The Zambia National Women’s Lobby (ZNWL) has welcomed Government’s decision to stop Congolese musician Antoine Christophe Mumba popularly known as Koffi Olomide from performing in Zambia.

We believe as many Zambians do, that Koffi Olomide should first be cleared of all the charges leveled against him before he can perform on the Zambian soil.

It is sad to note that Koffi Olomide’s illustrious music career has been marred by allegations of human rights violations and abuses, especially of women, who are in his care by virtue of employment.

We did watch footage of the unfortunate incident in which Koffi Olomide physically assaulted a female dancer in Kenya, an incident which resulted in his temporal ban from performing in Zambia and many other countries.

What is worse is that from all indications, Koffi Olomide seems to have not reformed, and has no remorse, as reports of his violent and abusive behavior continues to surface.

A musician with Koffi’s fame should be in the forefront of advocating for a better world through the respect of human rights for all.

We therefore applaud the Government for the decision to ban Koffi Olomide until he is cleared of all charges.

  1. What are you looking for you women. You block all avenues of meeting the right men but you still want to get married? I am sure that at least 100 women would have met someone to marry at this function. Because all crooks have migrated to Church, such gatherings provide genuine ground for meeting future spouses.

Continue blocking events. We will see who will suffer the most. We are counting. You barred Zodwa, your fellow woman and now you have barred a man, Koffi. But people are camped at Mukata’s place?, a murderer for politics? What about the Mukula trees? What about water tenders not to mention fire?

    • Right decision banning the rotten apple.

However, they should let the dancing queens come and perform in our country.

In fact, let Zodwa come and entertain us please as well. We are tired of Iris for now. Man can not live on bread alone.

We need more spice in Zambia.

    • Zambian women always looking for Mr Right….and they end up screwing other men once they get married especially the so called born agains…..to much cheating on each other with fellow church members and pastors….And most Zambian women think that cheating with a pastor is ok….’Man of Gold’

  2. You go to TB Joshua to pray for marriages yet you cant go out to find men where they are found? You go to Mountain tops to pray whilst men are on mountain floors?

Oh stop it women, stop it.

  3. Where is Zambia National Women’s Lobby when our Zambian women are bleaching their skins and putting on hideous weaves on their heads….imagine shaking someone’s hand that has a completely different skin tone to her face. Zambia National Women’s Lobby should be in the forefront in banning these toxic chemicals.
