Chinese ambassador to Zambia Li Jie has said that China will continue helping Africa with no political strings attached to aid. Mr. Li said that no political strings includes non-interference in the internal affairs of those states.

He was speaking during the sixty-ninth Chinese National Day in Lusaka last night.

The Chinese government has set aside 60 billion United States Dollars of financial support to Africa in terms of governmental assistance and investments in companies.

At the same function, minister of Higher Education Nkandu Luo said Government remains committed to further strengthen the bilateral relations and cooperation that exist between China and Zambia based on mutual respect.

Professor Luo said Zambia values the technical support from the Chinese government in infrastructure, Information and Communications Technology and Education among other sectors.

In attendance at the celebrations were First Republican President Kenneth Kaunda, Justice Minister Given Lubinda and his Energy Minister Mathew Nkhuwa among other Government officials.

    • China does not force itself on you. They are shrewd at business and if you’re ripped off then blame yourselves for putting incompetent people to negotiate deals on your behalf.

  1. iwe mekamu chocholi ikala fye, the hidden strings are in the paper itself. why are so many countries that borrowed from your s**thole country, crying foul

  2. The President and Head of State of Chambia has spoken! China will continue helping its provinces in Africa with no political strings attached-Li

  3. One Chambia! two nations! So why are these so-called social media journalists not asking the ambassador if it’s true ZNBC and ZESCO are now Chinese owned? muyopa chani?

Translated: “China will continue taking away Africa’s resources while taking advantage of the corrupt leaders”.

You say “no strings attached” but what that really means is the African ruling politicians can continue plundering their own countries’ national resources and abuse human rights and China won’t care one bit… we know there is no such thing as a free lunch.

The so called “help” and “aid” are in fact loans whose money is spent on projects and contracts given to Chinese companies. How clever!

  5. And we are supposed to be so naive and believe such codswallop??
The way your citizens treat Black Africans in China, even in the Africans own homeland, is enough to know You DON’T Love us, & solely are in it for your own profits & gains Mr Li Jie.
Remember your China citizen in Kenya, who said we “Black Africans are sm3ll.y, & like Monk3ys, & he’s only here to make Money, & DOES NOT CARE ONE OUNCE FOR US”
Try cheating Kids in a Kindergarden, Candy Store, or Dull Corrupt P.F Cadres. NOT ALL ZAMBIANS ARE SO GULLIBLE Mr Mr Li.

  6. Ambassador, corruption of foreign government official is a CRIMINAL offence.
Your Country has perpetuated that offence numerous times. No amount of “political” crap can wash your CRIMINAL activities against People of Zambia.
Please read contents of UNGA resolution 58/4 of 31st October 2003 together with Annex.
Your Country has deliberately ABROGATED United Nations Convention against Corruption.
You and your Government should be ASHAMED of your ranting.
In your Country, State Organs EXECUTE CORRUPT POLITICIANS, and in Zambia, YOU ARE ACTIVELY PROMOTING GRAND CORRUPTION.
You are NOT a “friend” of Zambian People. Just another failed corrupt authoriterian demagogue hiding behind fig leaf of “political strings”.
    SHAME ON YOU !!!

  7. The bible is very clear that;
Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14
If Zambia is a Christian nation why is she partnering with a country that does not allow Churches in its country? The communist government is busy destroying churches and imprisoning Christians. What interest do they have in a Christian country?

  8. Some Zambians are indeed funny people. Every country on this planet has elements of corruption. If your judiciary is weak and your government is corrupt, how do expect your trade partners to take you seriously? How is that their fault? The Chinese have a presence in many countries and their relationships are well managed to foster trade. Zambia is a sovereign state, not aligned to any country. We have the freedom to choose who we want to do business with. If our government is engaging in bad deals, let’s fix those before we start pointing fingers. Those criticising China cannot name a single country on this planet they can use as an alternative.

  16. “During the 1950s China imported Soviet plants and equipment for the development program of the First Five-Year Plan (1953-57). At the same time, the Chinese government expanded exports of
agricultural products to repay loans that financed the imports (see The First Five-Year Plan, ch. 5). Total trade peaked at the equivalent of US$4.3 billion in 1959, but a sudden decline in agricultural
production in 1959-61 required China’s leaders to suspend further imports of machinery to purchase foreign grain. Under a policy of “self-reliance,” in 1962 total trade declined to US$2.7 billion”

  17. The politicians who are doing this to Africa will answer to God when they die. Why did you sell your lands to the evil? Which evil is better the white who slaved us or the Chinese who going to slave us again back into bondages? It is so sad that these people around Africa are still enslaved and selling Africa to the Chinese now. The white slaved us now the Chinese try to be the white now putting us back into more disaster and I would trust the white more than the Chinese because the white atleast some trust in God and fear God whilst the Chinese do not they are non believers and have idols as God so why we put Africa into their hands.

For several generations to come will be suffering in pain and hurt as slaves we not using our minds and still acting as slaves so sad indeed. The…

    • I DISAGREE WITH SUCH THINKING /SENTIMENTS!!
Here lies the problem with Africa, & its people.
They readily accept to be conned by far flung nations who exploit them in broad daylight, & also accept inept mediocre leaders /leadership like P.F, & Lungu Pombe, as their minds are SO SEDATED BY RELIGION, they will not ask /fight for better, coz they believe all will be rewarded in heaven, & offenders will be punished by God when you die. Any wonder false Prophets are living like Hollywood filmstars, funded by their starving docile followers?
AFRICANS STOP BEING DUPED, THERE IS NO HEAVEN AFTER DEATH, & IF YOU DON’T LIVE A GOOD LIFE NOW, THEN THATS IT!!
Religion is the Opium of the people -(Marx), & you see this in Africa today, especially Zambia.

    • What a folly, any outsider is equally after enriching themselves @ the expense of sleepy Aficans, whether believers in the “God fairytale” or Athists.
Surely Mariam, you reside in the U.S, & you must know the Brutal heinous acts carried out in the past by “Your God fearing White’s” on Black African Americans like forced labour (Slavery), lynchings, hangings, burnings, [email protected], & many more atrocities.
Today unarmed Blacks, some Children, are murdered in cold blood, for sometimes trivial issues like selling cigarettes, & believe me the majority of the Murderous Cops are “God fearing” like you say, & even go to church every Sunday.
      WHAT SAY YOU MARIAM??

  18. There is no evil here all are friends but the evil to tackle is how you define your interests in this and come out well

There are good and ethical Chinese just like there are Good and ethical west but its up to you to understand and insulate and to the mutual beneficial interests for long-term to come including the generation utilitarianism
