The ruling PF emerged as big winners in local government by elections held on Tuesday retaining all the nine in PF strongholds while grabbing four out of seven wards in UPND strongholds.
The PF has grabbed Kalilele, Mushindano and Kanongo in North Western province.
Other wards are Lealui in Mongu, Nampundwe and Shibuyunji in Central province.
The PF has also won Kakoma, Mafinga, Kalebe, Shiwang’andu in Muchinga, Mikunku in Chinsali, Luapula, Kalulushi and Kansunswa in Mufulira on the Copperbelt.
The other seats are Ntumbachushi, Kawambwa in Luapula province and Munwa, Chiweza and Chiwuyu in the Eastern. Province.
And speaking during a news briefing at the Party’s secretariat in Lusaka, Mr Mwila says the election results also prove that Zambians still believed in the Patriotic Front despite attacks and insults from the UPND and the National Democratic Congress.
He has since urged the PF members who defected to the NDC to go back to the ruling party.
Mr Mwila has also thanked the people who voted for the PF for the first time.
And Mr Mwila says the party is ready for the by-election in Chilanga Constituency which fell vacant following the conviction and sentencing to death of former member of Parliament Keith Mukata.
He says so far 10 applications have been received from members willing to participate in the Chilanga by-elections.
And the has lifted the 30 day suspension it slapped on its Deputy Secretary General Mumbi Phiri.
Mrs Phiri was suspended for gross misconduct.
PF Secretary General Davis Mwila announced the lifting of the suspension during the news briefing.
It appears that voters live in another Zambia because the Zambia that everyone else lives in would have produced a different result going by public sentiment. For UPND, It’s time to go to the drawing board, erase all existing notes and write new ones in different colour. It might even call for change of leadership completely.
Some questions to ask are: Can we assume that there was voter apathy, and that all those who did not vote would have voted against PF?. Do we need to generate another set of voters? If yes, there is some comfort.
Otherwise there is genuine cause for worry and panic in the opposition.
Zambians, voters in particular, are not as gullible and naïve as UPND would like to think. They know what works for them, and its not arrogance, hatred, tribalism, pettiness, and pies in the sky
There is certainly reason for concern that the situation in Zambian isn’t well, however, the opposition we have is equally an uninspiring alternative. If the agenda is occupying plot one by all means possible other than offering alternative solutions to the plight of citizens then our opposition political are self serving.
Real story is people are seeing what is happening.
Problem is UPND supporters are always on radio stations,facebook etc. using same serial callers and giving a false impression of popularity.

Can the government investigate how in Southern Province a ward can record almost 10,000 votes. This in some cases is equal to a constituency. I suspect because of intimidation electoral officials could have allowed even people who are not registered in this ward.
This is how it works and I was told by my Sister in law who is based in Bweengwa. After everyone votes the officers in charge of elections tell all observers to leave the voting room and after that they start marking for all those who didn’t vote. Hence those huge turnout.

UPND has been using same methods and expect different results. Show us that you are different from PF. The other participant NDC has not shown leadership either. The problem with the current crop of opposition is that their campaign carries no message for the electorate. Just for example, The UPND president, HH would say, “nindani waleta njala? ” and he would go on to say, “tomorrow let us all go and vote them out of office ” On other occasion it’s bitterness.

President Sata has advised United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema to love even Zambians who are not of his ethnic background.
Last Thursday, Hichilema wrote to Sata rebuking him over his lack of manners and diplomacy. This was in reference to Sata’s attacks on former United States President George Bush when he visited State House earlier this month.

Am really Happy about the results, and hope 2021 its even a whitewash. This must serve as a lesson to the UPND. Barotseland must wake up. UPND are double dealers. They condemn violence but some of their members are instigators of the violence. People don’t want to be taken for granted. Whilst I support the fact that electoral violence should be condemned and dealt with. It would be fair to deploy an international military observer to condone electoral violence in the next coming elections,mother wise they might blMe electoral violence for the electoral fraud. Zambians must know that electoral violence constitutes electoral fraud upon which results can be nullified if proved.
