MOOMBA United Party for National Development (UPND) Member of Parliament (MP) Highvie Hamududu has advised President Edgar Lungu to live up to the expectation of being the best president Zambia has ever had because he is young with fresh ideas.
Mr Hamududu said President Lungu is different from other presidents that Zambia has had hence he should not be trapped into making decisions that made other presidents unpopular.
“President Lungu is a young president who can make a difference in Zambia but he should be careful with people who are surrounding him if he has to succeed as the best president,” Hamududu said.
The lawmaker added that the people surrounding the president just want to eat and if he loses elections next year, they will run away from him.
Mr Hamududu said in an interview that he doesn’t mind working with president Lungu as long as he approaches his party president Hakainde Hichilema that he wants to work with the UPND MPs rather than poaching them.
“I can work with Mr Lungu as long as he approaches my president that he wants some of us to work with him and help him succeed and move the country forward,” he said.
“We want Lungu to succeed and move this country forward because he is different from these other leaders that we’ve had but it is not right for him to be advised by people who just want to eat and move away, he should be careful and continue being humble as we knew him before he became president.”
Indeed he has a chance. The ball is in his court. Get rid of Kambwili and things will just fall in place.
He’s already lost direction in addition to the dictatorial and debt legacy he inherited and pledged to perpetuate.
He can’t beat Levy’s record of good political and economic management.

Bad signs for UPND. People we need checks and balance, we don’t want to be reluctant thinking things are okay when they’re actually not this is exactly what fooled RB and his party before 2011 elections. Anyway you are welcome on board.
This is disheartening. Surely someone tries to hide a $192 million loan or in short wants to heavily steal from you in the name of protecting national security and you want to call him a good president. We really need prayers. Kaunda, the late LVP were transparent in most of their dealings especially when it came to huge sums even the late Chiluba would not hid from telling the people even though somehow money ended up in his private bank account. Zambia deserves better than this and Lungu has to go in 2016.
Whats going on in UPND?
All good things are going on in UPND. Don’t you want people to point out what needs to be done? Lungu is actually being advised which doesn’t mean Hamududu wants to join him. See what the UPND says is the way they will run govt come 2016!

Levy is the worst president this country has ever had. LPM found a stabilized economy. His misguided fight against corruption only ended up dividing the country and FTJ was acquitted of tramped up allegations by Mmembe and hate worshipers.

For your information, Mr Mwanawasa was probably the most hard working president Zambia has ever had. His pragmatic and consistent policies and his high level of education caused the economy to grow in the number of years he served.

The problem with some UPND MPS is this: They know that if they stand on the PF ticket, as long as it is in Southern Province they will loose lamentably. So they will stand on UPND to win and get a job as MP, then say “I can work with HE ECL to take the country fwd”, they are NOT with HH, no, they just want to use his party to become MP!
For your own information some of them are secretly talking to PF so they could be adopted outside Southern Province. They are not happy with HH imposing himself on the party even for 2016. They know HH is losing come 2016.

Hamududu is just being honest and truthful, the problem in Zambian is that we do not like honest people and every time an honest statement is issued we scandalize the issuer. The MP is not saying ECL is the best President but it is possible he can be. At the moment, the MP rates him low because of the people surrounding him and the poor quality of ministers and ECL’s failure to see this. Hence the MP says the UPND has the quality and ECL should approach HH. The MP shows being principled because he does not believe in poaching which ECL has already exhibited with the Solwezi MP.

This is the problem. People surrounding him. A president surrounds himself with people he is comfortable to work with. People with Lungu are only about 3 and half months. In this short a period, they have already failed. what a fuss. KANO NIMWEBO THEN President is surrounded with good people.

How does that make him young? This guy has been very critical of ECL and extensively quoted by the Past. How is he now being vilified by the same people who have been praising him.
@ The Game. H.E. E.C.L is free to choose people he is comfortable with but those people should be effective, full of wisdom, giving timely advice etc. Output from those people is what matters and not comfort. Probation for 3 months is enough to gauge someone’s capability.

The problem with Zambian politicians is that they think developing Zambia is synonymous with “eating” by being in the ruling party. They don’t know that even those in the opposition can help to “take Zambia forward” by being robust in providing checks and balances.
