Chief Mukuni commends the Barotse Royal Establishment For Rejecting BILL 10

Share

Senior Chief Mukuni of the Toka Leya people in Southern Province has commended the Barotse Royal Establishment for their forthrightness and candor for officially rejecting the abhorrent Bill 10.

Chief Mukuni says Bill 10 if enacted will finally achieve the aspirations of the anti-BRE agents that have for so many years desired to obliterate the BRE as a Kingdom.

He said in a statement that it is pleasing that the BRE has seen through the whimsical arbitrariness of autocracy and treachery by the proponents of this legislation that goes against all tenets of democracy, and the collective will of the Zambian people whose opinion has not been sought.

“Isn’t it however remarkable that the prime movers of the Bill in the National Assembly are bonafide subjects of the Barotse Royal Establishment namely, Leader of Government Business in the House, Her Honour the Vice President Inonge Wina, Minister of Justice Given Lubinda, Honorable MPs Professor Lungwangwa and Mutompehi respectively”, he said.

The Traditional leader said this was a clever but sinister attempt to dress the bill with a sheep’s skin over a ferocious and marauding wolf, whose real ambition was to ambush the BRE.

He said if in future people of Barotseland protested against the Bill for whatever reason, they would be reminded that Bill 10 that had changed the face of the BRE came through the blessings of the Royal Establishment whose distinguished daughter and sons were crafters and movers of the Bill into law, while the BRE gave unqualified support.

“That is why I am eternally proud and grateful that the BRE thwarted this attempt by the promoters of Bill 10”, he added.

Chief Mukuni said it is now up to all the lawmakers from Barotseland to stand with the Royal Establishment in rejecting this Bill and ensuring it does not see the light of the day in Parliament.

  1. I even applied for a beatifull Barotseland passport in 2010, unfortunately those Lozis are lazy, they failed to form an independent kingdom. I don’t want to be ruled by thugs on Lusaka who roast Chinese.

  4. Bill 10 is more sinister than FTJs third term bid.
It must be resisted at ALL costs.
Zambia cannot continue under Mr. Lungu and his crew. They are a bunch of corrupt, greedy people.
The president is held captive by his corrupt deeds and the fear of his minions.
He is such a weak man, such a poor leader. I have never seen such a combination of lack of leadership and lack of competence in a leader.
    Lungu MUST go. Period.

If you want everyone to be insulting other people’s chiefs, we can get into that but why do that?? Insults are for pea brained upnd donkeys who can’t think on their own!!!!!

  6. Irregardless of his status and being a citizen of this country, Chief Mukuni has a right to express his views on Illegal Bill 10.

We live in a democratic society where freedom of speech and expression are prevalent, so please leave him out of your myopic attitude.

    PF must go!

  7. It’s one thing I did not realise, the primary role being played by Inonge Wina, Lubinda, Prof. Lungwangwa and Likando Kalaluka in gutting our Barotse society through Bill 10. At least I can understand with Inonge because the Winas have always betrayed Barotseland right from Litunga Imwiko Imasiku (Imushotoki), abrogation of the Barotseland Agreement and now this, you will find Winas from Namakando, his sons Sikota and Arthur and now it’s even spreading to their spouses, Inonge. Well, Inonge must find herself a plot in Chipata or Chinsali where she can retire to upon being shoved out of office, mubu waluna kwa Muoyo luta ku byangula ona.

    • @The Engineer.

I’m just echoing and reminding everyone including their staunch cadres. “PF must go” is now my signature.

  8. Governments are supposed to work for the people and if the people reject a particular prescription Governments < sensible Governments are supposed to listen and not start using underhand methods to force the rejected prescription on the people unless they have sinister motives.
PF has lost all credibility among straight thinking people in our country who are the majority, today as we speak, even those that parrot PF slogans sporadically know that they are living on borrowed time, the carpet has been removed from under their very feet, all they are doing now is keeping up appearances.

  9. Instead of sorting out the economy, though truthfully we know they have no capacity, they are busy with bill 10. The worst government to have been put in place since 1964. Economy is serious degraded, and watch them, they want to use covid 19 as a cover up and yet it is just glaring incompetence which is at the center stage of all this. Total failure, nowhere to hide

  10. MR PRESIDENT ECL. WE VOTED FOR YOU SO THAT YOU DO THE WORK ON OUR BEHALF, MIND YOU WE CANT ALL BE PRESIDENTS, SO DONT BECOME A DICTATOR ON GOVERNANCE ISSUES. WE DONT WANT THAT BILL 10 DONT FORCE US TO AGREE TO IT. IF YOU ARE A GOOD PRESIDENT, LISTEN TO US BECAUSE ITS US WHO PUT YOU ON THAT SIT AND WE CAN REMOVE YOU SIMPLE. INFACT WE ARE REMOVING YOU IN 2021. NO TO BILL 10. WHOEVER INSISTS TO BILL 10 WILL CONTRACT COVID-19.

  11. Many of the rights guaranteed to the citizens of democratic countries must be
limited or qualified—or the scope of rights narrowed—in order to prevent
conflicts with other rights or with certain general interests. A well-drafted
limitation clause prevents these limits, qualifications or restrictions from being
taken too far or from being misapplied.
However, constitution-makers may decide to make some rights absolute since
violating them to any extent under any circumstances would be inhumane and
    might invite broader violations.

  12. The challenge, then, is to design a constitutional provision that enables rights
to be prudently limited to the extent necessary to protect the public good and the
rights of others without undermining essential human rights or the civil liberties
that provide the foundation for a free society. This can be achieved through a socalled limitation clause, a provision that constrains and empowers legislatures
and the courts by: (a) allowing specific limitations on rights; and (b) placing
    International IDEA 5
    2. What is the issue?
limits on such limitations, thereby protecting the right against excessive
    restrictions

  13. A good document speaks for itself. Bill 10 speaks for itself and let the people freely accept or reject it. Why the campaign. Why is Nakachinda moving up and down campaigning for Bill 10. Our Indunas in Barotseland are not illiterates, they are very learned and understand Bill 10. They dont need Nakachinda to understand it. Nakacinda is on a sponsored campaign and cannot come back to say people have rejected Bill 10. Where ever he will go he will say they have accepted, so that he can continue hammering the money. They are doing the same thing they did in MMD and Lupiya Banda until MMD collapsed and lost elections, next they joined PF. Now they are doing the same to PF. So please let the MPS both from the ruling party and the opposition accept or reject Bill 10. Why should it be partisan…

    • Let us vote first in 2021,then now bring your debt to bill 10 ,which someone say it is a camel to enter i n the eye of the needle,go ahead force it.

  14. When UPND MPS reject Bill 10 it is Partisan politics, but when the PF MPS support Bill 10 they are not partisan. Are we being sincere?

  15. I am very proud of chief Mukuni. Just see the eloquence in his write up. What of the reasoning capacity. Its supper. Blessed are you chief Mukuni. Kaponyas will die of envy.

  16. The chief sorry to say so,don’t be cheated the plan is to blackmail you, and give you, your own land 10 %,which you rejected…be careful in what you are supporting, the shares you being promised you will just see them when you vote them, next they will just show you the papers where you sign, and you will gate ashamed….what I know when you chiefs be involved into politics, then you will loose everything.. Mark my words, never say we didn’t tell you, as we told chilufya about closing the boarder, now see, what is an out come, God Almighty is watching.

  17. It looks like Govt hasn’t got the 2/3 majority to ennact Bill 10 into law and thats why there is a Campaign Team trying to Marshall support for the Bill. The Govt runs the risk of PF Members of Parliament voting against the Bill together with the Opposition MPs. Parliament is supposed to recovene on June 9,2020 to vote on Bill 10. Given the lack of support for the Bill we will not be surprised if Parliament won’t recovene as scheduled and postponed to a future date with the excuse of increased Covid-19 infections. Just wait and see!

  18. At the end of the day you are all just voters and cadres given a platform like this one to simply satisfy your egos and unleash your ignorances.
    ECZ decides who wins.
