Government has dismissed social media reports suggesting that 22 teachers were recruited from Western and Southern provinces, during the 2018 teacher recruitment exercise.
Ms Siliya says the social media reports are false and misleading in nature.
She noted that according to the official figures, 2,009 teachers were recruited in the just ended exercise and are scheduled for deployment.
Ms Siliya revealed that 239 teachers were recruited from Central Province, while Copperbelt Province had 194, Eastern Province was allocated 198, Luapula Province 186, and 129 from Lusaka Province.
Others are, Muchinga Province with 211 teachers, Northern Province 198, North-western Province 221, Southern Province 210 and Western Province 222 teachers.
Ms Siliya explained that 10 percent of the total figure represents teachers with disabilities.
She however noted that the initial target to employ 200 teachers with disabilities was not met, as only 76 teachers living with disabilities were employed.

Ànd why did you recruit those who completed in 2018, 2017 and 2016 especially in Lusaka when you said you only needed those who graduated in 2015 and before. Thousands who graduated after 2015 did not apply but your favoured few were asked to apply and they were picked.

This is what I call a clean report. It has numbers, and it has distributions. Very little room for rumor mongering outside of simply verifying the figures. Whoever wrote this report did a good job. So can the fake news come back with a rebuttal? Or more specifically, can those who had the lower figure dispute with traceable facts?
I can now say that the real tribalist is the chap who created the lie. He is a cancer. Shame on politicians who also went and tried to make a name using the fake story. Beware, their are people who will create stories of tribalism in order to gain politically. Don’t be mislead. Research , scrutinize and ask around before jumping on the band wagon
