The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) says it has no role to play in the August 11, general election contrary to reports speculating on social media.
ZICTA Public Relations Manager Ngabo Nankonde says the authority has no role in developing or managing of any mechanism for the transmission of election results.
Ms. Nankonde adds that ZICTA is mandated to regulate and facilitate access to ICTs as well as postal services while protecting the rights and interests of consumers, manufacturers and service providers.
