Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Emmanuel Mwamba says President Jacob‘s visit to Zambia is critical as it will strengthen the two countries’ trade ties.
Mr. Mwamba said the expectations from Mr. Zuma’s visit were to enhance the investment interest that South Africa has.
He said South Africa would have invested in other countries but chose Zambia.
He was speaking to ZANIS at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport before the arrival of South African President Jacob Zuma today.
Mr. Zuma arrived in the country this morning for a two-day state visit.
During his visit, he will attend a Joint Permanent Commission (JPC), a Zambia-South Africa business forum and later visit the residence where South African freedom fighter Oliver Tambo once lived.
Further, President Edgar Lungu and Mr. Zuma will later visit another heritage site, Chilenje House No. 394, where former President Kenneth Kaunda waged the final struggle for Zambia’s independence in 1964.
Earlier in the day, President Zuma laid wreaths at the graves of fallen Presidents Frederick Chiluba, Levy Mwanawasa and Michael Sata at Embassy Presidential Memorial Park as a symbol of strong relations the two countries have continued to share.
President Zuma is expected to leave the country today Friday, October 13th, 2017
South Africa is raping Zambia trade-wise and Lungu is only too happy to just watch.
