Nyirenda picks 4 debutants for Zim clash

Four players are set for their Zambia debuts this weekend against Zimbabwe.

Zambia face Zimbabwe away in a friendly at National Sports Stadium in Harare in what will be Chipolopolo’s first engagement in 2017.

The quartet of new faces include Napsa Stars striker Chitiya Mususu and his club made Justin Banda.

Zanaco defender Taonga Bwembya and his club mate Augustine Mulenga are also set for their zambia debuts.

Meanwhile, two high-profile local players have been dropped from the 21-member team.

Power Dynamos goalkeeper Allan Chibwe and Zesco United midfielder Misheck Chaila have been dropped with the latter missing the trip after sustaining an injury in camp.

The team will only have one foreign-based player in Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene.

Zamalek striker Emmanuel Mayuka failed to travel due to logistical reasons after the Egyptian clubs’ 2017 CAF Champions League engagements on Sunday away to Enugu Rangers.

MIDFIELDERS: John Chingandu, Kondwani Mtonga (both Zesco United), Clatous Chama (Lusaka Dynamos), Kelvin Mubanga , Fwayo Tembo (both Power Dynamos), Justin Banda (Napsa Stars), Augustine Mulenga (Zanaco)

STRIKERS:Jackson Mwanza (Zesco United), Justin Shonga (Nkhwazi), Chitiya Mususu (Napsa Stars), Ronald Kampamba (Nkana)

  1. It’s a good squad but,we need to focus more in the future,such games should not be just about winning,but trying new and younger talents.

BA NYIRENDA IF YOU ARE NOT COMPETENT TO LEAD/RULE THE NATIONAL TEAM BE FRANK NOT ONLY TO CHEW THE TAX PAYERS MONEY OTHERWISE YOU WIL GO FASTER THAN YOU CAME. THE LATE SIR SAMUEL ‘ZOOM’ NDHLOVU WAS NOT EXPERIMENTING, YOU WERE AT NCHANGA WITH YOUR ELDER BROTHER STONE NYIRENDA,WHY NOT COPY FROM ‘ZOOM’ THE WAY HE WAS SELECTING PLAYERS E.G. LATE DERBY MAKINKA FROM PROFUND WARRIORS WHEN WATCHING YOU CAN TEL THAT IS THE NATIONAL MATERIAL.
