Zambia President Edgar Lungu has extended his visit to Namibia by another day. This follows  the request by Namibian President Hage Geingob asking President Lungu and his entourage to stay for another day so that he is taken to a coastal city to go and appreciate what that country has to offer.

President Lungu, who was supposed to return to Zambia  today, but  will now return home on Thursday.

President Lungu is in Namibia to officiate at that country’s Heroes National day that falls today at the invitation of his counterpart President Hage Geingob. August 26th, is celebrated by Namibians to mark the death of that country’s heroes in the freedom struggle.

And last evening President Edgar Lungu thanked the people of Namibia for the hospitality they have continued to show to Zambia.

President Lungu said that Namibia and Zambia have enjoyed warm relations which have continued to grow over the years.

he President was speaking in Windhoek, Namibia on Tuesday, at a State Dinner hosted for him by that country’s President Hage Geingob.

And Dr. Geingob noted that it is due to the warm relations between Zambia and Namibia that his country decided to invite President Lungu to go and officiate at today’s Heroes day.

    • When you don’t stand for anything, you fall for anything and Edgar with his no vision is the best example. In other places, the presidency’s diary is planned months ahead of time

    • ala!! this travelling business is keeping your president busy,,,, make matters worse castle lager is cheaper in Namibia and no loadsheding,,,,,,,

    • @Ndobo, for your information, Namibia has better lager than that Cosafa Castle, the beer keeping Lungu hostage is Windhoek lager. Probably the best in Africa!!! Umwana Lungu ashenda atasha lelo, kwaliba abakumba ubwalwa uku…

    • “Charity begins at home”. Please Mr President, sort out the issues that ordinary Zambians are facing like high cost of living, inflation, high exchange rates, violence, tribalism, dirty streets in Lusaka, rising crime levels, etc., before you can run to those orderly places like Namibia, Botswana, and overseas. We need to save every dime we can get. Too much travelling. These same Zambian people you are neglecting will make you cry one day. Just ask UNIP and MMD they will tell you.

  1. Sure, boss why not? It’s not like there are important things people expect you to do at home so why not cancel whatever you had planned and make a surprise jaunt down to the coast? Better yet, take your whole entourage so they can all enjoy some extra per-diem! You won’t be missed and we just got a new EuroBond so can afford it.

    …right?

  2. Extended his visit? why am I not surprised? It seems ka Lungu has no idea how to do his job as president so all he can do is vacation from one country to the next. And if they don’t kick him out, he extends the vacation.

  3. Thanks for not trying the faux swag look on and leaving the pimp hat at home. Did your entire posse have to stick around for the extra day or couldn’t it have been diplomatically agreed you would sun bathe some other time?

Bet the Namibians just invited us as polite diplomacy expecting a polite ‘some other time’ and are now scrambling to change up itineraries to accommodate our skiving a$$es… Hee hee

  4. Hahaha.. Ati lungu can you stay one more day? I have something to show you! Yes boss I have nothing important to do in Zambia, so I can stay one more day, even a week if you want me to?????

  5. Dear fellow LT bloggers,
What is the official story of why ka Lungu went to Namibia in the first place? Of course I realize that official story is a bunch of bull?hit but I still would like to know.

    • @Nyau JECL is in South Africa attending a medical checkup! He flew into Pretoria and was seen at 1 Military Hospital in Voortrekker
      Street,
Thabatshwane. He spent an overnight stay and was attended by Dr Govender. Details to follow….

    • ba MB,
thank you much for filling me in on ka Lungu’s covert peccadilloes at that military hospital. This boy has too many skeletons in the closet ka.

  6. Usually a state visit would be cut short to go and attend to pressing issues, an extension of a presidential visit is un heard of.
A president who knows what they are doing would always act like they are busy at the office. Extending foreign visit for the purpose of going to the beach is a typical village mind.

    • Love,
I totally agree with you. If ka Lungu is not busy at the office at least he should pretend to be busy. This extension of vacations is just a blatant disregard for the value of pretending. How hard can it be to pretend that he is busy, huh?

  7. Good Mr President, there is nothing wrong with changing your programme, programmes can be changed if something important comes up. It’s not like you will interrupt another President’s programme to come to Zambia. Those who say Presidential programmes are made months in advance, have you ever run a programme you street beggars (I don’t meany my friends the street vendors)?

Namibia has a lot to boast about with development of their coastal cities Walvis Bay and Swakopmund – just marvellous what those guys can do. We can learn a lot from their determination to achieve the impossible.

The detractors are just filthy ignoramus who want to remain backward for ever without even knowing it.
Just ignore the doomdaysayers Mr President, you are on the right track!!!!! Go Lungu go!

    • imwe fyonse ni we can learn alot. Always learning and doing shiiiiiiiit!!!!!! No wonder, you boast of having the most educated or the most proficient english speakers in the region but have nothing to show for it. The eudcation zambians are getting is a disservice to the country. The least educated zambian had done more for the country than the most educated. imwe ni inverse correlation between level of education and what you do for your country. we can lear what????? nonsense, just come back home tulelyafye ifimataba!!!!

    • I don’t see anyone supporting your views, you got zero marks! Why must you think? Coz everyone hates Lungu, hates to see zambia develop? You have been exposed have you not?

    • @Disneyland- thats why you have a fantasy non de plume like your JECL who is in South Africa attending a medical checkup! He flew into Pretoria and was seen at 1 Military Hospital in Voortrekker
Street, Thabatshwane. He spent an overnight stay and was attended by Dr Govender. Details to follow….

    • @ Disneyland, good one bra! don’t waste time with these poverty stricken vagabonds, our president needs support not senseless criticisms all the time…..

  8. It is okay Mr. President just stay as long as possible after all it is boring back home, there is nothing much to do here. Everyone is able to afford education, hospitals are well catered for, roads being worked on, economy is booming.

  9. No President on earth does that because normally all serious presidents have a schedule planned and financial resources allocated to the schedule. If you increase the length of a visit to Namibia you therefore increase your expenditure. Besides people in your entourage have work to do back at home. Unless you are a Chimbwi no plan you will politely refuse such offers as the Namibian President’s and probably come back later. Our President’s agreeing to prolong his stay just shows he is a Kawayawaya who moves with the wind wherever it blows him to. It explains his party’s u-turn on Rupiah Banda

  10. Truly laughable indeed…please stay for another week or month as you are a lazy bum who doesn’t do anything. ..its only in Zambia where such laziness is tolerated!!

    • Maybe we can make some progress on our problems without this clown around wasting our time money and causing confusion!

Stay there Lungu, we can do better without you and your lack of vision!

  11. not even my 2 year old son can accept such unplanned visits. he is visionary and wants to be where he ought to be and not be moved by toys offered anywhere! What did those himba girls do, that Es doent do right that she us relegated to villagesin western?

    • It’s paramount to have a goal or deadline or reason or vision in everything you do if you DON’T ….you become very lazy as you see no reason to wake up or push yourself Edgar is a quintessential example of this, someone like Aliko Dangote can not just opt to stay for an extra day merely to sight-see and tour he has goals to achieve; he is successful because of this trait.

  12. The preisdent, cannot sleep in state house, to many problems, he thinks , running away from loadshedding will go away coupled with water shortage. Don’t run away from your country, that’s what you wanted, tomorrow you will find the Kwacha 10 Kwacha , just swallow your pride and face reality in your country. Enjoy the clean country, your Lusaka , dirty is from your airport to the whole city’. Enjoy your Jameson

  13. He went with his useless Bushman Kalaba, very arrogant, stupid and pompous, who can not even advise his president, for extending another day for nothing. Sight seen, when people are suffering .
2016, through out this play boy, we need serious people to run this country. If the Namibian president, told you to stay another week, you would jump . Next you are coming to New York , advise no sleeping at the UN, you will just embarrasse Zambia. They should have just sent Madam Wina, she is very alert compared to Chagwa. Madam Wina has been very quiet, any way she only talks if it sensible

  14. The former President Kaunda, was the right person to attend this occasion , not chakolwa. What does he know?

  15. @Nyau JECL is in South Africa attending a medical checkup! He flew into Pretoria and was seen at 1 Military Hospital in Voortrekker
    Street,
Thabatshwane. He spent an overnight stay and was attended by Dr Govender. Details to follow….

  16. What a joker of a man. In the meantime he sends his baby girl to accompany candidates in some by ‘erection’ and expect the innocent girl to be left alone. Please boss be serious for once.

  17. zambians Zambians lets be serious for once. We have heavy load shedding ,no water in most parts of Lusaka, Lusaka is stinking of garbage, shortage of fuel here and there ,to make matters worse the Kwacha is k9 to 1 Dollar now. Some fools are there shouting fintu ni Lungu my foot. See your friends in Lebanon they were rioting over loadsheding and Garbage in the city here in Zambia we are used leaving in”Vishala”.Shame on you Zambians. Lungu is busy enjoying in Namibia he even goes to the beach after a health check up in south Africa.HH a hard worker has offered himself imwe at awe Mutonga can you eat tribe.Bafontini imwe.

    • Nowadays they do this often. After you grumble you suddenly see the posting together with the grumble. Whats up LT?

  18. It’s true if you don’t stand for anything you can fall for anything, This man is an embarrassement to our country
