Zambia, Zim run out of KAZA univisa stickers

Share

Zambia and Zimbabwe have officially run out of convenient KAZA univisa stickers, leaving tourists with no other option but to purchase regular, single-country visas upon entry.
There is currently a shortage of the KAZA Univisa stickers in Zambia at all four of the entry ports.

Livingstone Airport, Lusaka Airport, Kazungula Border with Botswana and Victoria Falls Border with Zimbabwe (Zambian side) have all suspended the issuing of the UniVisa since the stickers ran out.

All entry points including Harare International Airport, Victoria Falls International Airport, Kazungula Border (Botswana) and the Victoria Falls Border have run out of stock.
The KAZA univisa sticker was launched back in December 2016, and allows tourists to gain entry to both Zimbabwe and Zambia for just $50.

It also covers day-entry to Botswana via the Kazungula borders. In the meantime, visitors will have to shell out between $30 and $55 for regular Zimbabwean visas, which are available at all points of entry.

They will then also be required to purchase separate Zambian visas. This spells trouble for both countries’ tourism industries. Both tourism authorities have been unavailable for comment.

  1. This is a joke. What was the immigration department doing when they opened the last batch? how could they not foresee the stickers running out? Did they not consult their Zimbabwean counterparts?

This s similar to sugar running out at home. When the bag was running low, why did no one say anything?

    • And guess what…? They are even taking of building nuclear
power stations, can’t even sort out stickers

    • @Hon MP for Zambia
Pa bondi ilakaba ichinechine. You do rationing sometimes when things are hard. Zambian homes are going through a lot of hard livelihood. kunwa tea ilibe sugar or add sugar into the tea pot and save a few more spoons for other days before ka salary kaili.

  2. What a Third World problem! How can you run out of something you yourselves produce and control. Its not like you need foreign exchange to produce these visas. You just need to sit down with each other and determine how many visitors you want

  3. And you wonder why the Chinese are taking over everything? Too much inertia. I remember how my friend became unpopular when he joined the Kitwe City Council after leaving the mines. Other employees were not happy with his commitment and zeal. ..which is the hallmark of any miner. Eventually he had to join the rest in idling, truancy and other vices.

  4. Unbelievable…….it’s like who took the last cookie from the cookie jar and did not refill. Who used the last toilet paper roll to wipe and did not take action…. seriously?? Someone should lose their job OR it’s a cash grab.

  5. Is there any likelihood that these will be available again for next year (2018)? Surely they have proved popular enough that a re-run is easily justified?
