The Health Professional Council of Zambia (HPCZ) has warned members of the general public to be aware of unregistered institutions offering health trainings.

HPCZ Public Relations Manager Terry Musonda advised parents and guardians to cross check with the council before enrolling their children in health training institutions.

Mr. Musonda explained that the Council will not recognize any student who would acquire a certificate or diploma from unregistered heath training institutions.

He said the Council is using both the print and electronic media to sensitize the general public on the need to enroll with registered health training institutions.

However, He could not name the health trainings that are not registered with the Council when asked.

  1. This is not correct leadership. ..so how do the general public get know which one is registered and which one is unregistered. ..Lusaka Times team help questions them, how do the public get to know…There are so many school, colleges and universities today offering helth programs.

This Council knows well which schools are registered…why can’t they public registered schools both in the Priint and Electronic Media?

Because ebven these unregistered schools are openly advertising but no one is saying anything.

This kind of leadership is wasting people’s time, and energy if they cannot give people correct and full information.

And this kind of incomplete communication to the general puic brings nothing but disturbance and leads people not to even pay attention.

  2. It is very unfair to allow unregistered U to run in this country. It is useless to warn parents not to take children to unregistered HU. How are we going to know when it is your duty to close such.

  3. The Ministries of Education, and Health, the Registrar of Societies and the HPCZ should help the public by compiling and publicizing lists of schools and institutions that are not registered with them.
In some cases, it may only require the affected institutions to be talked to and advised to register.
In other cases, like “Degree Mills’, that virtually sell Academic and professional paper Qualifications, should be made to close down.

  4. After more than50 years of independence, the country still has no accreditation council? What does this show to the outside world? Clowns for lack of a better word. Why don’t you go and benchmark in neighboring countries?
You want to punish innocent people because of your laziness to leave your office and go to inspect the colleges.
You can’t have an individual or office to be checking the accreditations. She has no capacity whatsoever.Sto lazing around and get down to work.

  5. The ministry responsible for education and training must go on a cleanup exercise to close down unregistered institutions.

  6. Kindly let us know as parents which colleges re not registered .
1 . who’s suppose to let the parents know?

    2. Who allows them to operate ?
3.Who re the inspectors of these private institutions?
4 Why do u have to wait for students to graduate and then deny them a job .
I think prevention is better than cure . Remember you re there to help us as parents. Kindly let us know as parents which colleges re not registered with different regulating bodies of government
