Government has expressed concern over the delayed completion of the over K 60 million Vyamba- Chinakila road and Mululwe bridge in Mpulungu District in Northern province.
And Tomorrow investment coordinating engineer Vera Hara says his company contracted for the job will do its best to ensure that works are done in time.
Presidential Affairs Minister Freedom Sikazwe says it is sad that the phase at which the contractor is moving leaves much to be desired.
Mr. Sikazwe who is also the rea Member of Parliament expressed concern that the project may not be done within the given time.
ZANIS reports that the minister said this when he inspected the works being done by Tomorrow Investments in Mpulungu yesterday.
And the contractor , Tomorrow investment ‘s coordinating engineer Vera Hara says his company will do its best to ensure that works are done in time.
Ms. Hara said there are some potions of road that the company is waiting for the Road Development Agency to allow them continue working.
At the moment the company is putting the first gravel on the road and they are waiting for the beams for the bridge to arrive on site.
The 43 kilometers Vyamba Chinakila road being constructed by Tomorrow investment started in 2015 and is expected to be completed in January 2018.
We know this trick by govt…they delay in releasing funds for months when contractor has returned hired machinery then release a small sum rush to the media to complain knowing too well that the contractor can not dare respond without risking their contract.
Sad news indeed
