Zambia Women’s national team hopes to end their Turkish Women’s Cup outing on a high.
Zambia has won one and drawn one of their opening two games of the three-nation round-robin friendly tournament Turkiye is hosting from February 13-22 in Antalya.
Bruce Mwape’s team beat North Macedonia 1-0 on February 15 but later lost by the same margin to Slovenia on February 18.
“It’s a must-win game for the team because we are coming back from a loss. We have to up our game and make sure we collect maximum points,” captain Barbara Banda said.
The three friendlies are Zambia’s first engagements in 2023 as the momentum slowly starts ahead of their debut outing at this summer’s 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Australia and New Zealand will co-host the FIFA Women’s World Cup host from July 20-August 20.
