  1. Disgusting behaviour by police.Thats no way to treat a woman.I would also slap the hell out of someone who tried to rough up my son. Police are supposed to de-escalate the situation. Tossing her like that was totally uncalled for.I’m angry at the victimization of anyone who is not PF

    • I never hear of the Namibian Police tormenting citizens. I never hear of the Botswana Police clobbering citizens. I never hear of the Mauritius Police manhandling citizens. These neighboring countries must be having very civilised police officers. How do they train them? How do they create civilised police forces? ? How do they manage to distance themselves from the thuggery of Zambia, Zimbabwe and South African Police?

    • That is why women must be respected. No woman sits by while their baby is being mistreated. They gave birth to that being. Police must be trained on how to handle women. You can see in those pictures that these are untrained police! Uncivilised police! Just look at those pictures. Ten policemen all on a helpless woman ripping apart her dignity! She is not a thing! She must be respected!! Watching these pictures, I really hate to be Zambian

  3. Sorry, but this is going beyond the pale! However angry you are, you do not slap police officers doing their work. Stay calm and resolute, and you will achieve more. The whole scene is so undignified.

    • These aren’t police officers. They are thugs dressed in uniform. There is nothing that they wont do because no one in this police force, not even their commanders know any human rights. They are enforcers. Enforcers of Political wrongs.

  5. Those police officers are not even wearing masks to prevent the spread of Covid-19. We need to re-educate our police officers so they can also be responsible and professional in the manner they discharge their services to the general public.

  8. As I said in my other post today…

Zambia is a police state. A dictatorship.

And you wonder why violence against women is considered normal in Zambia.

If she did assault a PF police person, then yes arrest her. But if she did this to protect her son who was being assaulted by PF police, then let her go. Shame on you for hitting this woman, who is probably still jet lagged.

    • Well spoken Indigo Tyrol. I will excuse any woman who acts irrationally when she sees he son or daughter in trouble. She has only one instinct to rescue her baby. The Police should know this. I don’t give much of a hoot what happens to Mr Kambwili but there should be no charge on Mrs Kambwili. Release her because you have already ripped apart her dignity.

  9. EVERY MOTHER HAS A MOTHERLY SPIRIT AND IF THIS CONTINUES THEN WE ARE A DEAD ZAMBIA. WHERE ARE THE ACTIVITS OF HUMAN RIGHTS?
WE ARE ALL LOOSING SIGHT AND PACIENCE.

  10. Let us all respect our Policemen and policewomen because we all need them believe me.
It is wrong for anyone to beat a police officer carrying out his duties whatever the circumstances..If you cooperate during an arrest then there is no roughing up .But if you resist arrest then you are handled by force which is bad.
Please its best to cooperate and use the legal channels to resolve our predicaments.
The truth will always set you free eventually. God sees over all his children.

    • We don’t need a Police Force. We need a Police Service. They are not the law. They are supposed to police the law make sure it is being followed.

  11. All the way from London just to be thrown in jail for assaulting a police officer, even before self isolating. I bet you she would never dare do that to a Met officer where she has come from. Anyway that’s what you get for thinking you deserve special treatment because you’ve just come from abroad. And after CK serves his sentence and visits the UK, he will be with his lady friend in the mid-west of England.

  12. Zambians are cowards!! Yesterday in LAGOS, Nigeria- Tens of thousands of protesters brought the largest city in Africa to a standstill , mounting the biggest demonstration in a two-week campaign against police brutality and escalating a standoff with their government that has pledged to restore order

  13. She was wrong to slap a man in uniform on duty. Period. She made her bed, let her lie in it. Whoever is supporting her misconduct have no wisdom themselves. If you fight the law, the law will always win. And stop comparing Zambia to Nigeria – what is going on there has nothing to do with us.

  14. Sorry to the lady for this action by police.. slowly I understand why I told at a young age to never be a policeman as intelligence level’s in the service are very low.i for one can never tolerate being manhandled by a Zambian officer..ndaponona.. certified sensei

  17. A Professional and Well-trained Police Officer is trained to use maximum restraint under severe provocation!
What we have are just Cadres in Uniform- very unprofessional!
Shame on you for hitting back a woman after a small slap!
Since you have slapped her back, there is no case here. A wrong does not make another wrong right! I hate men who physically abuse women! You must have said or done something very $tupid to invoke the wrath of an already distressed person!
    Mulekwatako wisdom!
    Unfortunately, f00ls dispose wisdom!

  18. In 1986, I was one of those made dictator Kenneth Kaunda cry after that powerful food riot. If I was pa Zed today, most likely ECL would have peed himself after making his police look STUPID.

  19. If she tried that in America the land of the free she would be the late by now. For all we know she would have had a weapon and the police officer has to act when there is a threat of harm to them. They don’t get paid to be slapped by people more so some one who holds citizenship of another country. Who does she think she is ? The police man should be pressing charges. That is not how you act towards law enforcement. This is not the UK.

  23. But are you supposed to Slap the Cops and expect them to just stand-by and look? Assaulting a police officer is a pretty serious charge anywhere in the world. Emotions may be pretty high in the Kambwili household but they must be kept n check otherwise these outbursts from the family are not help CK in remand. Now he has to worry about his wife and daughter. in addition to perilous state and condition he is in

  24. Now it is them, soon it will be all of us. We need to condemn this in the strongest terms and at the right moment some people should be held accountable for these acts.

  25. Zambian policemen do not deserve any respect for being corrupt and allowing themselves to be used by the political leadership. This is why we have protests in Nigeria! If policemen were professional in doing their job, no one would dare touch or criticize them. After all PFool cadres are always beating up the police without being reprimanded. Why should they be so vigilant against a defenceless mother?

  26. Let me ask you guys this, so this woman has been living as diasporan for years apart from her husband, the moment he gets arrested is the moment she misses him so much as to get emotional enough to harass our gallant men in uniform? It shouldn’t take the arresting of your husband for you to turn up. Something is amiss. Is she still mrs kambwili or mrs Jones, because with that behaviour I wouldn’t be surprised for her to now be a Jones.actually not even Jones, because she clearly lacks English manners. Maybe mrs oguchekeke…

  27. From whatever angle you look at this, initiating any kind of violence by whomever, is never justifiable; and especially from one who might possibly be ‘First Lady’. It’s unacceptable behaviour and smacks of gross arrogance. And rallying to condemn the police in this instance, is to condone violence. We don’t want violence of any kind from anybody – police, civilians, all.

  28. Useless characters like @KZ and the ostrich @Nine Chale are part of the reason brutality by a cadre Police force on PF strings, continues. Loads of times when the Police have used violence and sometimes fatally and have continuously hounded the opposition, these two characters have kept mute. A woman reacts instinctively to defend her son, and they callously yap nonsense.

  29. This incidence is a reflection of wider issues we have. Firstly we have a psychopath regime determined to preserve it’s power at whatever cost, inspite of being clueless about running a country. Secondly, the regimes continued survival is compounded by a weak civil society (including compromised NGOs), impotent Parliament and a scared population. Delayed reaction means eventual reaction will tear the country apart irretrievably

  30. Whether there was a wrong here, albeit an instinctive reaction by a mum, why do the usual suspects here and the despicable PF officials only react when someone ‘hits back’? Many a time they turn a blind eye to the behaviour of their purchased Police towards innocent people. That’s the disgusting hypocrisy we are also entitled to condemn.

  31. Barbaric of a policemen behaving like thugs! Whatever they are taught during training to make them professionals does not take root! The officer should not have struck back as in doing so he became complicit in turning the scene into a brawl! Exercise of restraint would have had the lady charged for the original offence that necessitated her removal from the courts AND for assaulting a law enforcement officer. Maybe the slap disoriented him such that he lashed back wildly! If the lady sued him it would be difficult for him to defend his action as retaliation! Anyway it is said most of the men we see in police uniform are in fact PF party cadres and nothing good can be expected from them!

They will tell you ,” UZA KAMBA KU ZOKOLO “. and will be assaulted by each officer reporting on duty. They are frustrated lot with no incentives from their employer and their frustration is difussed by beating innocent zambians. They fear criminals because they associate with them and get bribes. The time that PF will loose grip of power and it goes to the opposition bakasumina x10 .Especially UPND, Just imagine HH ,Republican president,Katuka as minister of home affairs. You will cry why you were born and joined politics. Just wait ba PF with your chakolwa president and wait for judgement day which is just near the corner .Iwe kashetani…

  33. The Zambia police’s handling of a citizen charged with a misdemeanour pales in comparison with the Metropolitan Police’s handling of even a murderer, so why not leave the MET out of this! What we have is thuggery and I have personally experienced it before. No matter what the crime committed(which I don’t condone), there is need for professionalism. To see a citizenry in full support of this is heartbreaking!

What we have is thuggery and I have personally experienced before(twice). No matter what the crime committed(which I don’t condone), there is need for professionalism which seems to be seriously lacking at the moment. To see a citizenry in full support of this is heartbreaking cause you don’t know who will be roughed up next!
