Dr Makope disclosed that UTH is using a lot of blood for various operations and services and has appealed to the general public to donate blood.

He however assured that there are adequate blood stocks at the national blood bank to cater for various needs stating that the government will soon devise a better blood donation and collection strategy.

During the tour to emergency, medical and surgical wards, it was observed that the nurse-patient ratio has improved from over 50 patients per nurse to about 10, per nurse.

  1. Lungu & PF do not care about UTH. Imagine if the money they spend in South African hospitals and Asia could be channeled to UTH? ANyway kuya bebele your time is up. Viva HH & UPND our only hope

    • Chitalu Chilufya has received millions of dollars from big pharmaceutical companies to kill his own people through vaccines. It’s business for big pharma to create patients.

    • Because more Zambians have adopted western lifestyles and the disease that come with:
      – Fast food
      – Driving and not walking
      – letting the garden boy and maid do all the chores while on Facebook

    • Heart attacks, strokes, HBP are stress related illnesses. When citizens are annoyed with a thieving government they can have HBP which leads to strokes and heart attacks. If citizens witness injustice like Kaizer Zulu beating up people with no consequences they get angry and this leads to stress diseases. Theft of Mukula without consequences and Zambia Police waiting to receive orders from state house also DeadNBC being openly manipulatedall annoy citizens who then fall sick

  2. A very tough economy ,toxic polluted air and uncollected carcinogenic trash contaminating Zambia’s urban soils this is the result.Life expectancy in Zambia is going down.

  3. Heart attacks and strokes are diseases of the mind. People have too much on their minds due to the harsh economy. Cancer is mainly a disease of lifestyle, what you do to your body

  4. It’s the food people are eating in restaurants that is high in salt, fat, sugar and other additives. This adulterated food was not consumed by many in the past.

  5. Nothing new here. All this is because of the unprecedented “more money in your pocket ” syndrome that has driven the usual onto the uncongested highway, full of unprecedented salted chickens, chips, pizza, burgers, processed food in cans, tins, containers, and all sorts of drinks from the once innocent coca-cola, if consumed in moderation to, red bull, wines, you name, all being consumed in unprecedented quantities, all in the name of PF has brought unprecedented development and now we can afford unprecedented food ya ba Zungu.

Little do you realize the unprecedented highway you are on leads to the life of unprecedented medication and medical care that you don’t have access to. So sad.

Stick to your nsima ya pa maliketi, natural and no processed preservatives to lengthen shelf life…

    • Stick to your nsima ya pa maliketi, natural and no processed preservatives to lengthen shelf life. Chibwabwa, bondwe, and if possible breed your own birds and livestock than buy in Shoprite meat injected with salt & drugs and whatever else you have no idea of, just to increase their Kilo, since everything is sold per kilo to maximise profit. That is irresponsible capitalism that our generation lives under

Is he a tax excerpted citizen, for him to heap such praises on govt? I thought it’s a right to have access to a good healthcare service. UTH should just adapt, people’s diets have changed, fast life, fast foods, fast killer diseases.
