President Hakainde Hichilema has established a Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) to accelerate the implementation of high priority government programmes and projects.
President Hichilema has since appointed Kusobile Kamwambi to head the PDU and Chipokota Mwanawasa as the deputy head.
Ms Kamwambi also serves as Permanent Secretary at Management Development Division, Cabinet Office while Ms Mwanawasa currently serves in the Presidential Advisory team.
President Hichilema has since wished the appointees every success as they carry out their duties.
This is according to a statement issued to the media in Lusaka today by State House Chief Communications Specialist, Clayson Hamasaka.

Ours is an executive presidency. This means that the President is the ultimate supervisor of all, I repeat, all government operations. However, government is so large that it’s not possible to hv one office to keep an eye on all operations to ensure that the public interest is served. So the President needs assistance to perform this function. There are no new appointees here. Only an expansion in the scope of functions that existing appointees will perform has been made.
I wish he would have hired Professor Kasuka Mwauluka for this job. Prof Mwauluka, who the Deputy Vice Chancellor when HH and I were students are UNZA was a no nonsense man who made sure work was done.
Where is that very hard working man? How can a country in so much need just allow him to disappear like this? Zambia needs such brains to develop

All his bootlicking advisors were too busy clamoring to tell him how clever he was. They forgot to tell him about similar schemes whose genesis was state house namely the presidential slush fund, the presidential housing initiative, shouldnt we include ZNOC?.
