The Department of Immigration has arrested Shadrick Chite Mukenge ,31, a Congolese musician popularly known as Mumba Yachi.
Mumba has been arrested for knowingly making representations he knew to be false for the purpose of obtaining a Green Zambian National Registration Card (NRC) number 405730/10/1 and a Zambian Passport number ZN 550035, contrary to section 13(1) (c) of the National Registration Act and section 23 (1) (a) of the Passports Act, 2016 of the Laws of Zambia, respectively.
The suspect was on 9th May, 2017 intercepted by Officers at Chirundu Border Control when he attempted to enter Zambia using the Zambian Passport number ZN 550035 bearing the names Shadrick Mumba.
He also had in his possession the Green NRC number 405730/10/1 also bearing the same names.
He was handed over to Immigration Headquarters on the same day, where a statement was recorded from him, in which he said he was a Zambian, a position which he later withdrew in another statement recoded on 28th August, 2017, where he admitted to being a Congolese national.
He is currently detained at Lusaka Central Correctional Facility pending Court appearance.
Make sure he tells you how he got those documents. Find the cancer in the system and get rid. The problem is that the whole system in cancerous.
No need to cage him for that long though at the expense of tax payers.
I truly wonder how many foreigners have Zambian documents. They are so easily obtainable, really shocking.

Anyway, deport him, and prosecute those that are abusing office….

The issue is with the department of home affairs. Anyone in zambia can get NRC and passport. We have many people especially Congolese, Malawian, Nigerians , Tanzanians who are parading themselves as Zambians.
The Zambian government should learn from other countries like South Africa on how to stop this kind of problems.
Finally, the people who issued that NRC and passport to a foreigner should also be arrested.

There are thousands of Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshi nationals that living in Zambia with fake Zambian passports. The Ministry of Home Affairs must look into the corrupt people that are issuing fake Zambian passports at the Immigration and passport office, These illegal passports are available very easily if you bribe an Immigration officers for around 10.000 USD. What I am saying is 100% facts and no lies. The ministry of Home Affairs must clean up the corrupt guys at the immigration department and get rid of these illegal migrants from Zambia and ship them back to their own countries in 40 foot containers or else they will breed like mosquitoes .
And thousands of West Africans, and the illegal passports can be bought for 200 USD
