State broadcaster ZNBC has withdrawn adverts for the popular drink Ama Sip Sip which featured Congolese artiste Koffi Olomide as the fell out over his violent conduct towards his female dancer continues.
A source within ZNBC management confirmed that the decision to stop airing all adverts featuring committee was taken by management at its Monday Senior Management Team meeting.
The source said ZNBC wanted to send a strong message to the nation that it does not condone violent conduct against anyone especially directed towards defenceless women.
The source further said that the manufacturer of Ama Sip Sip, Trade Kings has since been notified of the management decision.
ZNBC Head of Corporate Affairs Masuzyo Ndhovu and Trade Kings Media Manager James Songwe were both not available to independently confirm the development.
Meanwhile, the Agriculture and Show Society of Zambia has decided to invite another Congolese artiste Werrason after cancelling Koffi’s shows in Lusaka.
In a statement, Society President Ben Soko said Werrason will also perform at the Mulungushi Conference Centre on Friday, 29 July 2016 and that the tickets which were purchased for the Koffi show are still valid and can be accepted at Werrason’s shows.

Next should be GBM and his cronies. Withdraw the support (political and otherwise) from this buffoon and he will learn an important lesson NEVER AGAIN TO ABUSE A WOMAN (wife or not) EVER AGAIN! He will learn to bow down in shame for acts of violence towards our women instead of carrying the GBV tag as a badge of honour—we hope that especially women will make that message very loud and clear next month—speak loudly through the power of your vote that WOMEN BATTERERS DON’T BELONG IN THE VICE PRESIDENT’S OFFICE.
@Kali che: I doubt most people have rallied around GBM. This is just my feeling, but I am pretty sure it is common feeling among a lot of Zambians. If HH didn’t force this WOMAN BATTERER down the throats of most well-meaning and serious UPND supporters, majority of them wouldn’t be in GBM’s corner and supporting him. But it is a necessary evil most of them have tolerate because HH gave them no choice. Just watch when these elections are over and UPND loses, you will see how GBM will be torn to pieces by the very people pretending to “love” and support him now—trying to win an election by all means necessary can make people do and support strange things!

If Koffi was an ordinary person like most of the foregoing bloggers no one was going to know, most of you are also women abuser but we cannot know about you because you hide in pointing fingers at others. It is also wise to realize that Koffi is a habitual abuser going by his continuous record of GBV while for GBM peace exists in his home, showing that he is no longer in the habit.
