Zambia captain Rainford Kalaba scored one goal to help propel TP Mazembe to the semifinals of the 2015 CAF Champions League after a 5-0 home win over Maghreb Tetoun of Morocco in Lubumbashi on Saturday.
Kalaba put Mazembe 2-0 into the break with the second goal in the 32nd minute after Tanzania striker Mbwana Samatta opened scores in the 12th minute on his way to taking the ball home with strikes in the 53rd and 90th minutes.
Ivorian striker Roger Assale added Mazembe’s fourth in the 89th minute.
Kalaba came off in the 65th minute for Gladson Kwako of Ghana.
Nathan Sinkala did not make the lineup while Kabaso Chongo was on the bench.
Mazembe finished top of Group A on 11 points, two points ahead of Al Hilal of Sudan who drew 1-1 away to Smouha of Egypt on the same date.
Meanwhile, Zambia’s interest in the match extended to the match officials with Jan Sikazwe the referee in the game while Wisdom Chewe was the fourth official.
Good for Kalaba to score 2 goals in 1 week, and playing 3 tough matches in one week. Even at world cup there is a break.

Jay Jay, your analysis of Zambian football is very shallow. The league has a lot of facets that need to be well managed for the entire league to succeed. Do you know why every season, the champions will either be Zanaco, ZESCO or Power Dynamos? or why teams like Green Buffaloes, Red Arrows or Nkana are never relegated and pose as tilte challengers? Answer this and you will see that the problem of standard of football in Zambia is much bigger than Kalusha Bwalya.
