These awards are fake. They pretend to give people the power to nominate but instead they do their own nominations. Zambians don’t even waste your money nominating or voting on this rubbish.
ZAMBIAN MUSICIANS MAKE ME FEEL LIKE VOMIT. MUSIC YAPA ZAMBIA NI BUY ONE GET TWENTY FREE OR ONE SIZE SUITS ALL. THERE IS NO BAND PERFORMING, THERE IS NO INGENIOUS, THERE IS NO INNOVATION, THERE IS JUST RUBBISH IN ZAMBIAN MUSIC- SERVE FOR UNCLE REX, MUTINTA MWALE AND ONE OR TWO WITH REAL BANDS. HAVING SAID THAT MOST GOSPEL BANDS HAVE A REAL DIRECTION. I KEEP LISTENING TO KINGS MUMBI, PAPA BRUNO, SUWILANJI, ETC. OTHERWISE, MOST OF US WILL CONTINUE LISTENING TO CONGOLESE, SOUTH AFRICAN AND ZIMBABWEAN MUTUKUZI.

Zambian music has lost its foundation, it is been influence by what comes on the scene. for example 75 percent of Zambians wants to sound, sing like Nigerian. most of their songs are not from the hearts but from what the see and hear . Zambian music died with the likes of PK chishala, Emmanuel mulemena, n kazembe, paul ngoni etc . the material that we have now can never win highly recognized awards like the MTV African music awards
