Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Emmanuel Mwamba has confirmed that controversial musician Clifford Dimba aka General Kanene’s third wife Sharon was savagely beaten up.
But Mr Mwamba has attempted to link General Kanene’s first wife to Sharon’s beating after he posted on his Facebook page that it is not clear who beat her up between Mrs Kanene (First wife) and General Kanene.
He also stated that the issue which he called a private family tiff has been blown by President Edgar Lungu’s known enemy But what is clear is that, has been.
Mr Mwamba also linked the expose to Hot FM newscaster Hugh Jempa Mpundu and his boss Oscar Chavula for leaking photos showing Sharon with a swollen eye.

THE TRUTH BEHIND THE BEATING OF SHARON NGANDULA (The so called Mrs. Kanene)
On Sunday 19th July 2015 Clifford Dimba picked Sharon Ngandula.
Although Clifford is married, Sharon is the second person he has a child with (and she calls herself his third wife).
Dimba popularly known as Gen. Kanene wanted to verify critical information relating to certain matters.
1. Clifford left her pregnant when he went to prison.
2. He also wanted to establish if the born child was his.
3. He also wanted to establish why she was co-habiting with another man and only left him when she heard that he had been pardoned.
4. Wanted to verify whether she has been living with her mother in John Laing, or at her new boyfriends place in Chawama.
It remains unclear at this stage what happened as the name of Mrs. Kanene (the original Mrs. Kanene comes in the picture).
In the family meeting convened on Monday evening to establish facts and resolve the matter, Sharon’s brother Hugh Japer Mpundu who works for Hot FM is accused of distorting facts and published the picture and story through Hot Fm Proprietor Oscar Chavula.
When pressed to establish who beat her and caused the swelling on her left eye between Mrs. Kanene and Clifford Dimba, Sharon kept on blaming the brother for his opportunistic actions and for taking a picture without her consent.
She insisted that what happened among the three and her relationship with the father of her child is what the family should resolve.
But what is clear is that a private family tiff, has been blown by President Edgar Lungu’s known enemy.
It’s a story whose manufacturers (Hot Fm) wish to target and discredit President Edgar Lungu and his actions.
So the Zambian Watchdog and The Post will celebrate a story of this magnitude will twist and turn the details in gory details to scandalise government decision to pardon Dimba.
But the facts remain:
To date there is no complaint, no victim and no official Police report and no medical record.
Sharon has chosen to remain silent insisting that this matter is private and remains between Clifford, the child between them and herself.
Am I confused, deluded or did I miss my medication this morning? In what capacity is the Zambian High Commissioner to South Africa issuing a statement on this tabloid gutter journalism driven story? Are there enough low level people in PF to deal with this?

Emmanuel Mwamba what are you doing? wouldn’t it have been better to keep quiet than dig a bigger hole for Edgar Lungu to fall in? what are you doing in Lusaka anyway don’t you have work to do at the embassy in South africa? When EL cautioned civil servants against spending time on Facebook he was indirectly hinting to Mwamba. The fact that Sharon has not filed a complaint with the police does not dispute the fact that she was assaulted. This is a PR disaster for EL, whether they like it or not.
The other point is that if she was just a girlfriend did Kanene expect her to wait for him for 18 years before she could move on? Having a child with him does not make her his wife. She may have opted to settle down with a man, who was willing to make her a wife.
What is meant by the statement there is no victim?
There are many victims here the victims are all civilised people who despise gender violence, victims of spouse abuse, victims of rape, victims of sexual violence and all those who know that if this general kanene was on parole he would be sent back to jail for contravention of parole conditions and in fact demoted to private .
Sadly we have to live with the reality of a child molester who is now a wife molester next he will……

The point here is that the President should have waited for a while before giving Kanene a good boy’s reward. Dimba is still a very bad boy who needed more time in the gallos to reform. Mwamba is trying to defend his boss for having made a mistake. Go to your office in SA Mwamba because you are receiving a free salary. Good lord. Mwamba seems to be insinuating that the beating was justified. It is never OK to hit your spouse even if they are cheating on you. Best you divorce. It is also somehow funny that Mwamba is not too concerned about the poor woman who was beaten. We all know victims of spousal abuse are usually afraid of reporting the culprit, so that fact that she has not reported to the police should not be celebrated. Mwamba should be encouraging her to come forward. A woman was savagely beaten, and Mwamba seems to be only concerned about protecting the image of his boss, who may have released a violent criminal onto the streets!

I guess the deal btwn Kanene and Mwamba is that Kanene is supposed to compose a political song for Mwamba for Kasama Central. This must be the link btwn the two. I just imagine a young woman’s husband being convicted for rape/defilement and has to spend 20yrs in jail. The young lady decides to find new love since after 20yrs is too far. The president released him in good faith following recommendations from Prisons Authority.
This offence is new and unrelated to having sex with a girl ‘claiming’ to be below 16 yet already a mother. Instead of blaming the president Kanene should carry his own cross. Hope Sharon will report this matter so that action can be taken even if it meant taking Kanene back to jail. If that happen I am sure prison Authorities will not free him again.

just confirm whether she was beaten or not, the rest is a private affair. wife battering is a public affair.
Whether Sharon has chosen to remain silent or not, and regardless of whether she lodged any complaint, and whether there was or there wasn’t any victim, official Police report or indeed a medical record, assault is a criminal offence in Zambia and the fact that the woman was seen with a bloody shut eye should spur the police to arrest whoever assaulted that girl. Had she died, would this silly Mwamba still be saying all this nonsense? Anyway, for a person who was the last seen with Chiluba just hours before the former president was brought-in dead, this does not come as a surprise!

Some one needs to remind Lungu that he is president. Due to his carelessness he finds himself embroiled in the most embarrassing issues created by his own appointees that are distracting him from attending to numerous problems affecting the less privileged.

High commissioner my foot. If it’s indisputable that a woman was beaten why is this foól not addressing the issue of violence against women and how this woman should be taken care of. Why is his main concern defending the reputation of his boss? As dumb and useless as his bos ka Lungu.
This is all perfectly silly. A man has been pardoned of a very serious crime of a repugnant nature. His conduct is our concern and it is NOT between three people.

As a Zambian based in SA I feel personally affected by by High Commissioner issuing this statement…esp on social media. Surely he should realise that anything he does or says whether even in his personal capacity can not be separated from the official position he holds. He at no point can claim to be issuing such a statement in his personal capacity as his role of High commissioner (ambassador) is full time….hence enjoying privileges like diplomatic immunity. I always had little faith in the SA embassy…but Chikonde did what he could. But it seems things have moved from bad to worse going by the calibre of Mwamba.
This is how low diplomats have sunk! We have had the one in Mew York who has a DUI, then we had Frank Mutubila’s saga with his wife now Emmanuel Mwamba. Is he not supposed to be in SA?
