Mr Mwamba has made a commendable decision to follow his conscience and endorse a candidate based on his assessment of who represents the best prospect for Zambia.
In thanking Mr Mwamba, for endorsing him for the top job of Zambia, Mr Hichilema says he has taken seriously the weight of responsibility people who have endorsed him have placed upon him.HH Katele kneeling
Mr Hichilema has therefore promised that he will not disappoint people who have put their trust in him and will deliver to all Zambians once elected President of Zambia.
Mr Hichilema says in his “Zambia United Tour” Campaign trail, his party is showing the power of strength, maturity and unity of purpose over division and derision.
Mr Hichilema says as hoped that Zambians are now already able to see that the UPND and all the people who are supporting him for the presidency, are already demonstrating that together, more can be achieved.HH mumbwa2
He has further hoped that positivity and forward looking can unite all Zambians in order to eliminate the divisions that have been planted in the past.
Mr Hichilema has encouraged Zambians to join the UPND and vote for him as President of Zambia on January 20 to make a better Zambia for all.
Mr Hichilema further says Mr Mwamba’s decision is not about party politics or ambition; but about moving Zambia forward for the next 50 years.
Mr Hichilema says the unity and support for his presidential candidature as President of Zambia is also about delivering a new people-driven constitution, paying farmers on time, and empowering youths.
Mr Hichilema further says there is now need to vote him and the UPND into Government next January so that he can manage the Zambian economy better.
Mr Hichilema says there is need to cut back on waste so we can invest more in education and healthcare, create jobs and reduce the cost of living.
Mr Hichilema says it is now time to end the communication void between government and the people, and ending government interference in traditional governance.

UNITED Liberal Party (ULP) president Sakwiba Sikota yesterday said UPND president Hakainde Hichilema is not honest in his offer of reconciliation because he has failed to deal with tribalism in the party. Responding to Hichilema who on Tuesday invited him to rejoin UPND in the spirit of national unity and development, Sikota said Hichilema’s offer to the leadership and membership of ULP to rejoin UPND was not genuine and was laced with thorny issues.

GBM cannot become a “darling” overnight simply because he endorses HH. Once a tiger, always a tiger. GMB’s prostitution and immaturity is there for everybody to read and digest.
My only observation is the lack of principles being exhibited by the UPND faithfuls on the blog and more so that of the UPND leader HH in winning and dining with the “wolves”. Somewhat the adage that “birds of the same feathers, flock together is taking hold on the UPND leader.

GBM is a business man he is not looking for a ministerial post. There are so many diplomatic positions to give most late comers. I love Edgar as an individual, but he has not demonstrated the kind of leadership required for the nation’s top job. If you want to lead, you should first learn to follow. As a minister EL has failed to respect the authority of acting president and the ministerial code of conduct. His perennial acts of sneaking out without scot’s approval is becoming a source of great concern much as his health and well-being may prove to be a liability to the nation if elected. This kind of behaviour by EL is a recipe for anarchy in the country. Edgar has proved to be a divisive character that should not be entrusted with power- it will corrupt him absolutely because it will be used to suppress dissent and persecute his perceived enemies as he has hinted on his political platform.

@Mwine Munzi- I applaud individuals who use excerpts and facts and also those who replay people’s own words. Very true indeed, in UPND, when succession conversations begin, the only two names you will hear are- “Garry Nkombo” or “Cornelius Mweetwa”- What about the Vice President Canicius Banda?
Tribalism is rife in UPND. Go to the ECZ website and you observe that HH or Mazoka do not perform as badly in Northern, Eastern Provinces, but then check how dismally Sata performed in Southern Province?

I know the PF camp is now shaken following the endorsement by GBM. Dispute this at own peril. The endorsement of GBM means loss of potential votes in Kasama central. GBM is not alone and he has a lot of followers. This is sad for the ruling party. GBM is the household name and it is a big brawl to the ruling party (PF). Worse still Miles Sampa supporters are marginalized by its own party and I don’t think the same will vote for PF. Victory is certain for HH unless otherwise the election will be rigged. HH has been so consistent with his campaigns and has been well received by the people of Zambia in all the 10 provinces.
