Government has advised heads of departments in Solwezi District in Northwester province to ensure that all funded developmental projects are completed schedule.
Solwezi District Commissioner, Rose Kamalonga says this is because a number of funded developmental projects in the district are behind schedule.
She said the completion of projects needs to be expedited so that Solwezi residents can benefit from them.
ZANIS reports that Ms Kamalonga was speaking in Solwezi today when she opened the fourth quarter District Development Coordinating Committee (DDCC) meeting.
She said all ministries that have received funding for projects should ensure that there is effective implementation and completion to enable government fulfill its pledge and mandate to the people.
Ms Kamalonga said government will not tolerate laissez faire attitude because it frustrates government efforts.
Meanwhile,Ms Kamalonga has expressed disappointment at most heads of government departments who shun attending national events.
She therefore, implored all heads of departments to take government functions seriously as they are aimed at bettering the lives of the citizenry..
They say he “WHO PAYS THE PIPER CALLS THE TUNE”, so IF YOU HAVE PAID, WHY ARE THE PROJECTS DELAYING? It is EITHER THEY ARE BEING DONE BY POLITICALLY CONNECTED COMPANIES THAT WON TENDERS ON NEPOTISM,SO YOU ARE SCARED TO DISCIPLINE THEM or YOU have NOT PAID!
Just pay up and you will see a difference. Contractors cannot self finance these large projects while the PF govt is spending all the money on Lungu’s foreign tourism travels.
