Shiwangandu Member of Parliament Stephen Kampyongo has defended the recent attacks on the UPND campaign team by PF cadres in Shiwangandu area in Chinsali district.
Some PF youths attempted to bring down the helicopter carrying UPND campaign team comprising Former First Lady Maureen Mwanawasa, Lunte MP Felix Mutati, UPND National Chairperson Mutale Nalumango, Lubanseshi MP Patrick Mucheleka and a Muvi TV reporter.
But Mr Kampyongo said in an interview that the UPND campaign team provoked the PF youths by deciding to land their helicopter on the same spot where the PF youths had already gathered for their own meeting.
Mr Kampyongo who is also Home Affairs Deputy Minister said the youths were incensed to see the UPND team landing when there had been no prior notice of their arrival.
‘The youths had gathered to wait for their leaders from Lusaka to address them and they were geared to start their meetings only to see a UPND team attempting to land. You see, these UPND people are just arrogant and they got what they deserved,’ Mr Kampyongo explained.
He said as area MP, he felt insulted by the UPND team’s lack of courtesy by planning tyo hold rallies in Shiwangandu without notifying him.
‘Even you, do you think i can come and enter your house, address your wife and children without notifying you? This is anarchy they were asking for and they got it.’
Mr Kampyongo said he expected his parliamentary colleagues such as Lunte MP Felix Mutati and Independent MP Patrick Mucheleka to show courtesy and notify him that they would be addressing rallies in his area.
‘In any case, Mucheleka is my friend, he should have just called me to say, boi (boy), we are planning to visit your area. You just don’t come into somebody’s home and you don’t even pay courtesies. That is why the youths got upset,’ he said.
He said he does not believe or condone violence but warned fellow politicians from acts of provocation.
‘We were in Parliament and these guys (UPND campaign team) were all over campaigning and they came here and now that we want to get our campaign machinery in full gear, they also want to return for more campaigns. Now that is anarchy. We gave them chance to campaign when we were busy in Parliament debating and they should also give us chance now,’ he said.

Well folks I have credible information that RB wanted to come back in power to punish the Bembas for troubling him during the 3 years PF was in power. Now that supreme court knew that, they ruled to stop him.

After looking at the two candidates he opted for broke Lungu who would not refuse dirty money for sake of RB coming back into politics to fix the Bembas. After Lungu wins here is what RB proposes should happen;
Lungu should drop all those vultures surrounding him, like Luo, Kapata, Nsanda, Xavier Chungu, Sampa, Kapyango, and many other Bembas from his cabinet and replace them with people from other regions to consolidate his power and remove it from the Bembas. This aimed at weakening the Bemba ‘s influence in PF and Zambian politics in general.

Here are some of the pointer to verify that my prognosis of RB supporting is true.
Lets take Dora Siliya for example. Why has she decided to support Lungu and PF unreservedly for the first time after being persecuted by Sata and his associates until Sata’s death? Therefore, UPND, were actually disrupting PF campaign meetings, which as everyone knows started late. A very aggressive move.

There can be no basis for justifying violence. One has to accept that politics cannot be defined by democratic tenets because even those elected or contesting to be elected have no clue what democracy is about. Here again one has to question the quality of our educational institutions. If EL is serious about his future as a leader and wants to be respected and taken serious by his PF and the voting public at large, this is a very good opportunity to set the right precedent by how he responds to Kapyongo’s insubordination. EL and acting President GS apologised unreservedly about PF’s violence in Shiwang’andu, and thereby did a bit of damage control.
So, who is this Kapyongo to overrule both EL and GS?. So now not only are EL and GS’s efforts in damage control null and void to the voting public, but Kapyongo’s support for violence sends a clear message that PF CANNOT be trusted to be a consistent Party with one voice for even three days, ever mind three years.
Violence? What violence. imagine that was a helicopter carrying ANC officials landing at a place where Inkhata Freedom party were having a meeting or vice versa. If it is true that Lungu is using RB money and not Nsanda that is good news. RB wants to punish the bemba people for the pain he has gone through the last 3 years. All bembas will be fired from top positions, replaced by other tribes as Lungu consolidates his position for 2016, if this is true, Lungu has my back. After all us bembas are one of the lest educated in Zambia, used to stealing and thuggery behavior. I think whoever wins HH or Lungu, the bemba are in trouble this time around. I give Lungu the benefit of doubt but I think if he is dealing with the mature RB who has learned the lesson of how bembas can mistreat you, it will be a nice game. @ Wnzelu, if Edgar Lungu or RB tries to dribble the bembas as you said, they will be out in 2016. We have a lot of bembas who can form a party today and groom it as quickly as possible. There is Miles Sampa, Elias Chipimo, Nevers Mumba and many more upcoming bembas in the political scene. Us bembas will never be defeated. We are so friendly and powerful at the same time. We are the majority voters in Zambia. So if RB tries to do his stupid revenge on bembas he will be sorted out later. God gave us this wealth in Zambia for all of us to share. No tribe is above the other. If RB is committed some crimes during Sata’s rule, he should just answer the charges. Period!

It does not make sense to say that the PF youths had gathered at the same venue to hold a rally. If supporters of the PF were there long before the UPND helicopter came, they must have been together with UPND supporters at the same venue. Why then didn’t the PF inform the UPND supporters to inform their superiors that the venue was occupied so that the helicopter does not land? The truth is known already and you KAMPYONGO will be the first target of law enforcement under th new UPND government, we cannot afford to have characters like you who break the law anyhow under th guise of politicking yet you put the lives of people in danger

@wanzelu,the issue of removing Bembas from influencial positions may not be such an easy undertaking! You need to look at the statistics and ask yourself how easy or how difficult that may be. It appears some people have hatred against Bembas such to a point where even if someone labours to get what they deserve they stick the tribe to it and feel as a Bemba he should not have it! How can you call Bembas in PF vultures when they are the ones that founded and propped it to where it is now? Hatred hardly breeds success! See now HH is incorporating the same Bembas to gain votes and then what….?? Throw them out?
