Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo says he will engage Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Li Jie through the Ministry of Foreign Affaird on the Posibility of create a China City where all Chinese nationals will be conducting their businesses in the Province.

Mr. Lusambo says the decision to create China City comes after several complaints from Zambians that the Chinese are engaging in businesses which can be done by locals such as Chicken rearing, Saloons and cooking nshima among others.

“Residents in compounds are not happy that the chinese are also engaging in small businesses and they cannot compete because they dont have money, so creating a China City will be a good idea”. He said

He said this will also be done in line with the decision to twin Lusaka Province and Sichuan Province of China in a bid to foster development.

Mr Lusambo told Journalists yesterday that this however is not meant to discriminate the chinese but create an environment for them to conduct businesses without any challenge.

At the same briefing, Mr. Lusambo directed the police to stop unneccessary road blocks in the Province as they are contributing to congestion on the roads.

“Police must only conduct snap checks for 20 or 30 minutes on undesignated check points and move on, this way we will reduce the congeation on the roads”. He said.

Mr. Lusambo said Lusaka only has three Police Check Points, one along Mumbwa road, one along the Kafue road in Chilanga and one along the Great East road after the Airport roundabout.

The Lusaka Province Minister was recently in Chengdu City of China at the invitation of the Sichuan Provincial Government.

  1. Will they also give us zambia town in china? Dont think for the moment lusambo think for the future. Are u leasing the land u want to give them or its free? What arrangements are u planning? In future our kids wont be able to claim that place u re planning to give them.

    • lets be honest China is a number 2 economy in the world and Zambia what are we not even in the top 10 in Africa…. America can also come build a USA town here if they wanted……

    • Kamwala is for Indians…
Good idea. But where will that “town” be? Where is the land? Demolish state house? Because we hear there is no land for cemeteries to bury Zambians

    • This is what happens when the country is being run by uninformed people. China towns historically have had a bad reputation in all countries where they were set up, including the USA. While they start well, they eventually get hijacked by Chinese gangs who force the decent Chinese to leave— leaving the towns in the hands of competing Chinese gangs. The towns have a tendency of degenerating into places of illegal activities including drug dealing, illegal gun running, brothels and prostitution, gambling, street gangs, organized crime and illegal immigrant smuggling. The Zambian police will have a tough time trying to get access into the towns to do any kind of investigation. You allow the Chinese to setup China towns and you’ll soon begin to see a rapid increase in illegal Chinese…

    • …immigrants in the country within a year. Also they’ll set up restaurants and other places in their towns where native Zambians will not be allowed to patronize. Remember the Chinese restaurant in Kenya that didn’t allow black people to dine from there? Exactly. This is not strange because there are hotels in China that don’t allow foreigners, especially black people. The Zambian leadership is incredibly naïve, and have knowingly or unknowingly continued to sell this country to the Chinese. These foooools will need to be voted out to save this country. This is a tragedy and will have serious ramifications for the future of our country. We’ll not have any country left when these sell-outs are done with their corrupt activities.

    • Why does he want??? Shouldn’t the Zambians be the ones to want. Lusambo we know these chaps have bought you but do not sale our country

  2. Lusambo finshi wasamba? A sad day indeed when such pronouncements are made by dimwit ministers who are clueless. Empower Zambians so Chinese can go to shop in Zambian owned shops. What the heck is this lunatic talking about? No vision for Zambia, any Jim and jack can come to Zambia and get anything they want but the owners of the country, Zambians. How do you honestly and willing offer yourselves to be colonized? Out you must go, enough of this garbage

    • Why does he want??? Shouldn’t the Zambians be the ones to want. Lusambo we know these chaps have bought you but do not sale our country. I think people Lusambo should just simply offer themselves for sale and leave the country out. Until we have a Zambian town in China this nonsense should not be allow in our country

  3. That is a good idea Lusambo, but just do not displace Zambians to please your new pay masters, give them a rural area that is not inhabitated by our Zambian people and they can build a ChinaZambia city .

  4. This is what happens when ministers are on fully paid foreign trips and bribed by their hosts they start pushing and lobbying for interests of their paymasters!!

  5. South africa has done the same. Why are you people blaming Lusambo without giving him solutions. Let’s help the minister with a win win solution and not just condemig

  6. “Mr. Lusambo says the decision to create China City comes after several complaints from Zambians that the Chinese are engaging in businesses which can be done by locals such as Chicken rearing, Saloons and cooking nshima among others.”

Nshima sure, these Chinese are enterprising kikiki. Stop this nonsense though.

  7. Let them bring industries, not their vendors. This minister is clueless. Education is a lacking factor in Zambia in a bad way.

  8. To b honest Chinese need to step back. Why are they trying to be everywhere n not only being everywhere but take over? Why cant they stay in their lands? Are they giving Zambia a plot of land to build a city? They are already in the country why separate them next thing thwy gona create their own currency, own governance, own law? Allow them to integrate with native spend their money with natives go to native school just the same n control the amount of chinese that enters the country. Soon they gona change the name to Chinbia.. ridiculous

  9. Poor Zambians. You have officially become orphans in your own land! Seriously there is no one in the PF who is for your interests,,,,, humble lung, bootlicker lusambo etc

    • Lungu and his gang of lusambos Etal are wealthy rich and dont have to struggle against the Chinese nor do they feel the pain of having to be subservient to Chinese in your own land…..

  10. This sounds like capitulation. Don’t they already have premises in Lusaka where they freely conduct their businesses? Instead of listening to the peoples’ complaints and restricting certain types of businesses to locals only, now he wants to give them a grey zone? In Europe, such decisions call for a citizens’ referendum, they are not just proposed by a single person.

  11. honorable where did you school? find models that enhance cohesion among different peoples for sustainable business.

  12. That’s the only solution because these Chinese are here to stay whether we like it or not. USA did the same. RSA and Botswana did the same. The land won’t be free. They have to buy it. Those of you who don’t like seeing the Chinese will have an option of not going to their trading areas. But I can assure you, most of Zambian business men will be happy as the goods they are buying in China will be brought to Zambia.

  13. This is were you see how du.ll PF and their followers are …….you are seriously encouraging Chinese street vendors to come and set up shop in their own town ??? Do you know how many unemployed Chinese there are ready to come and swamp you dim wits ??

As someone above said, lusambo and pf are being bribed to provide opportunities for unemployed Chinese ……instead of calling on the Chinese to set up industries the bone head lusambo is opening the door to Chinese street vendors ???

Abena Zambia , you are in trouble….

    • Expect atleast a 3 to 4 million population of Chinese in a few years after this so called town is made….and to double every 5 years there after…

  14. Is that not Apartheid? Just pass good laws and regulate the products coming in the country from China otherwise you are asking for trouble.

  15. Hon. Minister it’s not only spot checks causing congestion on the roads but unnecessary speed limits on certain roads. Let’s revise some of these limits to avoid traffic congestion.

  16. Long ago, Washington DC had a visible China town and now it’s just China town by name. And this is same for many big cities around the world.

  17. Zambian government officials are really trying too hard to please their Chinese masters.
Lusambo should be more concerned with he’s poverty stricken constituents and not the wealthy Asians.

    • Yes he seems more concerned with providing job opportunities for unemployed street vendor chinises ……

Lusambo has been bribed in China were he went. The Chinese want to dump their unemployed masses on Zambia….

  18. This is what happens when you put corrupt young cadres into high positions; does this young man Lusambo understand the negative impact a China town will bring to an African city? Has this young man ever gone into a China town in some of the Western countries or he is just excited because of the corrupt brown envelope he has received from the Chinese for him to promote this nuisance of a China town in Zambia;
