Opposition Leaders Show Support as Malole MP, Hospitalized After Road Accident

Share

Leaders from various opposition parties have rallied to visit Hon. Robert Kaela Kalimi, the Member of Parliament for Malole constituency, who is currently undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Levy Mwanawasa Teaching Hospital. Hon. Kalimi was involved in a serious road accident on Friday night along the Great East Road near the Silverest area.

The incident occurred as Hon. Kalimi was returning home to Silverest after passing the Check-Point in Lusaka. The road accident prompted his immediate transfer to the hospital, where he is now receiving intensive medical care.

Several prominent political figures, including Economic Front President Wynter Kabimba SC, Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Hon. Brian Mundubile, and Members of Parliament Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba, among others, made a special effort to visit Hon. Kalimi during his hospitalization.

The accident has raised concerns among party members and supporters, with Patriotic Front Acting President Hon. Given Lubinda and Hon. Christopher Kangombe, among others, rushing to the hospital to inquire about Hon. Kalimi’s condition and offer their support.

The wellbeing of Hon. Robert Kaela Kalimi remains a top priority for the opposition leaders and the broader political community, and his recovery will be closely monitored in the days to come.

  1. A SHAME ABOUT THE ACCIDENT AND I AM SURE ALL WISH HIM WELL REGARDLESS OF POLITICS
BUT THE OPPOSITION IS SURELY RUSHING THERE TO GARNER SUPPORT FOR THEIR OWN PERSONAL REASONS

    • There’s a family now that is anxiously hoping that all will be well. It’s inhumane to bring in politics at this stage. Let’s learn to coexist and keep politics away from things that can happen to any family in Zambia. We will not succeed in building a peaceful and prosperous Zambia if we cannot even do the basics.

  2. The hurt and damage done to Zambians under pf was more than a mere car accident. But anyway I wish him a recovery so that he can answer in court when corruption allegations are made against him.

  4. Can lusakatimes do something about this irritant known as Tarino. Lusaka times can you get rid of tarino, if he is not fighting with other bloggers, he is fighting with invisible trolls that only he can see. Lusaka times have lost bloggers due to people like tarino. He or she used to be ndanje khakis then changed to Jay Jay and now going as tarino. Some people need to grow up and get out more.

  6. Politics is just a bunch of men fighting to protect their insecure egos. Why not use that energy for a good cause like LGBT rights. I attended church today. Who said religion and Lgbt cannot work together.

  7. Sympathies yes…. but support for what? For god’s sake the man was involved in a traffic accident not in political fracas with the ruling party.
Wishing the young man quick recovery.

  8. Understand politics for God’s sake

  9. Robert Kaela Kalimi’s relatives must be careful with Emmanuel Mwamba visiting Robert, that evil chap chiwa. You recall how he was the last person to see Chiluba. He is also a notorious sex pest, they will come back tomorrow to find Robert with a Muchinga escapment on his backside after Mwamba visits.
