Minister of Justice, Given Lubinda, has refuted claims by a named newspaper report that stakeholders taking part in the on-going National Dialogue Forum (NDF) are receiving allowances from government.

Mr Lubinda says he is extremely disappointed that people can be reporting falsehood only to spread and build hate towards an important national undertaking such as the National Dialogue Forum.

During a media briefing held at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka this morning, Mr Lubinda said it is sad that there are people that always want to twist the facts, and report falsehoods to the nation.

He explained that the National Dialogue Forum (NDF) has no money to pay allowances to any delegate at the forum, but stated that institutions that sent representation are free to pay their representatives as they so wish or as they determine.

The Minister added that the law according to section 15 of the Electoral Process, Constitution and Public Order Act, 2019 provides that individual institutions are at liberty to pay their representatives and no one can stop them.

And Mr Lubinda said it is thus extremely mischievous for anyone to insinuate that members attending the NDF are being paid by the forum.

He has since called on members of the public to protect themselves from being guided by such fake stories.

Meanwhile, The Minister of Justice says the forum is making tremendous progress.

Mr Lubinda has indicated that no further extension will be made to the forum and that he expects business to be concluded tomorrow Tuesday, May 14 or half day into Wednesday, May 15, 2019.

More ambiguity and lies …so who is paying a briefcase businessman like Tayali, you think he would come there for free…am sick and tired of these shameless liars

    • In other words NDF has no money to pay them but GRZ is paying them…its n wonder they are quiet happy to destroy everything for a few coins of silver.

    • @Jay Jay, If you arr sick and tired then why are you rewriting what he said? You behave like then. I told you to stop doing that.
Just write to the point. Be real.

    • Tayali is more patriotic than the whole UPND. He knows the importance of the NDF unlike UPND MPs who absconded when they realised that no allowances would be paid.

    • Can we have a similar statement on the Presidential Jogging Programme? Why does it have so many “invitees” most of whom are senior civil servants? Why cant junior kalalikis and Assistants jog with Lungu? Is he scared they will embarrass him by their speed since they are young?
KK also used to jog but he never invited anyone to jog with him. We dont need to know if our President jogs or not. What we want to know is if he is working. Chapwa

    • Nostra…. – am quoting him so dipsticks like you who are too drunk to read the whole article can see where I a coming from.

    • shu shu shu – The Mayor of Kitwe is patriotic he never cried when he was kicked out as he knows its a sham…Tayali was threatened with dismissal he thought about the money and was on his knees apologising..don’t be surprised when half of those people in there are rewarded with Deputy Ministerial positions when ZAMPOST workers are not being paid for 7 months.

    • Its laughable that you think a Zambian can polish up and go sit in a meeting all day without allowance drinking water …these people would sell their mothers at the drop of coins…that’s not patriotism.

    • By a named newspaper? Just tell us naimwe ba LT why are you playing games with your readership

  2. It’s not possible that many zambians can be dressing up in suits like that spend their money on fuel to attend ndf.no ways its a lie mr lubinda. Even just to attend a political rally they hv to be enticed with t-shirts and k20s, how about this ndf thing.

    • Those people are even quiet for fear of being kicked out…that’s what wrong with society today…no integrity or any moral fiber in them.

  3. The institutions who sent representatives are paying for them. These institutions are GRZ so whats honorable telling us.Sir this isn’t fair.

    • They lie to you like you are kids…use jargon to confuse you as they are not transparent and accountable to no one

  4. This is not a national dialogue people!
This NDF is a PF National Constitutional Review to meet PF’s political needs.
Every party in power does this and PF must be allowed to complete the process in order to IMPROVE Governance systems.
    Good luck PF.

    • People are so shortsighted …they will never table matters like Public order act …they think LAZY LUNGU will live forever…what if he doesn’t make it to 2021 and someone else has all these powers and the tables are turned?

  5. Lubinda is a very intelligent man but someone in PF has cast a spell on this man that he is not even able to lie properly. Libinda`s political career ends with this NDF. How Lubinda has allowed ECL and the PF to abuse him to this extent beats my ability to comprehend Zambian politicians. GBM, Felix Mutati, Winter Kabimba ,Pastor Nevers Mumba, and many more are all the same: THEy ARE IN POLITICS FOR THEMSELVES AND THEMSELVES ALONE. Somehow I am beginning to respect and like HH. He is the most consistent and principled politician in Zambia today

  6. Its amazing that in a country of 17 million brains some of whom are really educated economics the allowances are the subject of discussion.Mean while the kwacha is losing value daily. This type of priorities is disgraceful. We have an economic emergency on our hands and that’s by far what we need to discuss

  7. Every delegate is free to get allowances from the institutions they are representing. So Lubinda is getting allowances from GRZ? Mwanalushi? From where?

  8. PLEASE,BWANA LUBINDA WE ARE NOT DULL CZ WE ALL KNOW THAT THESE PEOPLE ARE GETTING PAID FROM THE GOVT.EVEN IF IT IS A PARTY DOCUMENT

  9. They might not be getting allowances in cash per se but they are getting three meals & tea breaks which is more than what most would get just sitting at home that’s why all the extensions. Not to mention transport refund also.

  10. Yaba.Challenged those who have received money to come forward. But here it is speculation as usual with illogic logic such as a Zàmbian can not sit without an allowance!

  11. Tayali has also confirmed receiving 10 pin. Why people think those people are showing up for free to rubber stamp something that does nothing for them except those in power. This whole thing is a sham and l don’t think it will stand the taste of time
