The Vice President has told Parliament that some people took advantage of loophole in the program to enrich themselves at the expense of the nation.
She also said the industrialisation program started by the UNIP government was stopped leading to mass job losses.
Ms. Wina was speaking during the Vice President’s question time.
And the Vice President says the Patriotic Front government will be remembered as a hard working administration that has delivered development to all parts of the country.
Mrs. Wina said this during the Vice President’s question time in parliament, in response to a question by Kawambwa Mp, Nickson Chilangwa.
And the Vice President has assured the people of Western and North Western provinces that government will build the Katunda-Lukulu-Mumbezhi road.
She said a contractor for the project has been identified and will start construction of the road once resources are mobilised to link the two provinces.
And Mrs. Wina has reiterated that government is not broke and has resources to run national affairs.
She said although the country’s tax revenue base has reduced Zambia’s economy remains on a solid foundation.
She cited the continued investment inflows into the country.

I think UNIP was voted out, because the people misidentified the real guilty party. It was the IMF/WB and it’s conditionalities and austerity programs that caused the unpopularity of the UNIP government, exactly the same way it always does everywhere else in the world.
Austerity programs in Zimbabwe led to the creation of the MDC in 1999, and they also mis-identified the real culprit of ESAP (the Enhanced Structural Adjustment Program, from 1991-1996), which was the IMF/World Bank, not the ZANU-PF government.

It is alleged that the company which HH worked for was given a mandate to evaluate the values of the mines which govt wanted to sell to private buyers for a fee. Advisory fees were paid to the company chosen to do the job. HH as an employee of the advising was paid his monthly salary by the company. The mines were owned by govt and it was govt which sold the mines not. If indeed HH fraudulently the govt mines the govt should sue HH in the court for fraudulently selling the mines.
