A book cataloguing opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema’s imprisonment has been published.

The book titled Hakainde Hichilema’s Prison Diary; Events of the day, in and outside prison was authored by Lusaka Journalist Frederick Misebezi.

Mr Hichilema along with five others spent over four months in police custody for treason and other charges that have since being discontinued.

And Mr Hichilema has endorsed the book and urged the public to read it.

“Greetings fellow citizens. We wish to encourage you to get hold of the new book on the market, titled “Hakainde Hichilema’s Prison Diary”.

“This is a book that explains how we were arrested and all the way to the day we walked to freedom after spending 127 days in detention,” he said.

“Those interested in buying a copy, may contact the Author, Mr. Fredrick Misebezi who is a Zambian Journalist. You may reach him on +260 97 5000444. We thank each one of you for your continued support. God bless you.”

  1. 27 yrs (9855 Days) in prison Mandela never wrote a book for almost 20yrs until two autobiography’s where written and HH 127 days he writes a book.
Martin Ruther King Jr imprisoned so many long times and brutalised never wrote a book book t kept on fighting until long after he’s gone we get his written experiences.
My opinion it’s too short and too quick for HH to have this book. When these guys do more harm and worse even another worse prison experience is he going to write another book?
He should learn even from imprissoned former Egyptian president Mossi. Never wrote a book when imprissoned and brutalised before and after being president.
HH if you have a cause u believe in keep fighting and don’t rush to tell a story before the fight is over

    • @ Kondom John
      1. Never heard of former Egyptian president Mossi!!! Still under Saturday night influence?
      2. If you do not like, don’t buy!!!
      3. Definitely it cannot be worst that Jonathan journey from convicted embezzler to anointed, humble, visionary and corrupt to the bone world traveler!!!
      4. By the way, do you know how many books have been written about Mandela, Martin Luther (where did you got “Ruther”) Jr.???
Lastly, from where you got that HH wrote the book?

    • Let him sell it to his cadres. Hh is still a criminal suspect. The matter is still hunging over his head, he can be rearrested any time….ati ba mandela of Zambia! mwaice hh, pembela first…bika bola panshi!

    • Ba God shall not allow
did you forget to take your medicine? If you PF zealots were real i would challenge you as to which book will sell the most between Anthony Mukwita’s tissue and this book.Problem is with your ill gotten wealth you wpould probably buy all mukwita’s copies and use thaem to cook beans in GBM style kikiki. For those who dont want to buy please dont we dont want shortages.I cn never buy Mukwita’s tissue and cant even accept a free copy.

    • @Kondolo,
Could you please tell whoever is FORCING you to buy the Book against your will that he/she has absolutely NO right to force you.

    • KINDLY TITLE YOUR BOOK “HOW MY ROAD RAGE WITH THE PRESIDENTIAL MOTORCADE LANDED ME A 127 DAYS JAIL TERM – IT WILL BE A BOOK FULL OF LIES AND JUNK, BELIEVE ME.
      =================================
What a waste of time! A book of unruly behavior exhibited by the UPND folks.

  2. This is good so that you know what is happening in Zambia and it’s prisons why should you compare HH to other people he is his own man , this will educate people on the abuse of the constitution and rule of law going on under Edgar Lungu! Expose them

  3. Hh will end up in the opposition forever. ……what’s the rush. There are people who went in for years during the struggle for independence and are quite about it. He goes in for 2 days and writes a magazine. Really under 5.

    • Have you seen how dull these PF cadres are i remember there were few comments on the fire tender stories from them, but look at how they have crawled out of their holes with fear at the mention of HH.I am bemba but i will tell you PF your president is unconsciously passing the mantle to HH while you f00lishly cheer him on.The solution is not brutalising the opposition or running away.Confront your problems. But again look to whom i am preaching, look to whom am preaching kikiki,UNTRAINABLE.

  4. For some people 127 days is like 27 years being in prison. Let HH chronicle his prison events, so that people are able to judge for themselves whether he has at all learnt something from his incarceration. We cannot stop him.

  5. Why is it that some people who dont like HH follow him the most? I thought, their beloved-ones are so busy or that after all their busy for nothing is boring to follow?

    • …because you have to keep your enemies close to your chest. HH is a threat to Zambia because he aligns himself with the enemies of Zambia.

  6. Under5 Kaponya has written another book. get a copy and burn that trash. his previous book launch was a flop!
people chose to listen to budget speech

  7. Kaponya lacks originality. Ecl paints a portrait, Under5 copies. Ecl calls for prayers, U5 calls 500 pastors to his verandah. Ecl writes a book Kaponya copies.
Now (HH) wants to buy a jet from his colonial boer sponsors

  8. This is the best thing ever coming from HH. The title should have been “Shortcut to State House”. When you consider yourself as the chosen one or the Messiah you tend to start believing your own shadow. Great people don’t big themselves up, they are spoken about by others. It’s like a spoilt child who gets punished for disrupting others and later returns with horror fictional stories to seek for more sympathy. You cannot push boundaries and expect to be untouched because of who you are and who you know. How do you expect to lead a country when others follow your example Mr. HH?

  9. To hell with dat book nd if u write dat book den wat? Z da book goin 2 put food on da table he wil continue bin in opposition.

  10. For your information VJ Mwaanga wrote and published a book while in jail over drugs ,during KKPresidency. There is nothing wrong.

  11. U ka kaput puchi I think u r like a mad dog do u knw evil dictator ur leader z da one who z evil he nids God’s grace nd help i feel pity 4 u

  12. #Oak, I feel pity for you who support a despot leader like Edgar. It is people like you who make people like Lungu think like they’re gods. The writer of HH’s book should put the book on Amazon.

    • Edgar is only a despot because your HH is still an ordinary citizen. Even in Spain police are keeping order as the catalonians try to vote for a referendum. Edgar as president has a duty to protect us peace loving citizens from marauding monkeys like HH

  13. Ahhh HH, start by yo failed appeal why it fell.. be frank right through to the mongu episode…..then you can tell us about yo 5 star stay at mukobeko.

  14. You say this is a book that explains how you were arrested and all the way to the day we walked to freedom after spending 127 days in detention. Before I read does this talk about mistakes of the UPND and the mistakes about the government. If is one sided story then it is a waist of resources. This is so in this kind of situation or let me say in Zambia as a Journalist you do not incline yourself to one camp because in future you will only be able to survive by changing camp. I wish the book was endorsed by both Edgar and HH

  15. At the manner the PF is self-destructing, do not get surprised if HH wins the 2021 elections. HH is no complete write-off. The PF’s undoing will be HH’s rise to power. Mark my words!!!

  16. Taking into account the prominence of UPND’s cadres such as Snr Chief Mukuni, Chief Monze, Chief Hamusonde and their opportunistic appendages such as GBM, Nevers Mumba, Milupi, Moreen Mwanawasa, Mike Mulongoti, and new recruits (i.e. Chishimba Kambwili, Mwenya Musenge), this book on HH’s – 127 stay in jail has been published as a Supplement or Appendix of “THE MAST” Newspapers. The concept of HISTORY may need to be reviewed. Since the book lacks any form of intellectual appeal, it is only palatable to readers that are loaded with HIDDEN TOXIC HATRED FOR OTHER TRIBES in Zambia. The bookshops will stock it just to pollute their shelves.

  17. I GOT THE BOOK AND I ENCOURAGED THE AUTHOR TO OFFICIALLY SELL IT THROUGH BOOKSHOPS, ITS REALLY A NICE BOOK TO READ , ONE CANNOT STOP UNTIL U DECIDE OTHERWISE TO SLEEP, U WAKE UP U ARE ON IT LOL BANE GET A COPY. HH WAS MASTERBATING TWICE A WEEK , HE ALMOST HAMMERED A FEMALE PRISON OFFICER BUT FEARED TO BE CAUGHT, HE IS REALLY A TONGA BULL I WONDER HOW MUTINTA SURVIVES, IF HE GOES TO STATE HOUSE HMM…OUR WOMEN WILL BE IN TROUBLE

  18. This monkey has divided Zambia as never before. Not even in the days of Old Lion Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula have we seen such overt demonstration of tribalism in this country. Nkumbula was virtually under house arrest but not a single chief sided with him. Today you have tribal lackeys like diarrhea bung Mukuni even sleeping at the cemetery because his subject has been imprisoned. Shame.

    • Ba PF read the book as you shall soon experience it! Your days are numbered! Look what happened to the late Chiluba?

Your corruptly acquired wealth will be confiscated and we do the life style audits.Wina azlila!

    • Whose days are numbered? What will the book do to finish my days. PF found me in the world and it will go and life will still go on.

  19. Have you seen the person who has written this tribal book?”FREDRICK MISEBEZI”.Can one find this name anywhere in the North or East?BIG NO!!
So this is the tribal crusade HH and his tribemen have undertaken.SO BUY AND READ THAT NONSENSE AT YOUR OWN PERIL!!

  20. Well done, Frederick Misebezi for taking a good and unique initiative to tell the story of HH’s stay in jail in HIS words by rooting it in his diary. Brilliant! I want to read it and understand HH’s prison life as told by him in first person singular. Thats the best way any normal functioning literate adult will understand the magnitude to his forgiveness.

  21. You need bembas around whether you like or not above all we need each other . Just one word from Chishimba the despised one the all Nation is shaking . You need to talk on behalf of poor Zambians who are sufferings to bridge up the gap between the rich and the poor .
