Newly appointed State House Special Assistant for Politics Chris Zimba has deleted his Facebook page after several of his old posts in which he blatantly attacked President Edgar Lungu went viral.

Soon after his appointment and swearing-in, Mr. Zimba’s old Facebook post mostly against President Lungu’s leadership style emerged on social media.

And a few hours ago, Mr Zimba’s page on Facebook disappeared in what appears to be an effort to hide some of his anti-Lungu posts.

Meanwhile, Human rights Activist Laura Miti says Mr. Zimba’s decision to delete his Facebook page is a bad sign.

“Chris Zumani Zimba, the new Political Advisor to President Lungu, has deleted his Facebook Account. It contained scathing criticism of the President and presidency.”

“That is worrying because his analysis was largely on point. Does trying to erase the memory of his prior views mean that Mr Zimba intends, like Antonio Mwanza and Dora Siliya before him, to unsay all he said before. To be come fully PF is all its mindlessness,” Ms. Miti said.

“That will be sad and of absolutely no use to the President. What the president needs is some honest analysis of the state of the nation. That seems to be in critical short supply around him. Another advisor to tell him humble is the way would be disastrous.”

And former State House Spokesman Dickson Jere says Mr Zimba’s situation is a good reminder on the need to have sober analysis on social media.

“Before you post anything on social media always think twice – some of these things come back to haunt you in future,” Mr Jere said.

“Rule 1 is never personalise debates. Differ with ideas in a manner that does not show disrespect to someone. Nothing wrong to harbour different opinions on matters of national interest,” he stressed.

He added, “Rule number 2-always refer to Rule 1 and don’t call people names such as “corrupt” or “tribalist” or “immoral” without any iota of evidence. You may find yourself working with them in future.”

    • This is what hunger can do….fake people everywhere in our midst….now he will be singing praises and dancing dununa reverse with Lungu…insala yibi….and he was pro gay if not being gay himself….these are the guys who will sell their asssholees just to get money….no principles..no morals

    • Chris Zimba type…these are the kind of people i always avoid in my life..politicians wanting power, fake celebrities, self ego, entitled ignorance, hypocrisy, hate, greed, materialism,no morals and he has joined the bandit crew….just offer chris Zimba money and he will bend foward for you exposing his buttthole

    • Whatever happened to basic checks, its either Lungu lookin for open minded people or his team and ZISS is now filled to the rafters with ignorant incompetent people. No wonder perpetual hungry bootlickers like Tayali are up in arms especially with festive season a his door step and he has nothing to show his naive sleepy Ethiopian teen bride.
Plus nowhere in his statement did he say Kaizer was relieved.

    • Awe boyi naiwe Zimba, why delete stuff?? You were appointed to start getting handovers to opposition. Be good and make sure you know each key to each door so abena HH can just continue with you. Remember your job has only 1 year guarantee.
What about at Lusaka Times are leaving us too?
Remember your good friends like Pilato, get him ka job such as ZNBC director!!

    • Chris Zimba has published two short books. Are people telling me they haven’t read them or at least aware of the presence of these books? Go and read them because that’s the closest u can come to having a conversation with Chris. From where he is at State House, he knows all of us commenting on his appointment.

    • Let’s move on. No news here!
A new page has just been opened.
Even h² given a Government job in PF admin would delete his Twitter account.
We know that all of you folks who are fond of abusing leadership mwaba nalapamala.
Once it is taken care of, all is history.
Michael was tricky on LPM but a new page was opened in the final days of LPM when the later saved the former.
Zimba was NDC, now he is serving the POTROZ.
      The rest is history.

    • He has no spine. No integrity. No balls to say No. No difference with Antonio Mwanza. Cry Our Beloved Country. The country is devoid of real men.

    • Kikikikikikiki! Elyo Bola yawama. The man who was busy blogging only to be summoned for a swearing-in ceremony ku state house. And he abandoned all the insults he had drafted for the dollar job on offer. Can he be genuine? What a circus!

    • He has No Ethics and is a Coward. Why did he delete? He would have stood to his points that he has taken up the Job to help the President Improve and Transform the Country. Signs of desperation and Hunger.

    • If the man Is truly educated, let him resign on moral grounds. I can simply put it like we are chasing one kaizer Zulu and replace him with another one. Does ECL want to use this man’s book of insults? We can do better.

  1. Trust me life in Zambia is hard, if ECL tells Kambwili that he will be his running mate in 2021, Kambwili will change and start singing praises for ECL. African politics is mainly politics of the belly.

    • Kambwili even congratulated this guy on this new appointment. This could be a strong indicator that ECL has preparing to recall Kambwili as a running mate in 2021. Very few are trustworthy in politics.

    • @ thorn in the arse, are you spewing crap because you are waiting for call confirming your appointment as chief arse l1cker?

    • Just laughing ….at you

      See your 1d10cy is incredible.
Unlike you, I am personally aiming high on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs because I work my @ss out.
Wake and work your @ss out too you will surely see that your parasitic mentality will fizzle out.

  2. Zimba has made a huge mistake by deleting his Facebook page.

He should have shares the page with his boss as the basis of their relationship. A critic of one makes a good advisor. A critic will advise you from your weakness first. Its always advisable to keep critics and lap dogs around you.

Despite all advise ( critic or praise), ultimately, the boss is responsible for all and any decision

  3. He’s not going to bite the finger that wants to feed him. Moral of the story: it’s good to think at least 3 times before posting anything on Fakebook. Look wide and look deep. Or as Jamaicans would say: “nuh every ting good fi eat good fi talk.” meaning “some things are better left unsaid.”

  4. Comment: he wants to start at a light note and end up bruised at the end of the day. But he looks sharp let’s wait and see…..!!!!!!

    • Its a bit too late if you tell me; these are the people Lungu should have appointed in 2016 bu lucky Zambian are a forgetful people. If smart chaps like him were appointed for months ago the Foote Washington issue would have been dealt with differently.

  5. There is total discontinuity of OP and other security wings in Zambia.

Was this guy not advised before hand to delete all damaging critical posts of lungu ???

I blame lungu for the break down in operations of security wings in Zambia. They all don’t know their jobs and only seem focused on harassing opposition.

This Zimba should have been checked and told to remove all trials of critiscisims of lungu

  6. Americans are forcing Germans to buy expensive liquid gas from the USA which is shipped in Tankers. Do not play with Americans, you will be yesterday.

  7. My Lusaka Times posts on Lungu are here to stay cuz they’re the rock truth. Now Bwana Lungu can i have a cushy job too?

  8. Integrity is a rare find in Zambia especially among the young! Integrity means keeping your word! And this is the tragedy of today’s education system. It’s Education without Ethics and wisdom – a mere parroting of facts and regurgitating them on demand. The young man Zimba turns out to be another Antonio Mwanza going back to his vomit. There are two problems here – Chagwa and Zimba. Did Chagwa do background checks on Zimba before the appointment? Isn’t it possible that he can carelessly appoint a security risk to the nation for lack of due diligence? The second problem is Zimba himself. He is not different from GBM and all who talk I’ll of others then go back on their words. A person of integrity would have respectfully declined the appointment to remain true to self. Trouble is the…

  9. It became fashionable and made one look intelligent to insult Edgar Lungu. The promise of the biggest opposition to unseat the PF looked real in the minds of people who couldn’t reason. They thought a revolution was imminent. But time opens people’s minds to reality. The opposition was just a bitter lot after being defeated again. Those who thought they were privileged to leadership (hh, Kambwili, GBM, Kabimba, Mmembe, etc) cried out the loudest as hate swelled deeply in their souls as no one expected Edgar to take the mantle. Zimba, just as people like Lungwangwa, GBM realised the opposition is going nowhere, they are a selfish and hateful lot. Reason has prevailed.

  10. Dickson Jere must be a chicken. In stead of advising the appointee on how to bootlick why not have the balls to tell Lungu he has blundered by appointing some one without a check up? Why not remind Lungu about the processes for bringing someone into state house instead of focusing on the appointees shortcomings? It’s the president who is making kafwafwa here not Zimba. This one sided advice shows us Jere went into statehouse for the money not for what he could contribute to the President’s efforts.
