Kitwe United star man dumps them for Nkwazi

With five games left before the close of the 2018 season, Nkwazi have swooped-in on promoted side Kitwe United’s top gun Emmanuel Chabula.

The striker was conspicuously missing from United’s 2-1 away league loss at Zesco United on Sunday in Ndola.

Chabula, who is United’s top scorer on 10 goals this season, has already going for police training with Nkwazi’s owners Zambia Police.

“Chabula has joined the Zambia Police as a recruit and it was up to the player to decide whether to stay or leave,” United coach Stephen Mwansa said.

“OK, we missed him in the game but we cannot cry over spilt milk.

“But we have players who should now step up in our remaining five games.

“He has gone but we should do something in our last five games without him and collect at least five points.”

Mwansa added that he hoped ex-Power Dynamos striker Jimmy Ndhlovu, who recently joined United as free agent, will lead the charge in the remaining games after scoring his debut goal in the loss at Zesco.

Chabula was instrumental in United’s successful 2017 promotion when his 15 goals helped end Chingalika’s twelve-year absence from the FAZ Super Division.

He also has one Chipolopolo call-up but was an unused substitute at the 2018 COSAFA Cup in June where Zambia finished second behind Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile, United have already secured their position in the 2019 FAZ Super Division after amassing 41 points with five games left after beating the projected 40-point threshold they needed to ensure survival.
